Generator Hostel, Rome

I didn't have breakfast as there was many places around honest but I did have dinner in the cafe/bar almost every other night. The food was really good and for a great price. Everyone at the front desk was so pleasant and helpful. They made my 1st time staying at a hostel enjoyable. The 7 min walk from the train station was a huge bonus. I didn't take the train but the bus service from and to the airport and it saved me alot of money! I felt extremely safe staying there because you have to have your key to access the building at all times. They make sure that safety is a top priority. Also don't be discouraged by the amount of graffiti it is just art and everyone pretty much mind their own business as you are walking the streets. The beds were extremely comfortable especially from walking all day. The lockers under the bunkbeds were a great size for a carryon and they had bigger lockers on the main floor free of charge.

The rooms need some more updating to really reflect the style of the social areas for it all to flow better. Having AC in each room would definitely help especially when it's very hot.

Rooms and beds were very clean, the community building at the hostel is amazing makes a lot of new connections, the staff is really nice and speak English really well.

Maybe make sure the cards work better because they malfunction sometimes

Drinks on the rooftop was a great experience. The hotel is located close by the central station which was quite convenient. The staff was friendly and very easygoing.

The room didn't have a fridge and simple things like glasses for drinking water. Some weird stuff was happening with the electricity and the way the light switches were working.

Nice and clean. It was well maintained with rooftop bar. Great staff who helped us nicely.

It is located in a bit of shady/not so clean area. Nearby metro is currently under maintenance so had to travel a bit farther. Also rooms are not sound proof, you can hear your neighbours from across the walls sometimes.

Shower was flooding in one bathroom. Toilet didn't work in the same bathroom and in the other bathroom the sink was backing up. I told the staff so hopefully they were able to repair before the next group of people came in

The TV chromecast didn't work. Poor shower drain.

Really close to the station and only about a 20 minute walk to the colosseum, really nice roof top bar as well.

Overall it’s a great hostel but my big issue was that you couldn’t bring in outside food, when booking a hostel as a solo backpacker you expect to be able to bring in food and have somewhere to be able to heat up food I.e. a microwave or a kettle. This policy appears to me to be just so the company can make more money off the food they sell which wasn’t bad food but just a very obvious money making policy

Looks good but is in need of small paint jobs and repairs.

The AC is complicated

The location is close to Termini Station, 10 min waking more or less. The room was fine, The bunker bed with plugs and light, and 1 locker under the bed. The room had the shower and the washroom separated. They have a terrace and also they serve breakfast for a price.

There was not enough toilet paper in the washroom. They need to put more since there were 4 people in the room. Everything else was pretty fine. Maybe It does not seem very nice the location at night but nothing happend.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The common areas of the hostel is really nice and is also very well located, close to the train station and 15min walk from very famous tourist spots. I stayed in a 6bed room and it was very spacious.

One of the toilets wasn’t working properly even after the guy tried to fix it, but good thing they have two bathrooms in each bedroom!

Good location near coliseum and train station, had all the amenities you would expect.

Vibe of the place, cost was definitely not worth it and on top of this there was no flexibility to check in or check out.

Very modern, near public transport, events at the hostel

The room was freezing. Our Aircon no matter if we tried to change the temp or turn it off kept the room at the same cold temp. There rooms also need to be touched up a bit. For the price per night the walls were pretty dirty and the decor was peeling and there was a lot of dust at the top of the walls.

It was closer to the termini and atmosphere

The kitchen facility very poor and not very clean. It will be nice to have a buffet breakfast and the furniture needs to be change it’s to old a bit of a makeover to the place won’t hurt.

The beds were very comfortable and we had two en suites for our 6 bed room which was amazing. The room was extrememly spacious and there were many options for sitting and relaxing all over the hostel. The laundry facilities were useful.

There was a lot of construction going on, it seemed like the guest elevator was being renovated so we had to use the service elevator. This was not a problem at all, as it was great that there was another option other than the guest lift.

The staffs were friendly and nice Wi-Fi speed was good

Staff was friendly and helpful! Once in the hostel, it is beautiful and the rooms were a good size and comfortable. We were able to store our luggage in their lockers for our day of exploration - which was great!

The walk from the Termini train station to the hostel wasn't great, but sort of expected for this part of town. If you're a female traveler, I would recommend getting a ride to the hostel.

A lovely vibrant hostel, with comfortable beds and facilities. Very convenient as it is near the train station. I grabbed a drink in the downstairs bar and it was really nice as I would be probably feel odd in a bar elsewhere but at least I was in my own hostel and had the atmosphere of other solo travellers.

Only that I would not walk around the area nearby alone at night as there is a lot of homeless males. I think a towel should be included in the price. The lift is under repair so bringing my heavy suitcase up 6 flights of stairs was challenging. The room also got quiet hot.
