Fantastic atmosphere and location for China Town and Italian quarter

extremely good location in North beach small charming and a bit eccentric hotel. very good shower very clean very nice staff feel very authentic Front bedrooms seem larger & lighter but noisier than the one in the back . Next time we will book one of these.

our bedroom was at the back . so very quite but not very light and quite small .

Lovely hotel with a very comfortable room, great location

Hotel Boheme was perfectly situated so that we could walk to many of the places we wanted to visit. A rental car was not necessary. The staff was very accommodating when it came to recommending activities and places to eat. We were right in the middle of little Italy and only 1 1/2 blocks from Chinatown. Even though we had to walk up two flights of stairs to get to our room we found it exhilarating; great exercise. Would go back again at the drop of a hat.

There is nothing that I can think of that I didn't like.

San Francisco is a city like no other and the historic Hotel Boheme provides the quintessential SF experience. Great North Beach location on Columbus Ave., directly above the fabulous Stella Bakery. The thoughtfully decorated rooms are small but contain everything you need. Guests are welcome to pour a glass of sherry in the lobby each evening.

You’ll need to carry your luggage up a steep flight of stairs (or two) but will be rewarded in most rooms with a lovely view of the city.

The location of Hotel Boheme is ideal. Great food in the neighborhood and very short walk to Chinatown.

No AC in the room and the windows had no grates so we couldn't get any airflow.

Weak wifi

Historical Beatnik location in the heart of San Francisco’s best old neighborhood. Such a vibe.

It’s in the heart of the city so it can be a little noisy from street noise.

The location was impeccable, the quaint interior, it still feels like the old spirit of San Francisco.

It was a bit warm when I stayed and the hotel does not have air conditioning. They had a fan which helped immensely but it wouldn’t hurt to upgrade to a more modern fan that’s a bit quieter at night.

Location was great, we walked to Fisherman's Wharf, downtown or could catch a street car. The room was large and the bed comfortable. The staff were always helpful. There's a good coffee shop next door and plenty of places to eat locally with Italian or Chinese. Every afternoon the hotel puts out a bottle of sherry and glasses for customers to enjoy.

The hotel is on the first and second floors of the building so the taxi drivers couldn't find the hotel's front door. Behind that front door are some steep stairs. Whilst the room size was good the TV was too small for the room.

Location was incredible, great vibe and staff. Historical building which is well maintained, the staff really make it great with little touches. Proximity to most San Francisco attractions and public transport is excellent.

Wi-fi isn't great, and if you have heavy luggage it is harder with no lifts and steepish stairs.

Water in the shower was cold and I never figured out how to put it to warm. Power outlets a bit old without USB sockets (installing some new ones wouldn't harm the charm of the hotel guys ;-) )

We loved the location and the free sherry sipping in the evening. A very quirky hotel with lots of history.

Stairs my room was adjacent to the laundry room which was noisy early in the morning. Tv was on a table lower than the end of the bed. Only power outlet to charge phone was in the bathroom

Loved the location and the theme of the hotel. The bed was super comfortable, soft sheets and a good selection of pillow sizes, good natural light and windows that open!

Would be great if the room or the hotel had coffee for early risers.

I LOVED the style and general “theme” of the hotel. It kept its vintage feel while maintaining a kept up look. I never felt it was dingy at all.

The only thing I would possibly say that I didn’t like was shower never really got super hot. But it’s just me that likes it like that, I really enjoyed it all.

Character of hotel lobby and rooms. Walking distance to most attractions. Plenty of restaurants around to pick from.

Fantastic location in North Beach with a lively, buzzing atmosphere and easy to reach all the main attractions. The neighbourhood felt very safe and was well connected by bus and cable car routes as well as being within a short walk of sights such as Lombard St, Coit Tower and Fisherman’s Wharf. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the room was comfortable with a nice shower! It is an older property with lots of character therefore there’s only a small tv in the room and no coffee making facilities or fridge (all stated in the description), however there is a fantastic bakery downstairs where we went each morning. There is a communal fridge available to store your things in.

A kettle and mini fridge would be nice in the room but it is by no means a dealbreaker and we were aware of this before booking so wouldn’t mark the hotel down for this! We had a fantastic stay!

My favorite place to stay in SF because of its decor, vibe, history, and central location in North Beach.

Bathroom’s a little small; fairly pricey.

As soon as we walked in we were able to check in. The person who was at the desk was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area surrounding the hotel. We appreciated him so much as we went to a few of the resturants he suggested. Perfect!! Thanks for a great stay. We would love to come visit again.

Excellent base to explore SF while pretending you're Kerouac or Ginsberg. So much history in the hotel and the area, great restaurant, bars and cafes, and locals. Buy a paperback at City Lights and read it with a coffee and pastry at Cafe Trieste. I downgraded to a small street facing room and loved it - stayed for a week and was sad to leave.

The hotel is a time slip so its shortcomings add to the charm. But visitors should expect to carry their suitcase up a flight of stairs to reach the reception.

Excellent location

The hotel was so cute and welcoming. The attendant at the front desk was very informative and welcoming. I loved the extra touch of complimentary sherry in the lobby. I loved the location of the hotel.

I just wish there was like a back door on the opposite side of the building for luggage purposes. But obviously that can’t be fixed the hotel was wonderful.

This charming, historic property is in a fantastic location, you can walk all over North Beach and Chinatown very easily. I love all of the vintage details and everyone who worked here was incredibly friendly!

Gets very noisy at night but that's only to be expected as very central in North Beach.

Susan was an excellent host: inclusive and helpful. The hotel is located in the heart of north beach near china town and close to many stop’s buses.

The hotel is inside an historic building so it hasn’t the air conditioning.

Excellent staff and service

Love the Beat decor. Beautiful B&W photos of icons from that Era. Love the colors, the old-school tile bathroom and the afternoon sherry offering is perfect to revive after a day of travel. Location was perfect for us as we wanted to be able to walk around the restaurants and haunts of North Beach. The Parking garage a 1/2 block away on Vallejo felt safe as it is right across from the cop shop. This is my go-to for any upcoming stays in SF.

I wish I would have requested a room looking over Columbus St., but maybe our backside room was quieter.

So quaint, perfect location! We love Hotel Boheme and have been coming here for 18 years. It always our go-to in SF. We love North Beach and wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else.

Great location near Chinatown, with plenty of great places to eat. The staff was very helpful, keen to offer advice on places to visit etc. The bed was very comfy.

It's located on a busy street and as the rooms don't have AC, we had to have windows opened - so if you're a light sleeper, bring earplugs (especially if you end up with a room facing the road). The shower was a bit too small.

Really lovely warm welcome, the lady on reception gave us lots of advice on places to go and was very accommodating with our bags. Really lovely. The room was small but comfortable and nicely decorated, fantastic location for the wharf and places to eat and drink. Loved getting sherry as an afternoon aperitif!
