I liked the classic decorations and designs. It’s not like every Hotel that you go, it’s kind of historical.

It’s understandable that the building is old but I think they need to do more renovations. The Hotel was really busy and we didn’t have hot water we called reception they told us we have to leave the water go for 5-10 min to get hot water. They quickly sent someone up, he left the water go for 10 min and we had hot water.

The lack of fridge space because the one in the room is full of hotel offered items. The room is very small and the bathroom light switch is outside of the bathroom. Wifi was paid, not included with your stay. The water in the bathroom takes 5-10 minutes to heat for a shower and even then, does not get truly hot. There was no shampoo or conditioner in the bottles and we had to call down for some. We also did not have facial tissue in the room, just toilet paper. The information book about the hotel was tucked in a drawer and was not found until the day we were leaving. It should be out in the open. The safe did not have enough battery power to function.

Nice and quiet , we liked the gel and shampoo dispensers in the shower. Of course the location is great for train and local scene.

We saw no evidence of Recycling. Maybe those containers were for recycling but they were the wrong colour if that’s what they were. Soap bars should be replaced with gel.

Check in and check out were fast and straight forward. Valet parking was quick and efficient All hotel staff were very professional and friendly.

Library room food service was slow and seating was cramped. Reign restaurant was cramped. There were very limited vegan dining options. Internet service was not complementary.

Staff were helpful. Toiletries were lovely. We enjoyed our view and couldn't be closer to Union station.

loved the restaurants, although had a night cap at the clock bar around 10 p.m and was put on guard when a drugged out person came and sat in the chair across from me, need a little more security for the money i am spending.

the room looked nothing like the kind deluxe i had booked, bathroom was extremely outdated and a little gross to be honest. Going to be hard pressed for me to stay here again, I have stayed at the fairmont quite a few times but i think this is the last, unless there is some way to win me . Your staff is fantastic and the atmosphere outside of your rooms are great ( minus the druggies ). Hopefully you guys can put some money into renovating rooms as the pic on booking.com looked drastically different from the room i stayed in.

This is not my first visit to the Royal York, but this time, the overall experience was disappointing. The bathroom was outdated and in need of repairs (such as the old lights above the sink, which gave it a motel-like appearance). The grout was not clean. Very disappointing. The side elevators are quite bad. Check-in was a bit disorganized. Initially, a gentleman who appeared to be the head receptionist directed me, in a very rushed manner, to the line “on the other side” of the pillar. However, when I got there, I noticed that other people started forming a different line and were served before me. I ended up waiting about 15–20 minutes to check in, while people who arrived after me were helped first. Complete chaos.

Perfect location! Right across from Union Station, easy access to everything in the downtown core, including the PATH, which provides indoor walking option to Rogers Center, Ripley's Aquarium, and the CN Tower. The hotel itself was nicely appointed with attentive staff and beautiful lobby area.

Unfortunately, the pool was not available during our stay as it was undergoing maintenance.

My corner queen room was tucked away at the end of a short hallway but close to the elevator. It was quiet, had a lovely layout with windows on 2 sides and perfect size for 1 person. I like having in room Nespresso machine, free bottled water, a mini bar, full-length mirror, clothing steamer, and separate fridge. Extremely comfortable bed with nice linens. Booked same day and got great rate.

The bathroom floor obviously hadn't been mopped in some time, and on an overcast morning the room was quite dark even with all the lights on and the curtains open. The Valet parking is very expensive and the self park options nearby aren't very convenient and not much savings, particularly on a weekday.

Bathroom was dated. Could have been cleaner too. Television did not function. Maintenance person fixed it, but it stopped functioning fully after an hour. If we are paying such a high rate, everything should work!!

It is a nice hotel. The interior is beautiful and you can see the historical touches within the walls/floors etc. The bar in the lobby is nice and has a cool vibe. The check in/check out was quick. The hotel faces the train station which is very helpful for people. Room service was good.

The location was not the best to discover the downtown. We had to walk a lot to reach the center/hyped areas. The rooms are a little outdated.

