Hotel Ovolo 1888 Darling Harbour, Sydney

Great location. The room was lovely and bright withnatural light. Nice big bathroom.

Loved the boutique-style reception area and the charm of Mr Percy’ bar. The 1888 Woolstore era was evident. The rooms had plenty of character and well-designed. I loved the old-style glass elevators and the small-scale sports fields in the bases of the lift wells. We appreciated the free snacks and drinks available in our room. A lovely touch.

The only slight negative is the lack of quality of the bath towels.,

The location is great and the beds comfy, the room is very quiet and they do a great breakfast, the little extras in the rooms are a nice touch. There is a chill out area that you can relax in and the staff are super helpful. Parking is also available at a discounted cost which is very convenient. We have stayed here three times and will return when next in the City

Room was an internal room with a small window overlooking an internal void with a skylight. It felt a bit claustrophobic.

Location is fine, staff very friendly, all is clean.

Aircon is definitely too weak, and hard to operate. Window doesn't opn at all, so air in room doesn't seem fresh. Tapas Bar is highly overpriced (small portions, nothing special) and so are the drinks. Breakfast choice is kind of poor for that kind of classy hotel. If included, very limited choice. If not included, overpriced with 30 AUD for the limited choice.

Pretty querky in a good way

A Great but noisey shower and the extractor fan wasn't working

This was pricey for me, so running out of soap in the shower wasnt appreciated, nor that I couldnt work the air con system

We spent only 5 hours here - we had a Quantas nightmare and so had an unscheduled stopover in Sydney. Decent room. Bit stuffy but quiet. Thanks for taking us in at short notice!

Guy behind desk really helpful in every respect except that, unasked, he booked us a limousine rather than a regular taxi back to the airport at over double the usual rate. Why?!?

The room was agood size. the bed was very comfortable and there was a selection of pillows. The location of the hotel was very good, alking distance to the theatre and restaurants. Parking very convenient at Wislon parking across the road. Easy to drive to.

Loved location, the hotel itself is gorgeous and quaint

The beds. We booked a long bed and it was two beds pushed together with a mattress protector to bridge the ridges on the edges of the bed. The result was two slumps with high ridge in between and so did a couple you couldn’t get close comfortably . The pillows were hard as well. The staff tried their best to sort which was appreciated but I feel there should be actual queen or king beds if you want to sleep beside your partner !

Added an extra breakfast at check in but the kitchen did not have an updated list by 9.40am. Breakfast was cold and fruit salad came before breakfast actual. No wine glasses or champagne flute.

Everything was wonderful. Location is great. Walk everywhere and Uber is easy for longer destinations.

There was no smart TV. For the price and being 2024 the room should update or facilitate smart TV's.

I love the Ovovlo brand and have stayed at a few in Brisbane and Sydney. They are a unique Boutique style hotel, with emphasis on conserving historical buildings and using art as a medium throughout. We arrived early and they accomodated us with a room immediately, even though we were happy to store our luggage and wait.

We booked a room with views, we ended up with no view and a room direcly in front of the elevator. We obviously didn't realise this until we made our way up and then couldn't be bothered making changes as it was only for one night. We had pre-booked/paid, so cost did bot change. As mentioned before, we were not given the option to wait.

This hotel is in an excellent location for visiting the Lyric Theatre or International Convention Centre, being just a short stroll away from both. There are a range of dining options nearby and the on-site restaurant is also great quality. The hotel included lovely finishing touches and was comfortable and beautifully presented, with very friendly and helpful staff.

Good location to th ICC. Bugger to get to and parking is not onsite but accross the road at a Wilson's Commercial parking venue.

Ability to park and take in your luggage at check in. Very busy street and no 5 min parking spots.

Well situated for Sydney Convention Centre, bed was comfortable and facilities good.

Could not open window for fresh air and room was a little musty.

The designers have kept the character of the building and decorated superbly. The location is great. Quick walk to the harbour and a plethora of restaurants.

We had an internal room with the window over a void. The light doesn’t turn off out there and the curtain lets light in at the top of the window. I’m quite fussy about light. This didn’t bother my daughter.

Gorgeous boutique hotel with attention paid to quirky features such as how room numbers are displayed and the football game in the lift shaft. Rooms were just perfectly decorated - art deco style and blended with old brick walls and original pillars. Nina Simone, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong and co all playing in lobby and restaurant - perfect music for the atmosphere of the place. Very close to ICC and Darling Harbour and within a 20m walking distance of main shopping precint. Bed was really comfortable - better than my own.

Restaurant food was okay but menu very avant garde and very little appealed so only ate there one night. What I did have was lovely though. No amenities in hotel such as pool or gym but I did know that before I booked.

Central darling harbour location, lovely staff, very comfortable beds, beautiful ambiance - exposed brick and timber.

Bedside lights - please add shades! Very bright.

Menu options. We weren’t tempted to eat at Percy’s. Also when you’re told “free mini bar” and the reality is two cans of Coke and a bag of chips, it’s a bit of a let down. Free water would have been nice with a pay-as-you- go mini bar for other drinks and snacks.

The heritage and feel is still great having not been for years. Food was good and staff gave personalised service after a couple of days.

I couldn’t sleep well, bed soft, room hot, not sure but it wasn’t good.

Found room a bit small.
