Fairmont Royal York Hotel, Toronto

The staff especially Nasir at Royal Service and Elmer in the 18th floor lounge. Rooms and beds comfy and nice pillows. Brilliant location for train station.

I had to switch rooms twice due to noisy air conditioning units and roadworks. Also think solo travellers would be better not placed amongst a floor of families with kids they can’t control! Walls quite thin between rooms and sadly had a tantrum child in room next door and very shouty father.

Fantastic stay

Staff were very kind, helpful and accommodating. From the front desk, to the bellmen and housekeeping staff.

There was absolutely no place to unpack our clothes. There was only 1 drawer in the night stand. The rooms really need some dressers. At the price we pay,we should have a place to put our clothes.

It was convenient position to be next to Union Station to walk across the road to Front St. The Fairmont Royal York is very clean and lovely staff.

Perfect room, comfy bed and very close to the train station and all Toronto has to offer

Paid over $1000.00 to stay here for the night with everything included and there was a bathtub in the bathroom of my hotel room. Update the bathrooms to glass showers unless you have a separate shower/bathtub. For the price of the room that’s unacceptable. Otherwise stay was great.

Everything! Beautiful hotel! Room had comfortable bed and plenty of space. We had requested a roll away bed and fridge.Staff were super friendly and helpful.

This was our first stop on the cross Canada trip and the most luxurious. The hotel has tons of history and is in a very central area of Toronto. Great for being walkable to view the city. Comfortable beds and good sized room. The staff was a bit unapproachable but we did not have any issues.

Well organised, beautifully decorated with amendable staff.

The facilities in the pool could have been a bit better signposted, didn’t find the steam room until I was leaving

Beautiful hotel! Staff were professional and friendly. Rooms were lovely. Food and drinks were top tier. Location is amazing. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to fellow travellers.

I didn't realise how prestigious the Fairmont Royal York Hotel was before we arrived. I had upgraded to the Fairmont Gold Experience for our 4-night stay. From arriving at the front door to reception, and being taken to our room, it was first-class. The Fairmont Gold Lounge on the 18th Floor was a luxury well worth the upgrade, featuring a Deluxe breakfast station, Afternoon Tea, Evening Hors D'oeuvres, and Canapés, along with great city views. We made sure not to miss any of these. Bars and Restaurants are exceptional, staff are friendly and very proud of the hotel. Check out the pictures of Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh, who visited on 2 occasions, I believe. I have travelled overseas to many hotels, and the Fairmont Royal York is Number 1 !!

Gold club lounge was amazing!

The staff were extremely helpful and professional. The facilities were impeccable and the location was amazing. The private lounge and check-in on the 18th floor were very comfortable and a great addition to the Fairmont Gold experience.

The location is convenient relative to key attractions, especially baseball stadium, hockey hall of fame. The service at check-in was exceptional (Mr Nazir was a pleasure)

Parking is $100 / day and not clearly advertised as such (only told at checkout); room was not clean (hair in bathroom, dusty room); facilities are tired - furniture in the room is worn down etc.

The breakfast was a lot more expensive than I would normally pay, but the quality of the food, the efficiency and politeness of the staff and the general ambiance of the restaurant won me over! The location of the hotel was perfect as I was using Union station every day. Overall it is a very classy hotel.

Difficult to find fault but if there was anything and it’s a minor gripe, when I came back to the room most of the lights were on and could have been for a long time as I was, generally, back in the early evening. Multiple that by 1300 rooms and potentially thats a very large extra on the electricity bill.

The security guy prohibited me from taking pictures with my camera, thinking it was too professional. So untrue. Didn’t understand that we could do about the same with our iPhone. I totally disagreed with his decision.

My stay at Fairmont Gold was seamless from start to finish. Check-in was smooth, and the welcome warm and genuine. The turndown service and thoughtful extra amenities that come with Gold really stood out. Breakfast offered a great variety overall, the experience was thoroughly enjoyable. I’ll definitely be back.

I missed my arrival cocktail, but that’s a minor detail also breakfast was chaotic in the lounge.

Staff was very hospitable and location was great. The rooms and facilities were very clean and up to the standard for 5 star hotels.

It was a beautiful hotel and located right in the middle of everything!

The only thing we didn’t like was that there wasn’t free WiFi. We’ve never been to a hotel that didn’t offer guests free WiFi so we were disappointed in that.

Location, clean rooms and facilities, excellent restaurant and bar, amazing decor.

Bed size should be larger.

Excellent location exactly in the middle of all the attractions we were interested in visiting. Multiple trips to the GTA and this is our preferred place to book at.

Downside is being opposite Union Station which at times is very congested with over hurried Ubers,taxis,Lyft drivers whom I’m convinced are former Formula One or Indy Car drivers who still think York street is the racetrack. Makes me wonder if I need to start wearing my hockey gear while walking down the front of Front street!
