The hotel is its own little paradise. Conveniently located, the staff were helpful and accommodating. Loved the pool, breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend for couples.

The hotel is located in a somewhat run down area. In retrospect we would probably have picked a different location. The building however is in very good shape with a wellkept yard behing high walls and huge steel doors. There was no feeling of it being unsafe to stay there.

Very good location in a quieter part of the old district but only 10 mins walk from the station, only 16 rooms and very friendly staff. Historic building, modern, stylish interiors.Downstairs rooms have small seating are outside.

A small point: as a diabetic, I would have liked ‘healthier’ bread eg brown seeded sourdough / granary/ rye bread rather than white bread rolls, filled croissant and brioche. However, all the sweet options looked very tempting!

Location, big room with nice bathroom. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Siri was wonderful ! Breakfast was wonderful with a lot of choices.

Rooms are beautiful, comfortable and very quiet. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Location is great and you can safely walk into the city centre within 10 minutes. There are also a number of bars within 3 minutes of the hotel. The pool area is lovely and the breakfast was the best we had had in Italy/Sicily

The property is superb and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. Our flight was delayed and they helped us to move our dinner reservations and also did the admin relating to check-in via WhatsApp so we weren’t further held-up upon arrival. The rooms are beautiful and very well equipped.

Air conditioning did not point towards bed area and as such, it remained quite warm during the night.

Palermo is a chaotic place and the way from the train station to the hotel was everything but smooth, but once you enter into the property of the hotel, it feels like entering an oasis. Its luscious inner garden is surrounded by the high walls and is a perfect refuge. The rooms are very tastefully integrated into the old structures and the quality of the facilities was good! The staff was very helpful and friendly and their recommendations for restaurants were spot-on.

The separation between the bathroom area and the bedroom area does not provide a lot of insulation for privacy :) and the window in the bathroom lets mosquitoes in, if you keep it open.

The hotel was built with a 16th C fort and modern rooms in old vaulted spaces and the breakfast was good , staff friendly and bed comfortable

We had terrible trouble getting from the railway station to the hotel by taxi which I know was out of our host control

Very good location to discover Palermo, in one of the nicest areas of the old town. There is an enclosed and private garden with pool to relax. The bathroom is spacious and comfortable. The staff is nice and helpful.

The aircondition airflow was not optimal and quite loud, could not be adjusted (I think, I should have asked). The bathroom could use better ventilation.

The location was perfect as it was in the heart of Palermo, and the garden they created was beautifully stunning and relaxing. The staff were always attentive to all our needs e.g. early taxi pickups and very friendly. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Could not recommend Bastione Spasimo more, we went for our honeymoon and the staff were so kind and attentive! They really couldn’t do enough for us, offering help before we even had to ask. Beautiful hotel, we stayed in their superior double room with the jacuzzi and it was so luxurious, with a gorgeous original stone ceiling from the 1500s! We’ll never forget this holiday, for the best reasons. The pool/garden area was a beautifully kept oasis in a hot Palermo summer!

I love this hotel. This was my second stay at the hotel and I always leave looking forward to my next visit. After a long travel day, this is the exact place I want to find my place. The beds are super comfortable, the pool is a perfect respite in busy Palermo, the staff is wonderful and very helpful. I love going for a morning run to the sea and back to the hotel for a great breakfast. I hope to visit again soon.

I have no criticisms. They have built an oasis within the beautiful city of Palermo. This hotel is perfect for anyone spending just a night in Palermo or a week. I highly recommend it.

This really is an Oasis in the middle of the city. The staff are highly attentive and helpful, the outside grounds lovely and well kept. Very relaxing. The room was modern, yet charming and the air conditioning was great and quiet. We had top floor and could look out over the nightlife in the square. Breakfast was awesome. Wish we stayed longer and will definitely come back.

The breakfast room needs more ventilation with fans or aircon as it was quite warm.

An oasis in an otherwise unremarkable location. So lovely we didn’t leave for days. Pool was a godsend. One of the nicest properties I’ve ever stayed.

It couldn’t be helped but the area was not great. Not a ton to do and felt unsafe with surroundings at night. Bed could have been more comfortable but was not bad.

Everything about Bastione Spasimo was amazing. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcome there. Siriana, was beyond amazing. The other staff were great as well! The property was well kept - a hidden gem for sure. Breakfast was delicious, the pool and outdoor area was outstanding. I cannot say enough wonderful things about my stay!

A few minutes walk from the city - but away from the hustle and bustle. Lovely room, pool and garden. Delicious breakfast. Lovely staff - Matteo and Julia were exceptional hosts. Fantastic communication prior to our arrival. Very helpful with parking. There was unexpected filming taking place during our stay which meant we had to move our car. The hotel paid for our car to go in a private garage which was incredible and very much appreciated.

Great hotel/stay for our wedding anniversary. Good location, easy to get to via bus/train within 30-45 mins direct from airport. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were lovely, quiet, and had character. The bed and pillows were also comfortable. Breakfast was nice with a good range of healthy options, there were limited options for a cooked breakfast but this was fine for us. Would highly recommend it!

The layout, the room facilities, the cleanliness, the staff, the design, the breakfast (including excellent staff). We also liked the area. Feels like you are in an area with many locals - families out playing at night in the square, really enjoyable bars and restaurants nearby (filled with locals as well).

The pool and garden were an oasis!

The shower was a bit small, but there was an option to use the spa shower instead so this was not really a negative.

What a fantastic hotel, a little bit of tranquility in the centre of Palermo. Everything was lovely, staff friendly, very clean and the garden and pool area was lovely to relax in after a day exploring. The hotel is in a great location. The room was built in the walls of the old Fortress with very modern facilities.

Staff were amazing. Lovely property with history in a quiet part of town but everything was within walking distance. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
