The restaurant was amazing as was the food. We didn’t really get to appreciate the place staying only 1 night.

The decore of the room was pretty but could do with some sprucing up. Grounds looked a little tired. The mattress needs replacing.

this hotel is so dirty and promises things that aren't true at all. it has so much potential but everything needs to be renovated and a completely new concept for the hotel. the breakfast was also a disaster, everything looked stale and totally unloving. Pool was a disaster!!!

The staff was very nice efficient and seemingly intuitive. The property is very nice. Very picturesque but so is the entire region. It’s a bit like a summer camp that has seen its day.

The value is simply not evident in the experience. Perhaps if you are a family of four stuffing yourselves into a room and if you only want to have a hotel create your itinerary amongst other tourists, then this spot is for you. The pool needs to be resurfaced. The food is mediocre. The price for meals is very high for what you receive and for the quality.

The style of the place is gorgeous.

During the check in we haven't been properly informed of all the areas and activities the hotel provides. Also when you book a room make sure to check if it is serviced by a lift or not. My dad has low mobility and nobody at the counter checked that. The food is average compared to other restaurants you find in the area.

Breakfast and dinner. The staff agreed to change our room for the second night which was lighter and a tiny but clean balcony where we could stand to get air. The staff were excellent.

Our room had no natural light with a dirty and leaf strewn tiny outside sitting area. It was unusable. All the decor is rather old and dated - but not in a charming way. We paid 275 euros a night for this. Very overpriced. The experiences at this experience hotel were very expensive. £100 for a yoga session!

The restaurant was very good and dining in the outdoor terrace at night was a great experience.

I wish I had read other peoples reviews more, like many we found the whole place very tired and strange. The pool area is terrible, Loungers are old and the pool paint is flaking, the robot pool cleaner, gardens and lawns around pool unkept. The hotel is massive with a whole lot of areas that seem unnecessary and we never saw used. The furnishings are threadbare etc The activities were really talked up but they were scheduled and only a couple a day. Never saw a farm or horses etc

Location/Decoration

Unfortunately our whole experience was ruined by the treatment we received towards the end. We were charged for a lunch we didn't have and when we spotted the mistake on the check out bill, they claimed it was our fault as they gave us the change to verify it. I called several times and they either didn't pick up, or ignored me claiming they couldn't hear. An absolute awful experience unfortunately. Feel mugged.

The bar was great and the food at the restaurant was delicious.

The rooms were gross. There was a terrible smell In the first room we got so they moved us. The second room still had the smell just less obvious. It smells like some sort of chemical they use for extermination. Very unpleasant. Also the property is for lack of better word weird. There is art and little knick knacks throughout but the place feels unkept.

Very overpriced accommodation. Rooms fairly basic and clearly in need of modernisation. Questionable as a 4 star by todays standards. our bathroom had a really strong over powering smell that had been covered up with a deodoriser. open arrival the staff promised to bring our luggage up to our room from the car which took far too long so we ended up doing it ourselves. there was a dirty coffee cup in the room, which we asked to be replaced and was offered a replacement the following day.

absolutely stunning - there is something to discover in every corner! the nature surrounding the property is beautiful, especially the views from the dream and from the wishes terraces. the staff at the property are incredible, this is a hotel at its finest!

not a problem for me but travelers should know that there are lots of stairs everywhere across the property, and for people with limited mobility this may be challenging

Beautiful setting. Huge pool to cool down in after a hot day touring. Wonderful sunset views looking at the sheer faces of the mountain. Great drinks and appetizers. Fantastic art work from Sardinia all around the property. The Italian sheets were some of the most beautiful I have ever seen. Hotel is older and could do with some painting and trimming of the lush gardens.

It was a bit pricey compared to the rest of our stay in Sardinia. We thought we would enjoy the highly rated restaurant. We were unaware that all of the entrees were large pieces of roast meat cooked over wood fires. Unfortunately, we do not eat meat, our mistake.

The best hotel we have ever stayed at. The grounds are like nothing I've ever seen - magic around every corner. Truly awesome hotel.

Lots of stairs so tricky to move around if you have large suitcases, however there is staff that can help with that.

-lot of cosy en multicolor places in the hotel and in the garden - a nice view in the breakfast room and in the coctailbar

-no fisch on the menu for dinner ( and my wife eat no meat...); thus during our stay 3 days we have only one time taken our dinner in the hotel -when we asked at the reception the possibilities of visiting the beach of cala gonone, they tried to push us to the activities of the hotel -the lounge chairs around the swimming pool are rather army and sometimes not enough - coctailbar was to expensif: 16 euro for a normal coctail during the day

This was just an amazingly special place, and I feel so grateful that I was able to spend 3 nights here. The staff were all so great. I loved exploring this property. Staff was able to get creative and accommodate to make sure we had a good experience. We really wanted to do the wine tasting but it was just the two of us, so they made sure to ask other guests if they would be interested and were able to get us in one night. This was a highlight as we tasted lovely Sardinian wines and learned a lot about the history and culture of the island. Small gym, but still nice to have some equipment to workout on. Food was amazing at all of the restaurants.

