Paradise Bay Resort Oahu, Hawaii
Paradise Bay Resort, located on Oahu’s tranquil windward coast in Kaneohe, offers a serene alternative to the bustling crowds of Waikiki. Built in 1971, this boutique property is tucked away along the shores of Kaneohe Bay, providing guests with immediate access to one of Hawaii’s most stunning natural environments.
The resort is famous for its breathtaking, unobstructed views of the jagged Koʻolau Mountain Range and the tranquil waters of the bay. A standout feature is its on-site marina, where guests can take advantage of kayaking, snorkeling, and boat excursions to explore the nearby islands and ancient Hawaiian fishponds that define the area’s rich history.
With only 46 individually decorated suites and cottages, the property maintains an intimate atmosphere. Most units feature private covered lanais and kitchenettes, making it feel more like a personal island home than a traditional hotel. The open-air lobby and relaxing poolside amenities, including a hot tub, encourage guests to simply slow down and enjoy the tropical surroundings.
The resort is perfectly situated for those looking to explore the local culture. It is just a short drive from the serene Byodo-In Temple, a replica of a Japanese Buddhist temple nestled at the base of the mountains, and Senator Fong’s Plantation and Gardens. Whether you are looking for a peaceful mountain retreat or a gateway to water-based adventures, this hidden gem serves as an ideal, authentic base on the island.

Not what I expected from the advertising
The balcony was large and had a terrific view of the bay.
The table and chairs in the kitchen were very tall. They were also kind of flimsy, hard to get into and out of, and uncomfortable. The couch, on the other hand, was to low for me. I'm 5'11". TV controls had no directions and were difficult to figure out. Never did figure out how to watch regular cable TV. Luckily some people had logged into some subscriptrion channels (eg. Netflix, Amazon) and not logged out when they left. If location is a factor in your choice of hotels the Paridice Bay Resort is not a good choice. It is located in the middle of a residential neighborhood, and not a very affluent neighborhood. If you like walking to view the sights this is not a good choice. The hotel is located on the side of a hill and required using steps, in most cases. Not good if you have a problem going up or down steps. If you do stay here make sure your room access does not require going up or down steps. The hotel has no restruants, coffee shops, or snack bars. Except for a McDonald's about a mile away the closest restruant is about 3 miles away. The air conditioner did not keep the room (our room anyway) cool if the drapes are open during the day. I think it was working correctly, just too small for our room size and orientation. The drapes are blackout drapes only, no choice of lighter filter drapes, so they had to be closed during the day or the room would get very warm.

An excellent location for selfcatering vacation.-
The location is truly beautiful with wonderful mountain views and excellent sea access.
Some of the furniture was clunky and uncomfortable. However the bed was very comfortable. The shower worked intermittently. The provided coffee was decidedly ordinary.

Great location and staff!
Booked a standard one bedroom with a king bed. I requested an upgrade and received a 2 bedroom with ocean views at no additional charge.

Loved our visit and would definitely stay here again!
The location is gorgeous! In a calm, quiet neighborhood right on the water. Clean, spacious room, with a big deck to relax. The bed was nice and comfy. Friendly staff. Big sitting area with a view of the water in the lobby with coffee and banana bread in the morning. Nice kitchenette. Slow pace and very relaxing! Felt like “old” Hawaii!
Since they are nestled in a residential community and built up a hillside, parking was a bit of a challenge. The spaces are small and hard to maneuver in and out. Also, the couch in the living room and on the deck was not very comfortable. Small inconveniences for such a beautiful, serene place!

Paradise it is!
The location with the beautiful scenery from the lobby. Friendly staff. Within short distance from beaches and Kualoa Ranch.
Depending on the room you get, it can be difficult to carry heavy luggage up to your room. But we managed.

Nice place without advertised activities
Comfortable beds and nice location away from the business of the towns
They advertise as having kayaks, paddle boards, yoga, etc. but you have to book these in advance via QR code when you arrive and when we went to do this they were only available at 3pm two days after we left… don’t count on these things being available

Perfect Hawaii getaway
We had the best time we loved our stay it was comfortable. The resort was exactly what I imagined for me. It was the perfect Hawaii getaway. They even have barbecues downstairs so you can make your own food. You have a nice kitchenette we made our own breakfast every morning you just have to be aware that you bring your own grocery since there is no supermarket close And there’s no restaurant at the resort.

