Hostel Nui, Tokyo

ambiance of cafe downstairs is great, food as well. room size was perfectly fine.

location is not the closest to the train station but its just fine. bike rental by the hotel was way more expensive than usual. didn't quite get to connect with other hostel stayers but maybe a longer stay would have helped.

Relaxed vibe in a peaceful location of Kuramae! Very easy to get to from the airport - one train and they stored my luggage. Check in not until 4pm, but as I arrived from London at 9am the reception was kind enough to let me in at 2:30pm for a nap. I had a private room with shared facilities- toilet and shower. I think this place is fantastic value for money. All other guests very quiet and respectful of each other. The bar downstairs is actually so relaxing to sit alone/read/write or just have a gin and tonic after a day of sightseeing! Very cosy vibe and played great music. I enjoyed this place so much, I am returning when I come back to Tokyo!

Rooms were good and equipped with good airco.

We slept on the girls only floor. So when i needed to shower and pee i needed to go to an other floor. Not that big a problem bit still a tiny bit annoying

Staff friendly and professional. Great attention to cleaning. Lovely ambience in the bar/cafe area. Useful to have kitchen for food prep and good to have tea and coffee provided. Near to metro station.

I loved the vibes of the first floor. Having a drink and some food on the first floor before heading up to my room and a well-kept hostel environment that provides just about everything you need. It's also close to convenient stores and some good mainline trains.

Honestly, nothing. I would definitely come back here again.

The staff was incredibly kind and forth coming, always ready to help and share tips about Japan. It was extremely clean and would recommend as a woman to go to the woman rooms: just because men store lol. The location was walking distance from shrines and ultimate cherry blossom viewings. And was meters away from the train station. it was perfect.

The staff were very organised and helpful always responded promptly on email. The 11pm curfew is also a very good idea.

Best and most attentive staff for the hostel. So welcoming and helped me in so many ways when they didn’t have to. The vibe and situation was also great!

Overall, I had a lovely experience at Nui. The staff were wonderful, and the shared amenities were excellent—there was even a bath in one of the bathrooms, which I absolutely loved. While the rooms were on the smaller side, they were still very comfortable.

The bed was a bit firm, and the noise from outside could be quite loud, but they provide earplugs, which was a thoughtful touch.

The hostel was in a great location, quiet but still super close to the liveliness of Asakusa. All the staff was super friendly which created a friendly vibe among the travellers. Breakfast was incredible and the value was well worth the money!

Had an incredible stay here. It is in a great neighborhood of Tokyo, easily reached from either airport with no transfers by train. It has an amazing vibe and is cozy and not a large hostel so it’s easy to meet people in the rooms and common room. The beds are extremely comfortable. The showers have soap and shampoo included. The breakfast is delicious as is the coffee. I love that the rooms have codes so you don’t need a key to get in. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Very charming bar and cafe with great breakfast options. Bed was very sturdy and comfortable with nice linens.

Sometimes roommates were a little annoying (snoring, etc.) but can hardly hold that against the hotel. Located very close to rail stations for getting around Tokyo, but the area it’s located in is a little sleep compared to other more active locations like Shibuya.

Amazing lounge and bar, such a great atmosphere. Great coffee (expresso) and french toast was divine!

It’s an attractive property aesthetically. It is a calm location along the Sumida River. Breakfast was of good quality. The facilities were clean.

If you are stupid like me and are finishing up your epic snowboard trip and have to cart around 3 bags, then I would suggest that you do not stay here as the subways are not easy to navigate with a lot of luggage due to all the stairs. I would suggest staying closer to the JR Yamanote Line instead. The hostel does not want any hostel guests to use the cafe/bar downstairs to eat their own food/drinks, this area is off limits, you need to go up to the 6th floor to eat your own food and drink.

The hostel is in quiet Kuramae, away from other crazy and crowded Tokyo areas but easy to get with metro which is in 5 min walk distance. The beautifully designed top floor common room and good equipped kitchen were very comfortable, it felt like a living room and it was nice to meet other guests there any time of the day. Bathrooms are large enough with many showers, no need to wait.

The private double room is quite small, was good for me as a solo traveler but a second person wouldn’t find a space for a second luggage or even stand comfortably at the same time.

Absolutely amazing. I loved how clean and well maintained the hostel is. The location was just perfect: few minutes to metro stations, walkable distance to Asakusa’s main attractions, close to the river. The district is also very silent so I slept very well at night. The kitchen is well equipped and WiFi works very good. Also I met other amazing women there and we went for Valentines dinner together! It’s a great place for solo travelers to meet other people.

Everything was amazing! Great staff, great vibe with the bar/cafe downstair. Have a locker room for your bag that they let you use for the day when check out or before check in.

My last night in Japan after a busy week in Sapporo was a seamless and enjoyable stay, with helpful staff, great meals, convenient luggage storage, and an easy journey from Haneda—perfect for unwinding before departure.

How short my stay was. The next time I'm in Tokyo, my partner and I plan to stay at Nui.

Really a great hostel with a nice and cozy atmosphere in the common areas. Sweet and helpful staff. The shared bathroom was Well furnished as well as the kitchen. We definitely enjoyed our stay !

The rooms were a bit too cold and pretty small (had a Room for 2).

Funky hostel in Asakusa, located very near Kuramae metro station and riverside walkway. We stayed in a private room with bunk beds for two. The beds were super comfy. The hostel had everything we needed. The bathrooms were well equipped and had excellent showers. The downstairs café was a cool place to hang out.

It was a little bit noisy at night – bring earplugs.

Really nice and fancy hostel. My first impression was wow. I would stay again. It is well located..5 min walking distance from the underground. The lounge/bar area is really cozy and coffee was great! I stayed in a female dorm and overall, I really enjoyed my stay.

Lockers are quite small. And remember to bring with you a towel otherwise you have to rent it.

The double room with river view is nice and spacious but also faces the highway so I needed to wear earplugs at night. With earplugs I was able to sleep comfortably though, it wasn’t too bad. I stayed in a different room after when a friend arrived and that one didn’t have the same issue

Loved the little cafe/bar downstairs. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable, everybody was so nice and I love the little kitchen area on the top floor.

Pretty quiet but I wished the door to the room made it more quiet with sound proofing from the hallway.

Nice common room with decent kitchen and roof terrace, everything you'd expect from a hostel. Location was good with easy access to the Metro system, although a bit away from the main attractions.

Great place to meet people either in the dorm or the common room for solo travelers. Beds were very comfortable and dorms had plenty of space for designated luggage storage. Lockers were provided in the room. The staff were also very helpful and understanding :)

Wifi was spotty and would drop out consistently. The downstairs breakfast/bar was a little expensive for hostel guests imo. A lot of subway-ing needed due to the location; although within ~5 minute walk to 2 major lines.

Extremely clean bathroom and room, awesome coffee / food just at the ground Floor. Has a great rooftop for you to chill or smoke. The hostel is also located next to like a river so it's very beautiful and chill

Really feel like home, super cosy cafe and close to the metro. Rooms are small but enough space for 2 and shared bathrooms are clean.

The walls are thin so we could hear the people talking and moving around the floors, which was quite annoying after midnight. But I guess it’s not the hostel fault but the behaviours of people :)
