Hotel Z Staypineapple, San Diego

I stayed at Hotel Z, during my vacation, and it was fantastic! The location is perfect—just a 5-minute walk from the main attractions and surrounded by great restaurants. The room was spotless, the bed was incredibly comfortable with little company “Maya the husky” :)) The staff was very friendly and helpful! Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again!

The room had a funny smell and was dark with one small window and no outlook. The chairs were uncomfortable.

Staff were all SO friendly and provided true hospitality. All the little details were thought of including our dogs name on the welcome sign and doggy welcome package. Appreciate the complimentary check in drinks. Room was spotless. Felt safe and cared for. Thank you!

Great place and comfort! Omg the beds were amazing with puffy blankets I wish I had at home. And 1 min away from everything like restaurants and bars.

The place was amazing!!:) Looks just like in the pictures.. The staff were very nice and helpful, especially Cynthia and Lulu! Thank you very much!!! I extended my stay twice because of a flight cancelation, and was very happy to stay at the same place! The room was very lovely, it was equipped with everything I needed, especially the coffee machine ;-) The bed was so comfortable, and everything was just wonderful! The location was perfect for me, right in downtown, close to public transportation, restaurants and shops.

Pineapple theme is so cute. The beds and robes are so comfy. The amenities are simple but great - pineapple shaped cookies, cookie brewed downstairs, games in the lobby, free water bottles. Location couldn’t be better, walking distance from shops and restaurants.

The bed was amazing. It was the most comfortable hotel I have ever slept in. The location was perfect for walking distance for all the things we did in the gas lamp area. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

This is a quirky but delightful property in the heart of the Gaslamp district. The little touches make it special. A special water bottle with a station in the lobby to refill (including sparkling water!) plus yellow robes and funky fun pillows. Cookies in lobby for afternoon coffee service. Area is central to many restaurants in San Diego (and a CVS).

Room a bit dark since window facing a wall! Could hear noises from people moving above us.

Extremely lovely themed hotel with a lot of attention to details that will delight you upon arrival. Bed was very comfortable, and I appreciated the two individual duvets! My only regret is that I didn't have a chance to stay longer to enjoy it all.

The staff at reception was caring and helpful, specially Cynthia and Lulu. I enjoyed the free bikes a lot, I used them twice a day to excersise and get rid of the jetlag. Location is wonderful. Comfotable bed, good shower and outstanding towells (as they brag). Plenty of USB sockets around the room.

The shower faucet was too complicated, flow and tempretarure could be controled independetly, but not really and I almost scolded myslef a couple times. The "pine USB station" in my room was not working too well.

Fantastic position in the heart of Gaslamp District walking distance for Seaport area . Quirky extras a pineapple water bottle which was refilled in the lobby, unlimited tea and coffee pods for a smart machine in the room and free bike hire. We loved the two single duvets on a double bed it worked well, fridge and microwave in the room. They only service your room every 2 days but are happy to give you fresh towels everyday. The WiFi was strong and free. We didn't park but it did appear to have parking just behind the hotel. They gave us free drinks vouchers from the fridge behind reception and also printed our aircraft boarding passes willingly without charge . I would definitely book another Stay Pineapple in another location if offered. Generally most of the staff we encountered were professional and helpful.

This is a city centre location, don't expect any sort of view. The air con unit in our very pleasant and light room 318 was in a low position next to the bed which was not ideal as it was a low cold draft when on.

The size of the room was great! The bedroom and the two separate comforters as not only comfy but super convenient! The hotel adds like the little cookies in the lobby was amazing, the location was perfect~!

There's two shower heads - one that is super high and one you can grab and use- the one that was higher, was dribbling out water. That's about it.

The bed and bedding was great. The location was central to Gaslamp area and easy to walk to attractions and restaurants We loved the little touches like reusable water bottles and a bottle filler in the lobby. The cookies in the lobby were a nice treat

The rooms are a bit small for a family to share unless you have small children. No on site parking. If you are going to visit during a ball game or concert pre book your parking at a near by garage

Room was on back side of building thus fairly quiet given the location of the hotel in the gaslamp district. Bed was sumptuous.

