1906 Lodge, San Diego

It was so cozy and lovely. Everyone was so sweet, breakfast was delicious, huge bathtub in the spa suite. Walking distance to a ton of stuff, including the beach.

the Winchester room is directly above the office. every morning there was noise from the staff starting the day. loud enough to wake both of us. the mattress needs to be replaced. noisy for a platform bed. metal springs made sounds of a warned down mattress. lumpy and uneven.

Very central location with easy access to restaurants and shops. Lovely breakfast including home baking - a very welcome change from the chain hotels. This hotel is a gem, beautifully decorated, many period features, a spacious bedroom a gorgeous bathroom and free, secure parking in the underground garage.

We liked everything about this hotel.

Amazing staff, very hospitable and the place felt like a home away from home. They have a beautiful garden and breakfast staff is very friendly. Loved that they made me feel really welcome and even left a bag of home baked cookies in the room.

The beds weren’t very comfortable and it’s a bit far when you think about trying to do things downtown San Diego.

I liked that you are contacted prior to your arrival to verify when you would be arriving and the personal touches that were added to the room. There were freshly baked cookies there when I arrived and the staff was very friendly. The pictures online didn’t do it justice it is a beautiful place.

Parking was comfortable but not for large vehicles

Parking, staff, tea time @ 4p, the property was well maintained, excellent location, value.

The bathroom door is a pocket door that is heavy and hard to close, the handle should be a different type and door dragged on the carpet. Minor issue for me, but an elderly couple would never be able to close it.

Historic vibe, Unique touches, friendly staff, peaceful atmosphere, and delicious home-baked items featured at breakfast. Free parking and great location too!

The staff was congenial and helpful! The grounds were beautiful and well kept. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast every morning as well as a tasty Happy Hour every afternoon all included in the price. Our room was comfortable and roomy.

The only suggestion I would like to give is to have the tv on a swivel stand as it was difficult to watch from certain parts of the room.

It was quiet clean and extremely hospitable! Loved the stay and I would definitely return and pay for a stay for my mom as a gift.

One on the Jets in the tub wasn’t working!

Great location right in the centre of Coronado but on a quiet road so really relaxing and well located for the shops, restaurants and beach. Very homely feel and the staff were welcoming. Nice room with coffee facilities on the landing outside our room.

The staff was very friendly and it was close to restaurants. It was a cute little place

The Portable AC in our room kept turning off making it hard to sleep. The happy hour and hordurives was not worth it. The room price really wasnt worth the cost either

The breakfast was phenomenal. Breakfast lady was genuinely pleasant. Great location. Fantastic parking.

The room interior was a bit dated and cheap. The shower was full of limescale. The clock radio didn't actually play music. The TV did not have access to any streaming/programming such as Netflix, which seems like a basic offering these days. The internet was awful and the hotel replied "tough luck if you are using an Apple", which shouldn't matter.

Location was excellent, breakfast staff were courteous and friendly.

The Innkeeper kept us waiting outside the building for ten minutes when we arrived to check in. We had called to say we were there, and through the intercom she said she was serving drinks to other guests for happy hour and we would have to wait. Finally other guests let us in and went and found her. She really wasn’t very welcoming. Why not open the door and give us a drink? We had been driving for 8 hours and were tired. She could have handled the paperwork later. She also switched the room on us, because she said we had booked a handicapped room. The room she gave us was nothing like the picture of what we booked online. Lastly, the inn played what I call “lobotomy music” all the time. We found we couldn’t read in any of the common areas because of it. We sat outside at breakfast to get away from it.

At time of booking, on the map the lodge appeared to be very close to the beach. We are not young so dragging beach gear, chairs etc was not an option.
