Hostel Nui, Tokyo

I had a nice stay at Nui Hostel. I stayed in the dorm and it was very comfortable. There was absolutely no noise coming from the bar at the ground floor. I enjoyed particularly the facilities, like the open area on the 6th floor reserved for the hotel guests, ideal to do some work, to relax or to cook yourself something. The hotel is not on the Yamanote line, which for me was not a problem at all. I actually appreciated greatly how close it is to Senso-ji in Asakusa, and I would definitely recommend it especially if it's not your first time in Tokyo and you are looking forward to explore the eastern wards of the city (Taito, Sumida, Bunkyo, ecc).

I booked the room + breakfast. The food was good, but quite inexplicably there is no coffee/tea included. That's another 500Y I had to pay every morning. What's the point to serve breakfast without coffee or tea?

I loved the lounge and bar for its style and offer, and also the kitchen/common room for its social mingling.

I found it hard to store, sort, pack and unpack. The common area was relatively small and packed compared to other hostels I have been in.

We began and ended our 3-week Japan trip at Nui, and it was fantastic! The vibe is amazing, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. We loved starting our mornings with coffee before exploring Tokyo and winding down with a beer in the evening—it's a great hangout spot. Rooms are small but comfortable and clean, and the bathrooms are excellent.

Close to public transport- very friendly helpful staff - other international travellers to chat with- the meals at the bar were great- walking by the river close by- cleanliness

Very clean and very comfortable.

Staff is very kind and welcoming. The events that Nui staff set up helped me meet lots of people. Yuki and Shota made my Japan trip experience amazing. The common room is a nice place to hang out at. Bathrooms are good, there are a good amount of toilets and showers.

Superb excellent location, ~850m from Senso-ji and close to metro station and less than a minute walk to the river. Absolutely loved the location, accessibility, kind staff to also get me a super-early morning check-in without any added cost. They’ve such a quaint beautiful work-friendly bar. All the staff is very friendly and kind. The hostel gets a good crowd and you get to connect well with people.

I just love it ! the hostel design and architecture was very neat! mix of Japonese and industrial style. They have everything to make your stay smooth. I loved the kitchen ( they even have ice!) Very good location with different subway around and convenience stores. The staff is dedicated to make the place clean and welcoming, Thank you for everything.

This is my third time staying in Nui. It is one of my favorites by far. Location is great, but it's also relaxes. The facilities are amazing, the cafe/ bar is a super hip place loved by locals. I love it.

Great breakfast!

The refined and well stocked bar, the cafe with the flower shop set up inside providing decor but also a sense of community. As such the ground floor area intermixing these elements draws locals and travellers alike, and provides a cool ambience to while away time, meet new people or simply enjoy the great food and drink. It feels pretty novel in this sense and a much more holistic experience than a hotel or travellers only hostel. Staff are excellent

I reserved a single room. It was comfortable enough bunk bed setup in a small concrete room, not great value for the price but then its not really the main reason you choose to stay here. It's a quiet residential area but well served with transport links and has the Sensoji temple nearby. Provides a nice counterpoint vs staying in say the madness of Shibuya, so I would rate this as a positive, but if you're a mad crazy party animal that only wants uptime, stay elsewhere. The cafe/bar is really cool, slightly expensive but really stylish; the food is great and the drinks are very well-made and well-poured. There's a rooftop and an outdoor area for smoking, and there's a common area with a good kitchen and laundry facilities (100 yen per use) on the 6th floor. There are lockers free to use in the dorm rooms but you'll need your own padlock. The beds are relatively comfortable in a bunk-bed (as opposed to capsule) style with curtains that are ok for blocking the light.

The location is great, the hostel is really nice in terms of design. You can also meet heaps of local if you speak japanese as on the ground floor they have a cafe. Bed is comfortable and shower is good.

One day when I was at the cafe some of the staff said me that I couldn't be there because the space was for guests. But this happened only 1 time in 6 days of staying.

The hostel is very clean, the bathrooms are the best part of the hostel to be honest, Japan standard haha. Friendly staff and nice bar inside the hostel, which is great to make some friends around

The location is not very good if you want to stay near Shibuya area or similar. 30 minutes by train, but the train station is a 7-minute walk from the hostel.

This place slaps. It has that perfectly chill and grungy hostel feel while still being super safe, secure, nice, and full of amenities. The lobby cafe food is so good and so popular with even the locals they were shooting a commercial for local tv one day I was there. The rooftop has an amazing view of the canal and the sky tree. Close to a lot of cool things. Kappabashi kitchen street, sensoji temple, short ride to Ginza or Akihabara.

There were almost too many locals in the lobby it made it hard to meet other travelers

The common areas seem taken out of a pinterest picture. The upper floor holds a very nice kitchen and common room to work, chill, study or meet people. Very convenient for those seeking some time for themselves. There is an iMAC to work on. Plenty of bathrooms, and showers on every single floor. The staff was extremely friendly and kind. The first floor, which is restaurant/bar, is a great area to meet local people and foreigners.

The price is a little bit higher than usual, and the bar below is what I would say is pricey, expect to pay 600 yen for your coffee and probably 2000 yen if you go for a course and a drink. However, nobody is making you go there, so it's up to you. It's a great add on to a hostel.

It was a calm, clean and well decorated space. The staff were also amazing, pleasant and kind.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. It’s also in good location, near subway station and other tourist spot (Asakusa, Ueno, Akihabara). The rental bike rent is reasonable and we can ride it to many tourist spots. The facilities are nice and clean. The decoration makes you feel really comfortable. The best part is the AC is always on and the room temperature is great. After a long hot summer day in Tokyo, being in comfy room with nice temperature is super good for traveller.

Everything was fantastic! Right from check-in, to the room and facilities, and the bar. I stayed here as a solo female traveller for my first 2 nights in Tokyo and it was the best location for arriving from Narita airport and easing into a big city! I explored the nearby temples, museums, parks and Tokyo Skytree, all within walking distance or a short train ride.

Nice location. Close to my key tourists areas. Close to station. I liked the river view from my room on 4th floor. Access to Cafe. Nice Crowd. Helpful and friendly staff.

I couldn't really sleep at night due to late night party scenes in the cafe. People come outside the cafe and it's difficult to avoid the crowded noise till late night. It's a great place to stay for night owls.

Very chill hostel in a quiet street but super close to the metro station, so very convenient to explore different areas of Tokyo! The common area and kitchen were very nice and clean, there is also a great rooftop, and downstairs there is a bar where you can have a drink or something to eat.

This is the most social hostel I've ever stayed at. Had a wonderful time in a very comfortable environment, with a very nearby train station on a good line. The bar downstairs is really excellent, and the facilities upstairs are great. All the staff were absolutely wonderful. Only a few minutes walk to the subway.

At this price, I expected more amenities provided; other hostels & capsule hotels provide towels, razors, even aftershave for free. (Nui offers some of these for a modest cost)

The bar and coffee shop is a really cool space and quite buzzy. Sociable upstairs lounge and easy to meet people. Was all clean and dorms were quiet and everyone was respectful. Would definitely stay there again when back in Tokyo.

Hard to find faults. If you want to go out a lot it’s quite a pricy taxi back after trains stop.

The properties very close to the train station. The staff was really excellent, and my bed was so spacious. The bathroom facilities were kept up. Honestly it was a great hostel.

I forgot to do this but the best hostel I’ve stayed at. The staff are lovely, personable and were super accomodating. The rooftop for guests is great to meet people or debrief after a long day in the city. Everything was super clean. I extended my stay after enjoying it so much and will stay here again, it was a great experience.
