Tower 23 Hotel, San Diego

It’s in a great location and some of the service like the valet parking etc was really good.

I paid for an upgraded room (a sanctuary suite) but it was super near to the plant room and we were woken up at 05:00 each morning by the plant switching on. It also had a weird outside space which seemed to be shared with the next door room. The reception staff were a mixed bag, some really friendly and helpful others not so much

Location is great and decor is really nice. I think it could be fun to have a group of friends book separate rooms and enjoy the shared roof deck.

I don’t think it was targeted to me and my daughter with loud music playing outside, over-capacity minibar, trucker hats for sale, and mens smelling toiletries. I think it suits a certain clientele that we were not.

The views are amazing. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Valet service was wonderful very nice employees!

We were disappointed with the amenities. There is a resort fee but it does not feel like a resort. We did not realize there is no pool or hot tub. On site dining is very fancy and beautiful but can not inviting for the average traveler. Not a place for families, I would not bring my children, much more suitable for couples.

The location of the hotel and the spacious rooms as well as the restaurant of the hotel where the best things that we liked!

We didn’t liked the fact that the housekeeping service was upon request, in a 4 star hotel you shouldn’t ask for your room to be cleaned.

Location was fabulous and on site restaurant was convenient . Valet staff was excellent and very friendly too.

No pool, no room service or not offered and no sundeck food/beverage service…. Amenities were not explained during check in and no brochure or handouts given. Host staff in restaurant were reluctant, not friendly and food options for vegan and vegetarian were very limited both in number of options and in the variety of ingredients used.

Everything I needed and wanted from the experience. Restaurant was fairly priced and service from food to staff was grate and cleaned my room expected( linens). Bike rentals for the short distance cruiseing and San Diego city was a 25$ Uber away. Go here go have a good time.

Personally I come from a town where check ins are usually just before noon. Maybe a better scheduled check in time case by case. Not that big of a deal when there's a bunch to do and they'll hold your luggage.

The hotel is in the best location. Close to everything and I loved that it had an on-site restaurant. The customer service was outstanding, we felt very taken care of.

I wish it had a pool however I don’t know where it would go since the property isn’t large.

Staff are very friendly and willing to help. In a great location - fun to ride the hotel bikes along the beach boardwalks! Close to many great restaurants and bars. The welcome cocktails are a lovely touch.

Only thing that is missing is a pool!

Amazing restaurant and sushi. Great selection of in room goodies. Lovely bottle of Prosecco on arrival and free drinks are the bar.

Location to the beach...my room opened onto the 2nd floor patio...great views!! Room service was prompt and all of the employees were very helpful, professional and courteous...definitely coming back again!!

- Coffee machine was below average and only two coffee pods supplied for the whole stay. This is the case as there is no room service below 5 days stay unless you ask for it. - Full bar and nibbles all payable including bottled water. I would expect to have at least one free water bottle p/p in the room

The dinners and wait staff were excellent as well as the valet staff.

The front desk staff could have been friendlier.

I loved that the beach was right out the main lobby door. It was also a quick walk to my sister’s house! Very convenient!

I’m pretty sure my reservation said I booked a double queen but was then provided a single king. The mattress was also too hard and the pillows were flat. Our room was also right above the reset aura to entrance so it was very noisy. Also, you should provide more channel options on the TV. King of Queens is NOT my favorite.

The room was set up awkward. Bathroom door opened to bed. Sink was small no room for toiletries.

We absolutely loved staying at Tower 23 and will stay there again when we go back to SD! The staff was so friendly, helpful, courteous… the location is just perfect! Don’t judge a book by its cover because when you come in and park it seems small but the quality of this hotel on the beach is truly exceptional! Loved Kevin who checked us in and was so helpful:-)

This was our first time visiting San Diego and I’m glad we chose Tower 23. The room was very clean, the staff was amazing and the location is exceptional. We will be staying here on our next trip. If I could give 10 stars I would.

Perfect location on Pacific Beach! Good restaurant onsite called JRDN overlooks the boardwalk. Sanctuary Suite was a spacious studio set up with a sofa bed. Staff was very welcoming and friendly, especially the valets. Parking was included in the resort fee. Checkin includes two free welcome drinks and despite getting there at 11pm, we were greeted very warmly. Outdoor space had a lovely fire pit overlooking the beach!

The plumbing noises after using the sink and toilet were horrendous. Maintenance fixed the shower drain the next day but our sink gurgled loudly every time we used it. The last morning we were awoken by water falling through the recessed lights in the shower and over the tub. When I mentioned these inconveniences at checkout, I was given a $150 credit. I paid $800 per night for three nights…

We loved the location and the fire pit on the deck!

I did not love the barn door between the bathroom and the rest of the room. It did not provide complete privacy.

They give us a free upgrade at check-in and our room was exceptional. Fantastic ocean views, two balconies, sparkling clean. Restaurant on site is excellent. Free bikes were a fun perk and a great way to explore the area! Worth the splurge!

The bed was not comfortable for us and the room felt warm even with turning down the ac. Had to keep the door cracked at night to let the cold nights cool off the room.