It was unreasonable to pay for wifi in the room

There were a couple of initial issues checking in and with the room that were disappointing but the manager Jem was very professional and looked after things which we were appreciative of. This is a historic and very beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. The lobby is stunning, particularly at Christmas time. This hotel is therefore popular with locals and tourists alike and the bars/ restaurants can get very busy. In my experience I’d recommend booking all meals in advance. The library bar did amazing cocktails and the wine bar is lovely too, this area also serves as a nice cosy spot for coffee and breakfast in the morning. The room was very comfortable, with a view of the CN tower. One of the room attendants, Dino was very friendly and went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. Union station is right across the street, the subway is really easy to use, clean and inexpensive to get around the city. You’re also just a short walk away from the lake.

The hotel would benefit from opening an additional seating lounge, perhaps this would just be required at busy times for the hotel or an area reserved solely for hotel guests. When you’re a guest at a hotel you don’t expect to be turned away from the bar/ restaurant areas due to capacity constraints. There were some inconsistencies with the courtesy displayed and professionalism of staff members. I appreciate this is a very large hotel but at times it seemed like for a hotel of this calibre the overall management could have been better.

Some miscommunication with regards to closing times of the lobby bars, but it was made right by the front desk staff.

The Room was right next to the elevator shaft. The Elevator Shaft doesn’t seem to have an acoustic barrier to the room, therefore the noise of the elevator in operation was quite prominent throughout the night.

The staff were excellent without exception. Such a historic building to stay in, very comfortable and very convenient! I asked for a lake view and I got one, a lovely view facing the front. Very nice gym (s) too. Lovely bars, although rather too busy post-Xmas / New Year period.

The walls are a bit thin so I heard children, dogs, cleaners, other guests. Check in took about an hour, but that's because everyone wants to stay in such a historic hotel, I guess. The steam room was disappointing, way too small and you have to operate it yourself, which I wasn't expecting.

Bed was comfy, pool was lovely, saunas and steam room was a nice bonus, lobby is stunning, room was clean, bathrobes were a nice touch, staff were so kind and quick to bring earplugs and toothpaste requested. Macarons were left for us in our room with a card. I'm not sure if this is because I indicated our stay was for a baby moon, but this was also a nice touch :)

There is no way an expensive fancy hotel should charge $15 per day for wifi - this should be included the way it is literally every where else in 2024. It's giving budget airline. Parking should be more affordable or even included with the high hotel cost - we parked in the Wellington lot but for multiple night stay at the hotel, there should be a partnership/deal worked out with the hotel and the lot owner for a 24 hour period charge, not for every day and night. Or if there is one, it should be clear and included in the confirmation email.

It’s was very clean, and very unique with all the vintage pieces throughout the building. It’s very close to a lot of different amenities.

restaurants closed too early. Way to busy with non-hotel patrons, wasn't able to get a drink at lobby bar due to crowds. Confirmed with guest services that congratulations note was to be placed in room, was not provided.

Definitely not 5*. Pros-The location is great, the lobby is stunning and the staff were great. We got a discounted rate, and we only stayed one night, do it was perfect for this. If I paid full rate, I would be disappointed.

Cons- Rooms are pretty basic, and the pool was run down and cold.

I loved the layout of the building.

It was beautiful, and decorated festively, for the Christmas season.

Service was locking in some respects. We ordered breakfast in the room our first morning in the city. We placed the breakfast trays in the hallway outside of our room, after we were done. To our surprise, these breakfast dishes were never They were collected, despite my having made two calls to reception.. We were assured that they would be collected, but they were not. When we checked out, later the following day, the dishes were still on the floor in the hallway.

Lovely room and a surprisingly good size. The hotel is beautiful, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

There was a lot of noise coming from a Christmas party downstairs. Also, it seems ridiculous that parking is an extra $70/night given the cost of the rooms, likewise with breakfast.

Breakfast was overpriced. It was $34 for eggs and bacon. They charge 3x more than Sunset Grill or Cora. Breakfast was $80 for two. The lineup for check-in was extremely long and they didn’t have our room ready until after 7pm. It was very noisy from 2am to 3am on Saturday. Was there a hockey tournament?

First of all, location, near little canada and the distillery winter village 5-9 minutes all. Christmas decorations are awesome. Many dinning options inside the hotel.

The bed pillows are not comfortable.

There was no fitted sheet on the bed. It was a flat sheet that kept pulling out and gathering up under me.
