It was unreasonable to pay for wifi in the room

There were a couple of initial issues checking in and with the room that were disappointing but the manager Jem was very professional and looked after things which we were appreciative of. This is a historic and very beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. The lobby is stunning, particularly at Christmas time. This hotel is therefore popular with locals and tourists alike and the bars/ restaurants can get very busy. In my experience I’d recommend booking all meals in advance. The library bar did amazing cocktails and the wine bar is lovely too, this area also serves as a nice cosy spot for coffee and breakfast in the morning. The room was very comfortable, with a view of the CN tower. One of the room attendants, Dino was very friendly and went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. Union station is right across the street, the subway is really easy to use, clean and inexpensive to get around the city. You’re also just a short walk away from the lake.

The hotel would benefit from opening an additional seating lounge, perhaps this would just be required at busy times for the hotel or an area reserved solely for hotel guests. When you’re a guest at a hotel you don’t expect to be turned away from the bar/ restaurant areas due to capacity constraints. There were some inconsistencies with the courtesy displayed and professionalism of staff members. I appreciate this is a very large hotel but at times it seemed like for a hotel of this calibre the overall management could have been better.

Some miscommunication with regards to closing times of the lobby bars, but it was made right by the front desk staff.

The Room was right next to the elevator shaft. The Elevator Shaft doesn’t seem to have an acoustic barrier to the room, therefore the noise of the elevator in operation was quite prominent throughout the night.

The staff were excellent without exception. Such a historic building to stay in, very comfortable and very convenient! I asked for a lake view and I got one, a lovely view facing the front. Very nice gym (s) too. Lovely bars, although rather too busy post-Xmas / New Year period.

The walls are a bit thin so I heard children, dogs, cleaners, other guests. Check in took about an hour, but that's because everyone wants to stay in such a historic hotel, I guess. The steam room was disappointing, way too small and you have to operate it yourself, which I wasn't expecting.

Bed was comfy, pool was lovely, saunas and steam room was a nice bonus, lobby is stunning, room was clean, bathrobes were a nice touch, staff were so kind and quick to bring earplugs and toothpaste requested. Macarons were left for us in our room with a card. I'm not sure if this is because I indicated our stay was for a baby moon, but this was also a nice touch :)

There is no way an expensive fancy hotel should charge $15 per day for wifi - this should be included the way it is literally every where else in 2024. It's giving budget airline. Parking should be more affordable or even included with the high hotel cost - we parked in the Wellington lot but for multiple night stay at the hotel, there should be a partnership/deal worked out with the hotel and the lot owner for a 24 hour period charge, not for every day and night. Or if there is one, it should be clear and included in the confirmation email.

It’s was very clean, and very unique with all the vintage pieces throughout the building. It’s very close to a lot of different amenities.

restaurants closed too early. Way to busy with non-hotel patrons, wasn't able to get a drink at lobby bar due to crowds. Confirmed with guest services that congratulations note was to be placed in room, was not provided.

Definitely not 5*. Pros-The location is great, the lobby is stunning and the staff were great. We got a discounted rate, and we only stayed one night, do it was perfect for this. If I paid full rate, I would be disappointed.

Cons- Rooms are pretty basic, and the pool was run down and cold.

I loved the layout of the building.

It was beautiful, and decorated festively, for the Christmas season.

Service was locking in some respects. We ordered breakfast in the room our first morning in the city. We placed the breakfast trays in the hallway outside of our room, after we were done. To our surprise, these breakfast dishes were never They were collected, despite my having made two calls to reception.. We were assured that they would be collected, but they were not. When we checked out, later the following day, the dishes were still on the floor in the hallway.

Lovely room and a surprisingly good size. The hotel is beautiful, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

There was a lot of noise coming from a Christmas party downstairs. Also, it seems ridiculous that parking is an extra $70/night given the cost of the rooms, likewise with breakfast.

No free wifi or mini fridge which is surprising for a hotel of this quality. Bathroom was small and squished. Shower needs renovation.

Breakfast was overpriced. It was $34 for eggs and bacon. They charge 3x more than Sunset Grill or Cora. Breakfast was $80 for two. The lineup for check-in was extremely long and they didn’t have our room ready until after 7pm. It was very noisy from 2am to 3am on Saturday. Was there a hockey tournament?

