A bit dated, no elevator.

Kevin's Old House is located in the former French concession in Shanghai in a little street not accessible by cars so it is a quiet neighborhood. As in the name, it is an old house, it breathes history with its wooden staircase and large rooms with polished wooden floors, but make no mistake, the rooms are fully equipped with modern, A brand, equipment. The service is excellent. We arrived at 1AM due to late night flight into Shanghai but the owner came to meet us in the street where the taxi stopped and helped with the luggage. With a smile :). Check in process was smooth. An extra bed was arranged for our daughter as we had asked. The room was actually a 3 room suite with a large bathroom, a large living room and a large bedroom. Room was clean, wooden polished floor, a lot of wooden polished furniture which gave the room an authentic look. Good quality mattress. A copious breakfast was served at the Italian restaurant on the ground floor. I got a western style, my wife a Chinese style breakfast, without even having to ask. Not that we would have minded if it were different but it shows the level of service and attentiveness. The coffee was good :). We didn't have time to try the Italian restaurant but a look at the menu shows very reasonable prices so we will definitely try that next time we are there.

We loved the old Shanghai vibe in the hotel, brings back memory of my childhood. The room was spacious yet functional, lots of storage, shower was comfortable. Quality amenities were used. The manager, house keeping staff were very friendly and made our stay very comfortable.

The breakfast was very good. The Manager was very helpful. He and Bella Napoli provided Prosecco on several occasions, and we enjoyed a very good dinner at Bella Napoli next door. It was a good location for us near to where relative was living, but also a lovely neighbourhood in French Concession. A homely comfortable house rather than a featureless tower block hotel. We enjoyed the traditional nature of the furniture and decor with some antiques as well.

Although the breakfast was good it would have been nice to have had some information and choice about what we might be served.

Kevin’s Old House is sort a traditional/vinatge/antique hotel in the center of Jing’an. If that’s your vibe; you’ll love it. It’s also co-located with Bella Napoli that makes amazing pizza. The room also had a laundry machine which makes life so much easier. Super helpful & friendly staff too. Will definitely stay again.

A little noisy when the restaurant is pumping but not too bad.

The location is very close to the city center, with convenient transportation and many shopping malls and restaurants around. The butler service is very warm, delicious breakfast is provided every morning, the cleaning work is spotless, and the room is tastefully decorated. I will stay here again next time I return to Shanghai.

Love this place. The staff are amazing. The location is perfect on Changle Road - perfect if you're interested in boutique shopping and high quality cocktails. The interior has a solid old-school vibe. I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for a dynamic stay in Shanghai. Also, great coffee just around the corner at Fineline Coffee.

If you're noise sensitive, it's not the quietest place. It's located above a fairly busy restaurant. You should stay here if you're keen to feel a part of a dynamic life in this fantastic city.

Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They made the stay very enjoyable. They even let us use another room for an early check in until ours was available. They had a highchair for our son and let us store our pram downstairs

Breakfast was generous in size but I found smoked salmon with green salad and a very sweet croissant a slightly odd combination. I would have preferred a more local style breakfast but that’s just personal preference.

The location is very central French concession. The property is bigger then expected, very comfortable bed. The breakfast also was lovely, just what you need to start a day: croissant, salmon, ham, eggs, coffee. The staff was friendly and provided everything we needed.

The decoration could be improved by choosing modern forniture or go for a more antique style.

A strongly recommended place to stay if you want a genuine Shanghai French Concession experience! Nice rooms, lots of atmosphere, and very friendly staff. The hotel is in a side street, so a bit more difficult to find, but it also means no traffic noise.

I could not mention anything that was not satisfactory. Of course, do not expect the standard of a luxury hotel, but this hotel basically offers the same, but in a more authentic and personalized manner.

The House is a hidden gem in a very convenient location. The staff was generally helpful. I had an early flight at 8am. The hotel staff actually got up 4ish to help prepare my breakfast. Strong recommending to people who wants some genuine local experience!

The guesthosue is located at a cute Italian restaurant. There was plenty of space in the room. The location is perfect for exploring the neighbourhood and walking around Shanghai's old concessions. Very quiet and close to the local neighbourhood for some walking explorations. Great restaurant options nearby as well.

There will be some noise during early evenings from the restaurants. But overall our sleep wasn't disturbed.

Staff was friendly and welcoming, ambience was wonderful! The bed was large and comfy. AND, Bella Napoli is an excellent restaurant on the ground floor. All in all a gem!

Super location for anyone who wants to be in the French Concession. It's a 3 minute walk from Anfu Lu. The staff in the hotel and the very good Italian restaurant downstairs were all so lovely, friendly, helpful, warmhearted that my days of coming and going to and from Shanghai and staying with them at intervals were a joy! And from a very practical point of view, the washing machine in my bathroom was a very nice surprise! And the staff really went to trouble to make sure that guests had something they loved for breakfast. Big thanks to Xiao Zu (spelling?!), Aiyi, Guido, Monica, David and everyone who made my stay there so lovely!

Very cozy place with italian restaurant. Staff were extreemly helpful all the way. We upgraded the room and it was spacious and nice, a washing maschine in the came in handy. We loved the place.
