I can only give this hotel and its staff the highest of praise. Friendly, helpful, and creating a sense of "us" at this hotel. I will always recommend this to anyone that plans to visit Palermo. Me and my wife will be back, without a doubt.

Gorgeous property located in the Kalsa area, which was very charming. Added bonus was having a pool, one of the few hotels i believe that have one in that area.. this was very handy after a full day of site seeing. Very close to the main tourist areas. Very friendly and helpful staff who couldn’t do enough to help us. I also loved the garden area. We would definitely stay here again when we return to Palermo.

Hotel full of character in an excellent location for visiting the old town of Palermo. The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly and welcoming. Paolo is a star. Great restaurants within less than five minutes walk. A real gem.

It was a comfy stay. We had everything needed. Location is quite central. Walking distance. Outdoors is beautiful, lots of plants and chill spots. Staff was very friendly. There is a pool and a jacuzzi. Plenty of pastries at the breakfast.

Pool we didn't use much as it was cold. The only thing I didn't appreciate in the room were the door of the bathroom and the toilet that were difficult to open and close. The croissants were sometimes soggy from the previous day. I would appreciate more veggies, vegan milk option and gf bread.

Wonderful location with a great square in front of the hotel. It was easy to access from the train station with a 5 mn walk. Breakfast was really satisfying. The building itself had an incredible historical background.

Room was a little bit small but beautiful architecture.

We stayed for the final leg of our honeymoon and the staff left us a very kind note and gift in our room. It is in an excellent location within walking distance to all the major sights. Room was very comfortable. There is also a swimming pool which was great for relaxing on hot afternoons!

It’s an oasis in the middle of the city. Staff is friendly and take good care of their customers. Breakfast was superior. Pool is great after walking in the city. Location is amazing as there are multiple good bars and restaurants right next to the hotel.

Room really needs more power sockets. There is only one for each side of the bed and the other side was occupied for extension cord which was far also full.

Staff were super nice. It has a lovely pool. Really nice room, very different from a usual hotel room but was really comfy. Good value for money.

Difficult to park.

I absolutely loved staying here !!! The staff the amenities and location were fantastic The hotel is steeped with so Much history it gave me goosebumps! We stayed in what I call a ‘ cave ‘ room It was small but very well equipped It was very hot in Palermo and the room was as perfect to sleep in Aircon was fab ,room was dark did not hear a thing from the outside world !! Breakfast was great a good start to the day! The staff were amazing ! I’d like to especially mention Paul and Alex who just made our stay even better ! Absolutely loved after a long day of seeing the sights of Palermo to come back have a swim and cocktail in this boutique oasis before heading out to one of the local restaurants and really feeling part of the local.community Absolutely fabulous 🤩 we will be back

We had the most wonderful stay at Bastione Spasimo. Alex and the team went above and beyond to make us feel right at home. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer. A beautiful little oasis in the heart of Palermo

The hotel was central to transport facilities, restaurants and shops but above all the hotel was a hidden gem … an oasis of calm and beauty from the hustle and bustle of busy Palermo with staff that could not do enough to make their guests comfortable.

Absolutely nothing

The outdoor space was relaxing and the pool was a great way to cool down in the afternoon. The breakfast was great and the staff was awesome.

There was a problem with the AC but the staff was on it and tried to fix it as fast as possible.

This is a lovely hotel in a great location. A nice quiet hotel within walking distance to all the main sites we wanted to see. Lovely and clean, beautiful tranquil gardens and a pool. Nice staff. Great breakfast. Would recommend.

The shower in the room was absolutely tiny. Other than that, no other criticisms.

Beautiful garden setting and friendly staff, location in Kaksa for us was perfect.

Our room was adjacent to a storage closet frequented by staff. You can see the the photos I posted with shower outside of the bathroom (?) and staff passing by, privacy was a bit limited. Other rooms did not have the same issue however, just our rooms.

Beautiful hotel and pool. The room was large and had great air conditioning. The pool area was well maintained. All the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful.

The breakfast buffet was limited and a few fresher options would be appreciated. The drinks at the hotel are also very expensive.

Beautifully renovated property in the centre of a very nice neighbourhood in Palermo. There are so many nice bars and restaurants near by. Our room was very clean, quiet and unique. All the staff we encountered during our stay were very friendly. The staff allowed us a late checkout due to a late flight which we were very grateful for. The pool is a great addition in the Palermo heat and the gardens are beautiful.

It would be great for the hotel to expand their drink offerings e.g. more cocktail selection and also for some small food to be available to order during the day.

Excellent service, beautiful garden and pool area. Delicious breakfast, lovely room and within easy walking reach of many good restaurants and the historical centre.

The Bastione Spasimo Boutique Hotel personnel were amazing! We had a misfortune and missed our flight, so we weren't able to check in at the agreed time (we arrived well past midnight), but nevertheless the personnel recorded a video just for us and sent it via WhatsApp where they explained the whole procedure of how to enter the hotel using a code, find the room keys in a locker, and navigate to our rooms. While we were stranded at the airport, lol, they prepared everything for us and even asked to leave a breakfast box for us if we planned to leave early in the morning. Rooms were modern and clean, the ceiling was spectacular, and the garden was amazing! Like a botanical garden in the city center! Unfortunately we stayed for only one night and didn't have enough time to use the pool in the garden but did manage to drink the morning coffee beside it.