First of all, location, near little canada and the distillery winter village 5-9 minutes all. Christmas decorations are awesome. Many dinning options inside the hotel.

The bed pillows are not comfortable.

There was no fitted sheet on the bed. It was a flat sheet that kept pulling out and gathering up under me.

The tile in the shower was very slippery. Had to put a towel down to keep from falling. Also there was a blob of someone’s hair in the shower.

The staff was great for most of our trip.

The parking is just unbelievably complicated. And the staff will give you absolutely no help. We paid for parking and still got a ticket, no one we spoke to could tell us how to fix this. 4 different staff members provided 4 different responses. Speak to the valet team? Tried that, didn’t have a clue. Speak to the concierge? They don’t know but maybe the front desk does. Ask the front desk? No, because they believe it’s handled by the building across the street. Speak to the security desk across the street? No, they just handle the property above ground. Honestly, I couldn’t believe this historic building can’t figure out parking. Finally had to go through the website for some 3rd party. Have to show the receipt and parking ticket in one photo. But, outside of that I did enjoy my stay. It’s a great place and most of the staff are amazing. The location is just great.

Location was great! Walking distance to CN tower, Scotiabank stadium and Hockey Hall of fame.

Having to pay for WiFi is something minor, but such a turn off! Especially if you welcome international travelers who don’t have a data plan, you’d forse them. Can’t name one place in Europe or the US where it wasn’t included in the last couple of years. The rooms are very run down, the hallways had holes covered up but not pained. Body lotion in the room empty all days during our stay. At check out (11:40) only one staff member manning the front desk - resulting in long lines. It didn’t have the ‘grand’ feeling you’d expect.

The room was clean. Linen and towels were clean.

Breakfast was not included in room rate. Bathroom door handle from inside was broken I had to call the bell desk multiple times to request someone to pick up my luggage but no one came. I had to bring it down myself after waiting 25 min for some to come.

The hotel is in a good location and it is easy to access everywhere, but compared to the money you pay, you don't see an interesting room, the room had no air conditioning at all and you had to open the window to change the air, the view of the window is towards a wall with There were only windows for the luxury queen room. During my stay, one day when I was sitting in the lounge and relaxing, a group of staff came to the hotel lobby to strike and loudly protested. This was understandable, but I expected an apology email from the Hotel which never happened,I was checking something with reception and asked if this is going to continue, and the receptionist guy gave me his attitude look said no and did not apologize.

Breakfast was phenomenal,staff was exceptionally helpful! Perfect location for our intentions and proximity to the main purpose for our trip. Very accommodating to our needs when we arrived prior to actual check in.took care of our bag and messaged us when the room was ready and our bag was awaiting us in the room. I don’t think we really took advantage of all the imeneties but also didn’t take advantage of asking. My bad

Not much in your control really. A better view but being on the 14th floor I really shouldn’t expect more.the city has just grown around you. I didn’t ask what was included in the package for our stay I fear that I made a poor choice for an overnight stay. Would I make the same choice again? Very likely but maybe for a less expensive room.

Centrally located, maybe not the best area of the city it but wasn't bad. In front of Union station. Horton's right around the corner for early morning breakfast/coffee. Covered self-parking was around 25(?)/day with direct access to hotel (piper st alley (hard to find) or via wellington). Steak was really good.

Dead roach in room, and the housekeeper missed it every time... Yea I could have mentioned it but wanted to see how well they cleaned. Coffee machine was broken but was replaced on day 2. Desserts were 'fine' and a little on the small side. Burger was 'ok'. Internet access is expensive (two tiers, first one was fine), it should be standard for what this place costs. Valet parking is expensive so do homework on the parking garage on Wellington. I am all for splurging at a Luxury hotel, but little things need improvements.

Convenient location opposite Union station where the train for Pearson Int’l airport arrives. The hotel connects directly to the PATH, the underground network of streets and shops and services. The Fairmont is beautiful historic building which we really enjoyed seeing. It is well appointed and comfortable.

Our room was next to the service lift shaft so a bit of extra noise there. The lobby bar is very popular in the after work hours so noise levels were cacophonous and off putting for us.

Check in and out were easy. Hotel is gorgeous.

Concierge Sylvia was very helpful and pleasant.

Lack of MSNBC on TV channels was a significant loss. I will advise my friends.