Nice place, would recommend
location/views/property, room was clean. nice, large balcony
There was coffee pods but no cream/sugar/stir stick, etc. We don't drink black coffee so we were not able to make a nice cup of coffee in the am

Lovely staff, beautiful gardens and views. Would stay again.
Staff, the scenery, the views, the gardens, banana loaf, coffee, tea, and water. The patio furniture in the communal garden area. Quiet property during our stay.
The kayak seats were a little run down, booking kayaks was an issue, not properly notified of activities that could have been booked or used prior to arrival, there was not much room on the kitchen counter if you were to do anything even washing a few cups. There was no clothes drying rack so you didn’t have anywhere to put wet bathing suits and towels. There property was a way from food and restaurants so that required driving several times a day.
The patio with the kitchenette room we stayed at was small and didn’t have very comfortable seating.

Far from Waikiki, neighborhood setting in the more jungle side of the island so not for everyone
Vegan banana bread for breakfast!
Don't skip a paddle along the reef in a kayak.
Cute place set away from everything busy.
I wish yoga would have been offered on a weekend day

Lovely corner but you need a car to stay here
Use of pool, kayaks and stand up paddling equip after paying daily resort fee. Morning yoga available. Parking space provided for our unit. Nice balcony looking out a the bay. (We were viewable too by our neighbors which wasn't so cool.) USB plug on the bedside lamp is worn out. Needs more plugs in the bedrooms for charging devices.
For this isolated "resort", there really was no food service at all without getting in your car and driving 5 miles or more. Banana bread was available in the morning in the lobby... with coffee. Coffee was, however, undrinkable to my party of 3 adults due to some "flavor" added.
Not a nice area to take a walk in as it is tucked into a residencial rundown area. No sidewalks or shoulders and no streetlighting made walking dangerous.

The location is so beautiful and peaceful.
The view of the mountain range on the water is breathtaking. The concierge recommended some excellent eating places and picnic areas.
I didn’t like the native 6 legged critters in the room. Some were bold enough to climb the table while we were eating. We were able to maintain the visitations by putting all foods and utensils in the refrigerator.

A relaxing staycation on Oahu
We live in Honolulu and booked this hotel for a break from the city and to explore the Windward side of the island a bit more. The view from our room (#16) was spectacular. And the room was spacious and had everything we needed. We also took advantage of the Saturday boat trip to the Kaneohe Sandbar and that was excellent. The staff was wonderful. We would definitely stay here again.
The only thing we didn't like was the noisiness of the property. The walls are very thin and the connecting door between our room and the room next door was not only thin but it had gaps underneath it so the people next door might as well have been in our room, we could hear every word they said. A thicker connecting door would have solved most of the problem. Also the people above us were very noisy. It also would have been nice if parking was free since there's really no other way to get to the property than with your own vehicle.

We will be returning!!
We had an over the water room, the views were lovely. The pool is very nice. The ability to go out paddle boarding or kayaking was an added bonus.
I did not enjoy that in the week we were there our room key deactivated three times and we kept having to go to the front desk to get it fixed. The walls are super thin, a couple of times I thought the neighbors were in our room, but it is not enough to stop me from returning.

It's peaceful but not extravagant.
I liked that we were right on the water! The views were beautiful. The beds were comfy. All the kayaks and snorkel gear were great. We came for my husband's 40th. We were disappointed at first, but as the week went on, the resort grew on us.
The room we had wasn't updated. Our deck had a huge bump from 2 boards coming up that we all tripped on a lot. Ants were kind of a pain in the butt to deal with in the kitchen area. Parking was really tight, especially if you get in late at night. The photos I saw from when I booked it were not what we got.

I would come back again. I like that you hôtel was walking distance to the beach.
Your staff was very courteous and professional doing there job.
I am 69yr old, I had little trouble going up and down the stairs to my room.