We arrived at 4 pm but our room was not yet ready. We were offered another room so it all worked out. Also, the room needs an additional mirror. Perhaps one in the main part in addition to the one in the bathroom.

I tried prebooking for july 2025… why is the price per night 3 times as much…? $1300 a night is ridiculous, absolutely will not stay here if price gouging is regular thing at this property

Rooms were very clean, comfortable and spacious. The pillows and mattress were great. Free drink during the stay was a nice touch. The location cannot be beat given it was a block away from the main drag of Gaslamp.

The location was great! Within walking distance to the Convention Center (I was there for Comic-Con) and the trolley. Lots of places to eat nearby. The cleaning staff were cool!

The price of the hotel! I understand that prices were going to be an issue because it coincides with a special event, but good grief! The price of my stay was the equivalent of a down payment for a car.

Cute little place! Loved the duvet and the pineapple 🍍 decor. The bikes were a plus, even though we were too tired to ride. The complimentary drinks are awesome. Nice staff too!

The only thing is that darn parking! Sheesh! But what can you do. It won't keep me from returning. 😊

Everything we had planned in the Gaslamp district was less than 4 blocks away from the hotel! Karaoke, bars, dinner, everything. Parking was a block away for $14. Free drink upon arrival is such an amazing touch.

We had to ask for all the linens, pillows, etc for out pull out couch. Would be nice for all of it to be there when we arrived

I wanted to have a little getaway trip to San Diego, and this hotel has really made my trip so much better. It's a bit of a walk from the Amtrak stop at Santa Fe Depot station, but it was very scenic. When I arrived, I was greeted with a smile, a complimentary drink voucher, and some tasty pineapple-shaped sugar cookies. The bed was very comfortable. I was alone, so I only needed one duvet cover, but it's great for couples who don't like to share blankets evenly 😂 There was a great selection of channels available on TV if you decide to stay in for awhile. There was complimentary coffee and tea in the room, along with a reusable water bottle that you can refill in the lobby. There is a microwave in the lobby. The desk and work chair was very comfortable, and the Wi-Fi was fast and reliable. There are an ample amount of outlets and usb ports in the room. Although I didn't have a city-facing room, there was still an ample amount of natural lighting, so I didn't worry too much about the view. I always appreciate hotels having hand soap. There was hand soap and and hand body lotion next to the sink, and shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the shower. The water pressure in the shower was great, and the towels were comfortable. There was an AC-Heater in the room, so you don't have to worry about the summer heat or the winter breeze. For any dog-owners, they have dog treats in the lobby, and can make a pup-cup for your dog. There's an elevator, and a ice machine on the third floor. If you are able to, I highly recommend using the available bikes to explore the city. The bikes alone are worth the resort fee. The hotel is very conveniently located in the heart of the Gaslamp quarter. It's a mere half-block away from the main street, so it's close enough to join the action, but far enough where you don't have to be woken up late at night.

If you plan to bring or store perishable food, I recommend bringing a small cooler or insulated bag to keep your food fresh, as there is no fridge in the room.

The location is perfect for walking around downtown at night for restaurants or bars. The room itself was incredibly comfortbale- best bed I have slept on at a hotel. Bathrobes and 2 comforters were provided which was more than appreciated. Everything was very clean. They also allow you access to bicycles, a water refill station and a complimentary drink when you arrive. Could not have asked for a better experience!

There was not parking available on site so we needed to reserve a parking spot with spot hero before arriving to the Downtown area. I would not recommend using spot hero in the future; we had to argue with a parking attendant to let us park in the garage we had pre-paid for.

The property was fun with cookies and a water bar. I also liked how close it was to the baseball stadium. Lots of places to eat nearby.

There is no parking onsite. Had to parked at the nearby Park it on the Market. It could have been more convenient to be able to work out a deal with them or another lot to be able to go in and out and pay one daily price.