Not everything is catered for couples or small groups. For example, their website has all of their different experiences listed, but it's not guaranteed and you'll need at least 6 people to book for things like cooking classes, wine tasting, etc.

This is an experience hotel, tucked away in the picturesque hills of Sardinia. I was unsure what 'experience' meant in the context of this hotel but when we arrived, it was clearly the extremely arty and well-thought-out dining, sitting and walking areas in the hotel. For example, you can have dinner in the herb garden at long tables. The Tableau bar is a stunning place overlooking the hills, they have a set menu in the 'Basket of Bread' which is an outside dining area with local ladies making bread using traditional methods. The pool area is just lovely and such a relaxing place. It is all very atmospheric. We had a suite which had a great outside area with a bathtub overlooking the hills.

Although this is a magical place and well worth the visit, some of the areas are a bit run down. The crazy golf has not been touched for years along with the tennis and football courts. The corridors leading to the rooms are gloomy and uninviting with old arty relics stuck on the walls. These areas could do with being modernised. The fixtures and fittings are old fashioned, however, perhaps this is in keeping with the hippy, 60's vibe of the hotel but if you are looking for these luxurious touches then you may not enjoy this place so much.

A lovely hotel in a quiet, rural location. Lovely breakfast. Comfortable bed and spacious room

Other hotels in this price range (400 EUR for a standard room, per night) are normally much more welcoming. A little 'welcome' note in the room, a small fruit platter on arrival - little thoughts that most other hotels routinely provide, and just make guests feel welcome and appreciated. We visited Su Gologone to celebrate my partner's birthday, which normally would warrant a little glass of wine on arrival, or even only a 'happy birthday' from reception staff upon checking passport details! Little things that make guests feel special. I had even emailed the hotel in advance to request a nice table for dinner on her birthday, and despite a positive email back from the hotel, in the end we got a totally anonymous table at the back. Another example, the morning after for breakfast, in a nearly empty breakfast room, we politely asked if we could sit at a table overlooking the pool, and the waitress replied "if you really must sit there, you may" - which we felt was unnecessarily rude. Overall - a very disappointing stay for the price paid.

The special dinners they organise are amazing. We did the bread one and the vegetables one- both were unbelievable.

Lovely hotel in a great location!!

Loved the attention to detail. Everywhere you looked was a treat to the eyes. The food was also truly exceptional, we came back for more the following evening.

We enjoyed the authentic Sardinian food at the typical a la carte restaurant. The Magic Tablao bar was a cool experience also along the the artisan stores alongside.

Fantastic location, ambience and atmosphere. The hotel is a mix of relaxing wellness, sardinian art museum and cottage in the middle of typical vegetation and breath-taking panoramas. The room was very confortable, with a small terrace and fully equipped bathroom.

A little bit noisy, especially when guests would open their room doors by heavily tingling the key holder against the lock.

This is a unique place set amongst beautiful countryside. The gardens are stunning , you can get lost wandering around them. Flowers and shrubs under tress just lovely, with lots of private seating areas tucked away. The food is typical local Sardinian - we enjoyed most of it but the roasted pork was too fatty for our liking. They have local special evenings where they do vegetarian or bread based nights - set menu. We really enjoyed the bread one - so much food - pace yourself, and great to watch it being made in front of you. The local scenery is stunning - we loved sitting in one of the bars and watching sunset. V nice swimming pool and gardens and excellent pool bar close by where we had a v nice lunch. A couple of nights here was about right.

The bathroom was poor - it had a strange bath with a hand shower unit but no glass to stop you soaking the floor. The hand basins were odd - one didn't give hot water , the other the water went hot and cold. We were upgraded by the hotel but the room was still quite compact with little room for cases. Bed was ok but not especially comfortable

A magical place, completely unique with every space thoughtfully and artistically designed. Art and objets d'art in every nook, fully integrated into the building and the environment. Plenty of spaces to sit in the grounds.. Beautiful location on the edge of the national park. Spotlessly clean, very helpful staff.

Food a little disappointing - rather heavy at dinner (huge portions and no fish main course options).. Breakfast good. Pool open too late to have a pre breakfast swim. Pool opens at 9 (ish) and breakfast window is 8.00- 10.00. Would be good to be able to swim from.7 am. Area around the pool a bit small for the size of the pool (huge and lovely) and the seating can be crowded. It is not landscaped and designed to the same exceptional standard as the rest if the hotel.

Architecture is amazing as well as the furniture.

Wonderful welcome/front desk staff, extremely accommodating and thoughtful. The whole property is a dream-gorgeous vistas around every bend. Rooms were lovely and well appointed. Extremely responsive front desk and porters. Pool was beautiful. Food was great. My only slight complaint is the restaurant staff is not as welcoming.