Gorgeous small resort
Gorgeous property in a little cove in Keneohe. The grounds are splendid
There are lots of stairs. If one has trouble climbing, bing stairs, or is necessary to be sure to get one of the more accessible rooms

Beautiful, romantic and peaceful
Staff was helpful and pleasant
Far away from most activities but location was peaceful if your looking for a place away from all the hustle and bustle

We loved the kayak and paddle board rentals and the staff were absolutely wonderful.
The view was absolutely stunning! Being able to see both the water and mountains was spectacular.

Very relaxing and great experience for first trip to Hawaii! Highly recommend a car but wonderful stay overall!
Great location and friendly staff
A few bugs, but given the location that’s expected. No breakfast but luckily we had a rental car to get around the island.

We loved our stay, and will definitely be back. I will book directly through the resort next time to get the room I I re
Excellent location, it was quiet and felt very private and secluded. Gorgeous views all around.
The “Mountain view” room wasn’t really a view of anything until we left the room, not at all what I was expecting. Unit 28, all you can see out of any windows is other units.

Nice place but the neighbours were disrespectful & took away from the serine atmosphere of this beautiful place 😕
Beautiful views from the balcony. Nice & hot spa & a large room with comfy beds.
Very noisy neighbours making a lot of noise very early & waking us up every morning that we were there!
Speaking very loudly, running up & down stairs which were close to our room. We could hear them above us & through the wall!

Very nice and beautiful spot to stay out away from Honolulu. Would probably stay there again.
Paradise Bay Resort was hidden in what appears to be a residential area. The place is beautiful! Pool, jacuzzi, kayaks, lawn chairs out on river/bay and very lush Hawaiian gardens. The staff is great and very helpful. The WIFI works great and they have a nice 'club house/lobby' to sit in and relax. I also like that they are right off of the 83 which puts you right next the the Valley of Temple, 10 minutes away from Kualoa Ranch, and 30 minutes for the Polynesian Cultural center. Lots of local places to eat near by and Safeway is 4 miles south of the resort and there are lots of beaches near by.
The room was very small, smaller than expected but it was functional since we were only there to sleep and then go. It would be nice if they had a small table in the room instead of a coffee table and they could use some better chairs to go with the table . We cooked breakfast on the hot plate and a table would have been great for eating and to set up my laptop to check work emails etc. We ate out on the porch most of the time. There is one AC unit in the bedroom and a ceiling fan in the front room. The AC window unit was noisy - which most of them are. We used white noise boxes to cut out most of the noise.

Try this resort if you want to escape Waikiki and explore the East and North coasts.
We ended up with a room that was not near the water as we had hoped for, but was up high and was even better! We had fantastic views of the water and the mountains beyond. The whole resort is an older style that has had work done on it to make it very usable. It is in basically a residential area and the staff were helpful with various requests we had. Its location was great for us exploring the north and east coasts prior to our stay in Waikiki.
This resort is a long way from anywhere but that can be part of its charm. A car is essential to access it and to even go out to a restaurant, yet $15US plus tax is charged each day for car parking! If this was just included in the fees, it would not be such an issue. On check in, I was told that coffee, fruit and banana bread would be available early in the morning. That sounded great, but irrespective of what time I rocked up in the morning, all that was left was the coffee and a couple of bits of fruit. Probably not worth mentioning really. The information on the Booking.com site says "An Aloha Nights Buffet Dinner is offered on Monday and Wednesday. Other activities include Pau Hana Friday's Dinner & Fireknife Show." These didn't happen, so they shouldn't be on that website.

The rest of the staff was excellent (except for the guy that checked our room) but the room is uncomfortable due to mold
We really like the location.
There was a musty smell in our room that didn’t go away. It smells like black mold. When we reported it, the maintenance guy said that he didn’t smell anything. (He must have gotten used to the smell I guess) We saw black mold inside the AC vent. There were also water damage at the bottom of the kitchen cabinet.I had an allergic reaction to the mold but we had no choice but to stay since there’s no other available hotels in the area that week. We didn’t turn the AC on at all to avoid the spread of mold spores. We kept our windows and doors open. 5 days that we had to deal with that. Also the pictures in your website is outdated.
