Everything about the place was FIRST rate. The only reason that I'm being honest is because we don't plan on visiting Sicily again, too much else to see in this world. This place should be packed because of its staff, value, location....am I gushing about the place?

What was not to love!?!

The breakfast was really excellent , fresh and lots of different things to try every day. The location of the hotel was perfect! The rooms were very clean with beautiful linen and ours had a sea view ! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, who were very professional and friendly with excellent English if you needed it. We would definitely return.

My wife and I spent a full week at this very elegant Palazzo style boutique hotel. We stayed in a sea view suite which was luxurious and very spacious with spectacular views of the sea which was literally just across the road. There is also a large rooftop terrace with showers and sun loungers. The location was perfect, close to the heart of Ortigia with many bars and restaurants just around the corner. A very big thank you to all the staff, especially Massimo who made our stay so wonderful. Massimo was on hand 24/7 and nothing was too much trouble. He helped us with restaurant bookings and taxis. He gave us invaluable information and advice. We 100% recommend staying here and are already planning our next visit there.

Gorgeous property and such elegant rooms. Beautiful sea views in the room we chose. Very accommodating and helpful staff. Nice spot on Ortigia because it’s a couple streets away from the main drag, which made it nice and quiet but everything is within a 5 minute walk. Fantastic. There’s a rocky area and elevated deck over the sea beside the hotel, great alternative to get some swimming and sunbathing in without having to trek to the beach. Note: if you’re using the valet, Do Not drive your car down the street of the hotel, park it at the corner before the street starts.

The Hotel has a magnificent view from the terrace, beautifully furnished rooms, comfortable setting, and close to everything that is important. Great ambiance too. Staff was exceptional, we really got to like Massimo and Denis. There was no request too big or too little for them. Massimo was a storehouse of great info, he was friendly and respectful. Denis was polite, and charming, always ready to help us with the breakfast.

Hotel Ortigia Royal was the perfect place to explore Ortigia. The set up is a bit quirky but the rooms were large, luxurious and very comfortable! Massimo was extremely helpful and arranged a fabulous boat cruise for us as well as dinner reservations. we couldn’t have asked for anything more!

Amazing location in gorgeous small hotel. Massimo was exceptionally helpful, always ready with advice and help at any time whether in the hotel or places to eat or visit. the view of the sea from the rooftop terrance was stunning

The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. The room was beautiful and clean and in the perfect location. I have stayed at four other places in Ortigia and this has become one of my favorites. Thank you. One note to anyone reading this - the breakfast was down the street at a “bar” (Italian coffeeshop). I actually liked this.

Beautiful room, and really spacey, we even had stairs in to a second floor in our room. It was really in the center of syracuse and the breakfast was very good. Thank you very much! 😊

The structure with the reception desk, judging by the unit #3 in which we stayed for 2 nights, is composed of well appointed apartments; the owners obviously took care in to furnish them well.

We have vacationed in Italy several times per year over the last 25 years, including Palermo, Cefalu, and Catania. This was our first time in Ortigia, and we booked 5 nights in a room with a sea view. On arrival we were escorted from the reception structure to a building on the opposite side of the block. The front door was facing a relatively heavily trafficked street, and as the main source of light, when opened, eliminated any source of privacy. The “sea view” was into parked cars, walkers, and a large brick structure. The loft bedroom - devoid of windows - is accessed by climbing stairs which are precarious if traversed in the dark. On seeing this, & without conferring with my wife, I informed our guide that this facility was utterly unacceptable (never before have I had such a negative reaction). The receptionist move us back to the main building but could let us have unit #3 for only two nights, after which we departed the Royal Suites in disgust. We liked Ortigia and will return, but not on a bet to Ortigia Suites. Of course the owner declined even a partial refund.

it was ok, I selected this because it was in Ortigia and near the water. however, all of ortigia is by the water… the rooms are clean

staff was not helpful… old building with no elevators and lack of Wi-Fi access, breakfast was so-so.. parking was 25 euros a night.. lack of natural sunlight in the room.. and showers were tiny.

Wi-Fi was difficult to get. The Wi-Fi reception was low or non-existence. there was a bit of communication barrier with the staff. breakfast is so so.. the building is old and there are no elevators.

The hotel has a superb position. The view was stunning and it was a convenient area. Very large sitting room. Valet parking was arranged which was a good idea where driving and parking so difficult

We had booked a suite, which was a very large room with a balcony with 2 small bedroom compartments. It was oddly and not very attractively furnished, although it looked very attractive in the pictures. Lovely views from the balcony spoilt by the platform for swimmers right in front of you.

Room was fabulous, but the bedroom was not so great. I would combine the two bedrooms into one bedroom so that the Presidential Suite also has a Presidential bedroom. No bins and we had to ask for coffee making facilities. The staff however, especially Massimo, were fantastic.

Everything one could want from a B&B. Massimo gave us great care, setting us up for lunch when we got there (when most places had closed or were closing for lunch) & recommended a few things to do—we took his advice and were glad we did. Room was spacious, A/C worked well, enjoyed having a refrigerator, roof terrace had beautiful views. Denise gave us fantastic breakfasts each morning. We would love to return some day.
