The Watergate Hotel, Washington

Very good breakfast. COmfortable room and very nice to be at the historical Watergate complex. The view to the Potomac was beautiful but as we were in a lower floor it was below expectations. Room is very well equiped in terms of cupboards and very spacious.

The view and location. The parking, valet and front desk staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast was excellent but extremely pricey.

Phone in room was not hooked up, I wasn't certain how to contact the front desk. There was a mouse running around the bar.

The room was wonderful and at a good location overlooking the river. The restaurant was really nice. Nice and friendly staff all all around.

Out of my control but the snow even though it was beautiful. For the amount of money for the stay parking should have been free. I was trying to schedule a spa or massage and was unable to book on line. Once we got there an attempt was made however the times weren't Is compatible to our stay.

Lovely historic hotel with a very good breakfast (albeit pricey). Well preserved exterior and reasonably modern interior. The view of the river is pleasant. Small details like the cup mats had information about the hotel and it's history which was a nice touch.

The lifts are in need of servicing and at times can be very loud, even in the rooms. The rooftop bar is closed over the winter period which we hadn't realised until we got up there. The price of the minibar/confectionary in the room was extortionate, made worse in that there are very limited options around for any such things.

The breakfast was a complete disappointment. They need to provide a higher quality and variety. Had it not beed for an amazing staff member, it would have been really disastrous for me.

The bread was hard and there were not that many choices. Just sub par. They need to elevate it for the place and price they charge.

Iconic, stylish and atmospheric, you can imagine clandestine meetings around every corner. Lovely view of the river Comfy bed and very nice bathroom Free cocktails were expertly made and a lovely surprise

It's a beautiful hotel and the staff is great. As a political history buff, it was also my wife's goal to stay there.

For such a high-end hotel, there are a few things I was surprised by. The carpets in the two rooms we rented were visibly worn and stretched. Also, the rooms do not offer modern amenities like blutooth speakers or streaming services.

The View from my room was amazing. The staff were always full of smiles and willing to help.

Heat in room did not work, phone gave issues. Bar prices were high two drinks cost me 90$. Howver I was given credit for these issues

Front desk gave us a better room at no extra charge. Of course I wouldn’t know the difference but it did look a lot bigger place than what I thought I ordered online. Room was pretty great and gave us some vibes. Wings were fantastic in house.

The front desk gave us a paper and told us breakfast was until 10:30. We came down a little after 10 and breakfast was not there and apparently the 30 minutes was for ala Carte service. Not explained clearly. The mini bar items etc are way too pricey. I mean seriously?

This is a comfortable and well managed hotel located with walking distance of Georgetown and the Mall. The view from the room onto the river was wonderful and we enjoyed quick access to the running tracks along the water.

The immediate surroundings are a bit desolate: it is a ten-minute walk to a good coffee shop and longer to a good place for lunch. Also valet parking only at $58/day is a bit steep.

The location is excellent for The Capitol, Rosslyn and Georgetown. Staff were very professional and friendly with the exception the roof top bar where they were neither. Views over the river are exceptional and room nicely appointed.

Did not Refill the essentials that I’ve used eg. water, Qtips. Side note the concierge had offer multiple waters whilst on my way out.

firstly the hotel was probably not our typical dwelling as we stayed at Hotel Zena last time which we love but we wanted to try something different around Georgetown. it was by the Potomac so that gave a different ambiance. Hotel was clean, pleasant vibe and the staff are amazing.

There was nothing negative to say about Watergate as it is a historical moment in time and it remains as such.

Room needs serious renovations. I upgraded my parents to a river view room suite and they had constant water noise from the toilet, sink not working, bathtub leaking, and what is worse, a dog barking all night.

I didn't like the huge roach that took over our dinner while my wife and I were on the roof top bar having drinks and finger foods. The waitress killed the bug and still charged us full price for the items. Complained to the front desk and still have not received a refund, discount or any accountability for the incident.

Location + size of room

The woodwork in the room is beautiful and remarkably still in good shape but the carpet in the room is old and while it may not be dirty, appears dirty. The walls are PAPER thin. We felt like our neighbors were in our room the entire time.

We liked the ambiance and the staff very much. It is a great place to stay if you are going to the Kennedy Center or places nearby.

The Kingbird restaurant was disappointing and very expensive. The food was mediocre for the price and not enough menu choices. That was probably the most disappointing thing and it set the tone for the entire stay for my partner. I think improving and expanding this would be very welcome. We decided not to stay an extra night due to the limited options. Also, no Keurig in the rooms and paper cups for coffee at this level of establishment I think is incongruous.

Iconic. Lovely staff. Fun decor. Great workout room. Excellent breakfast.

Only one thing. Next Whiskey Bar was not a great hotel bar and the cocktails were not worth the 25 bucks. Yes, nice hotels can charge that much but the drinks have to be perfect. And they were merely OK. We were going to go to the rooftop bar, but they closed it for bad weather. I guess in that location the view sort of justifies the prices, but let’s just bring the bar service up to the level of a first class hotel. Otherwise it was a great stay!!!!!

Super nice staff and great location and history

Elevators so so so slow. The AC was not very powerful in the room. And it turned off when you left.

We really enjoyed staying at the watergate hotel it is a great location for walking to most things in dc including the monuments and Georgetown. Really good size rooms and bathroom. Very comfortable beds.

The only small criticism we would have is the coffee making was not in the room. To get coffee we had to go to the lobby make it and take it back to the room. Not sure why the hotel has implemented this service.

I was given a complimentary upgrade after questioning whether the bed was in fact a king size. the front desk was so accommodating

the people make this property. outstanding staff from front door to front desk to maintenance to servers and restaurant team members, breakfast and lounge.

the gym has dated treadmills and the lights go out in the entire gym while you’re on the treadmill if no one else is in there. the first night I was there, the lights in my room wouldn’t turn off. maintenance came and was not able to fix it so I had to move rooms and the room I was moved to was not as nice as the room I was originally in. the front desk was accommodating and said they’re comp my breakfasts but then the breakfasts ended up being charged to me anyway so that was a bit of hassle trying to clear that up. Also, I paid for my entire stay in advance, and then the card I presented at check in (for incidentals and extra charges) was charged for my entire stay! so until that got cleared up. I was out of pocket for the cost of the entire 6 days on two forms of payment. not a great feeling.

Rainforest spa shower, heavenly king bed and extra room to do my daily pilates in room or at fitness center. The hotel has panels in wood curved like a Darwinesque vessel.

Helicopters seem to keep following me around washington dc like a buzzfeed. Not sure what that's about.

I specifically booked and wanted a river view room and received a room that faced buildings. if you broke your neck and looked to the far right, you could see a bit of the river but definitely disappointed with the “river view” The pool closed at 9p. I understand it’s standard for pools to have hours in most places but by the time I would get back to the hotel and settled, I only had maybe 30 minutes to enjoy the pool before closing