There was a special event during our stay, so we were limited with the parking space, but the Bastione Spasimo Boutique Hotel personnel made sure we had the option to park in a nearby garage (25 EUR/night).

The hotel is a an amazing space, the gardens are beautiful, the pool is wonderful, the staff are friendly and attentive and create a wonderful peaceful haven

I would love to have been able to get a lunch or a snack.

The staff were so helpful and lovely especially Paolo and Yasmina . Loved being able to relax in the garden by the pool after a long day in Palermo. Great location. So close to excellent restaurants and bars .

The standard room that our sons slept in was poor . Small, dark and airless with a tiny bathroom.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this charming hotel — so much so that we came back to stay again during our trip! Nestled in the heart of Palermo, it offers a peaceful, idyllic retreat right in the middle of the city’s vibrant energy. The location is perfect for exploring, yet the hotel itself feels like a hidden sanctuary. The rooms are truly unique and beautifully designed — full of character and comfort. Each detail seems thoughtfully chosen, giving the place a very special atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious every morning, with a lovely variety of fresh and local options. One of the rare gems of this hotel is the pool — a real luxury in Palermo and a perfect way to unwind after a day of sightseeing. We especially want to thank Paolo, Iolanda, and Alessandro, who were incredibly attentive, warm, and helpful throughout our stay. Their hospitality made our experience even more memorable, and we sincerely hope they remain part of the hotel team for a long time to come.

The hotel is the most beautiful historic building, the gardens are stunning , the original stone of the building is incorporated into the rooms. The staff were excellent & couldn’t do enough . The breakfast was the best I had in Sicily throughout my stay . The area is in a residential area but full of great local bars & restaurants & within walking distance to the main area of Palermo

Room was a bit small

Wonderful garden & pool was like an oasis in the city after a hot day sightseeing. Great location in heart of old city. The reception staff of Paulo, Ialandra & Alex were so helpful. They always went out of their way.

Our sons stayed in the basic room which was dark , airless and small. The superior room we stayed in was lovely.

Great location. Friendly staff. Lovely garden and pool. Some good restaurants nearby, especially if you like fish. However the standard rooms don’t have anywhere to sit and apart from the garden there is no general communal seating area. Lots of accessible things to do from this location in Palermo

The facilities in the standard rooms lack comfort

The best thing about this hotel are the staff, always very helpful and kind. The hotel garden offers a peaceful retreat from the busy streets of Palermo. The breakfast was delicious and included a variety of foods.

Some electrical outlets by the bed would be nice. Also the bathroom space is a bit weird, since it's not separated from the bedroom by a concrete wall, but rather by a glass wall, so you can clearly see your roommate on the toilet and also hear everything (obviously not a problem if you're close with your roommate :) )

We has a superior double room which was spacious, clean, well maintained, and dual aspect with a view over the lovely garden/pool area; the shower room was very good too. We were provided with tea/coffee making facilities and some bottled water. The garden, with a pool, is an oasis-like area; beautiful, calm, relaxing with a number of seating areas to lounge. The reception staff were, without exception, extremely helpful; very good. The location, within a short walk of the train station, the bus station, the coast, the botanical gardens, and the old town, is ideal in many ways.

The location, while good in many ways, is close to an activity park/area which is used for local kids to socialise into the late evening; can be a bit noisy. I guess you are paying for the location a bit and the general loveliness of the accommodation and the garden - but it was a bit pricey, we felt. Note: Nothing to do with the hotel but some of the local restaurants were a bit of a disappointment. While Osteria Alivaru was fine and Quattro was pretty good, Carizzi D'Amuri was average and Ciccio in Pentola was poor (though highly rated by others).

Very local area, a rough diamond! Just a short 15 walk to the main streets where you will find bars and restaurants. Pool was a lovely feature to relax around in the afternoons and the staff were amazing.

Carb heavy at breakfast!

The property was in fantastic state. The gardens were beautiful love the character pretty outstanding.

The young lady who cleaned the rooms was extremely thorough the young gentleman who cared for the gardens and cleaned up glasses for everybody had a great personality and very good communication skills

The location is fantastic, walkable into the main area and feels really local and authentic. We got a car from the airport, but didn't need to. The train station is a 10 min walk away and an hour - much more efficient than being stuck in a car in traffic.

Would have liked hotel to initially recommend the train from the airport and not a taxi. 6Euros vs 50E and slower in a car!!

Beautiful property, clean and the ground are amazing. So well kept. Staff were friendly and helpful they gave us some excellent restaurants to visit.

Prices of the mini bar are very high so ended up going to the supermarket to grab any snacks.

When looking for the building, go to the corner and look up! You will see the sign, and an intercom/security system.

Room was lovely, clean, great bathroom. Staff went out of their way to help us sea with a parking issue
