Argonaut Hotel, San Francisco

The staff were great, friendly and helpful, the room was serviced daily and impeccably cleaned. Good sized room and bathroom, comfy bed.

We found the room stuffy with no opening windows, the AC was too noisy to sleep when running, it did cool the room enough for us to sleep well after we’d turned it off.

The location was incredible. The hotel was beautiful. Loved the history of the building. We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel restaurant and bar “the Blue Mermaid”. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating. Our stay was lovely.

This is a beautiful property! We enjoyed our time here! Rooms are clean with a nautical vibe and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommend!

The room was spacious and immaculate. The Ben and Jerry’s just outside the lobby was a bonus AND the maritime museum off the lobby was 5 stars.

The resort tax is ridiculous- just make the rates higher.

Loved the location and the support from hotel employees - all were welcoming and friendly. We were able to park our car when we arrived and then utilised the extensive public transport network within walking distance.

Everything was as expected and there was nothing that we disliked although the service at the Blue Mermaid restaurant attached to the hotel could have been better.

The restaurant was amazing, not just the food but the staff they were so helpful and well trained .

The location is beyond amazing - views to the bay and golden gate Facilities were really good Our welcoming person was Sharon and she was very thoughtful and considerate

Coming from Australia the aud - USA $ conversion is not good . This ended up being quite expensive - at home we would not pay what we did for anything.

Hotel location was super...it close to everything that you need, the room was spacious, clean and you can open the window. This hotel had its own character and very confinience.

I dont know this is common or not but they charge us for cleaning our room and when we had a breakfast the supervisor / manager was so rude and ask me to move to another table while the restaurant wasn't that busy.

Beautiful hotel, right in the heart of where we wanted to be.

I thought we booked a room with a bay view, unfortunately, our view was across the roof at other rooms.

This was a family event during the Christmas season. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location and condition of the hotel was exceptional. All were happy.

The Mermaid bar staff were busy and a little scattered. It took time for them to notice people and offering coffee for people before their order.

The accommodations were very nice. We loved the decor of the hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room location was very quiet.

Didn’t realize the price of parking was taxable. This was probably my own fault for not checking. I just assumed that $75 for parking at $75 and not $85.

Staff persons were responsive, friendly, and engaging. The location beckoned one to walk and experience SF in a more intimate way in that regard. The bay view room and lobby common areas were clean and easy to navigate.

While I get it, I preferred the non-Christmas music as I found it a bit disorienting

The location was perfect for Fisherman's Wharfe, getting on the cable cars and feet away from the Buena Vista bar. Great restaurant on site which had in our opinion the bast Chowder (with crab)

The price is top end, but to be fair the hotel is great and if you eat / drink at restaurant you get a 15 dollar daily credit for each day you spend.

Whimsical, clean comfortable bed luxurious bedding and towels- everything was luxe! I was upgraded with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge

The room smelled good, for me that is always important. It was clean, everything worked well, the stuff was amazing, and they have nice rooms with best quality and a comfortable bed. the location was good.

The location, the size of the room and comfort of the bed were excellent.

We had breakfast in our room and despite the size of the room there was very little space for the breakfast tray. I would be good if the hotel offered a kettle in the room for guests who do not drink coffee. The breakfast tray remained outside our room for over 24 hours. The breakfast order was incorrect every morning (4 times). We have also had to query charges and discounts offered on check out invoice 3 times. However, despite these niggles we would recommend this hotel and stay again if we visit San Francisco again.

Hotel itself is beautiful. Beautifully decorated, spacious and clean. Reception area is fabulous with gorgeous open fire. Blue Mermaid hotel resturant and bar serves fabulous food for a good price. Staff were all very helpful, particularly housekeeping staff so friendly and polite and doormen who are so helpful in advising and getting transport for you. Excellent location for days chilling out in fishermans wharf and pier 39 area.

Would have been good if hotel resturant/bar stayed open later at night as with location of hotel there is no where local open later in evenings to get a meal or drink. As a family of adults this was an issue.

Very quiet and comfortable. For being such a busy/noisy area during the day, it’s very quiet at night.

Public transit from the airport BART/Muni will get you right to the hotel, but the street trolley from Union square takes a while, because there are long lines of tourists wanting to ride that line for photo ops, etc.

Very comfortable bed but very high! Location just across the road from the cable car was excellent. Very good breakfast. Attentive staff.

Dinner menu was not to our taste. Too fancy and all we wanted was plain simple food.

Full lounge area, no dressing gowns or slippers provided, very small bathroom with ancient shower.
