Generator Hostel, Rome

Walking distance to the main attractions in the city. Comfortable bed, staff are friendly and facilities are clean.

The location wasn't ideal

Had a good stay here, location is convenient and the bed was comfortable. Little pricy, but it’s Rome.

I was pleasantly surprised! The hostel was very nice and clean, offering many more facilities than a 4-star hotel, and it was well-maintained. Its location provided easy access to Termini Station (the main station in Rome) and Emanuel Station, situated in a vibrant area of the city. I highly recommend it for both long and short stays, especially for female solo travelers.

I'm 6'4. so the bed was a bit small.

It's international Professional The best hostel-beds, just like in other Generator-Hostels Well thought-through beds with privacy wall for the head And lockers which make use of the space under the bed The beds made out of metal. So no grinding noises in the night The ladder at the foot-end, welded to the bed. So here too, no noises in anyone's face Would be nice if Generator would make long-term-hostels or something like that. So that you can actually really live there for years Would be the end of the housing-crisis...

Nothing really

Room was spacious and had two bathrooms, the living room area downstairs was nice, beds were comfortable, everything was clean. The hostel is very close to the central station. You get a welcome drink.

No kitchen area so you can't prepare your own meal (they didn't even have mugs or cutlery). The area around the hostel was kinda shady.

The staff is really nice and the hostel rooms are pretty spacious and clean. It is near the termini station and other tourist attractions.

Price and facilities in general. The neighborhood seems a bit unsafe, but it is near the main train station and restorants, actually, just by walking a bit you can arrive to "trattoria vecchia roma" very good restorant.

Just the toilets wasn't that comfortable and clean, it could be a bit better. Although I also think it's a bit of guests fault.

The Staffs are friendly. I took the private room, which was very comfortable for a short business trip. It is close to the Termini, making it comfortable to catch any transport to other parts of the city.

Nice location close to Termini station. Quite spacious and reasonably clean rooms with bathrooms.

The staff was not very friendly. The roof terrace was closed (please open it, the view should be good from there!)

The shared dorms were really spacious and clean.

Virtually no social atmosphere.

Staff was VERY friendly. Room was well equipped and VERY clean. Location was extremely convenient to Termini Station and affordable places to eat. 24hr staff was great. Easy entrance/exit system. I enjoyed my stay.

Storage Locker system did NOT work, ate my money and left me with no locker to store my heavy backpack (prior to check-in.) Very bad. Also, the bunk beds had some sort of mesh on the bottom that was very noisy every time someone got in/out of bed, or turned in bed. Disruptive to sleep. Location was in a slightly less desireable neighborhood, though I never felt unsafe.

The bathrooms are in the room. The room smelled of urine. I could barely sleep. Breakfast not worth the money.

I think the staff were very helpful and kind. I mistakenly booked a mixed room but since I am a Muslim I can't share a room with guys. But the staff really handled the situation professionally because I went there alone and if they just kicked me out Idk where to go. haaha

I just dislike that others use slippers in the room. I didn't know that and I didn't bring a slipper with me. I think the administrator needs to prepare room slippers to avoid dirt on the floor.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Boutique decor was cool

The market out the front was noisy from 5am with deliveries and set up each day - we learnt to close the window after night 1.

We had some issues with a rude dorm mate but the staff was really understand and professional. Lorenzo especially was a big help.

Great location, bar on site, 24 hour reception & pretty clean.

Our only complaint was we had to ask for extra pillows multiple times.

Every thing was good. Allowed check in before time. Location is about 10-15 minutes walk from central railway station. I understand that a metro station is also nearby but due to some maintenance activity, it was not operational during my period of stay. If you are vegetarian and like Indian food, then there is Bangladesh restaurant adjoining the hostel. You will find lot of Bangladesh residents in the area.

Towels are available for rent, not free. The price is slightly high for a hostel.

The staff was very friendly (the guy who checked us in was very handsome too) and helpful. everything was clean and very accessible.

Outside the property there are a lot of sketchy people watching to see if you look lost, I think to try and get you to give them money. Be very determined in your walking from Termini to the Generator. If you look like you have a Roman attitude they seem to leave you alone. If you look line a tourist you may have some trouble.

Room was good and specious. Amazing location and staff were friendly and helpful. I was able to make three new friends from my room (Jose, Marina & Mariel).

Noise from the outside was loud at night.

You know what you're getting with Generator. Does the job for relatively cheap prices.

You can end up spending more cash than you'd expect on add-ons, like lockers and towels.

Super cool hostel near Roma Termini Station, staff were great, room was clean and comfortable, everything was perfect for a few-night-stay in Rome 😊

outside the hotel you get a creepy vibe at night. Also personally I did not find restaurant that great in terms of food and was overpriced.

I found it expensive for a hostel, 70eur for a Tuesday night in a 6 bed dormitory !

Confortable rooms, very helpful receptionist. Neighborhood doesn't look grate but it is close to train and bus stations, you can take around a 20 minutes walt to the Coliseum of Rome

Location, the personnel, well maintained

This place is a great typical European hostel with some artsy vibe, a rooftop, students and bars. I like this type of stay, you can get to know some people, have a drink and hang out. The price was great as well as the distance from the city center — 20 minutes walk to Colosseum etc. The staff was super-friendly and overall I did enjoy my stay. The neighbors I had were very polite, the room was clean and it felt safe. None of us even put a locker on our stuff. I slept very well too. However, the district itself is a real ghetto 😃 be prepared for that. I don’t suggest to go out after 8pm, there are many shady homeless people doing dr*gs. Especially in the park next to the hostel. Just be careful. They catcalled me and also some are looking like zombies. It’s not the problem of the hostel — I don’t have any complaints — it’s the problem of Rome. Just don’t go out after the sunset, mark my words. Except of that — great value 👍

Location was pretty central. Easy to get from main station to hostel, sites and airport- you could also walk about 25 minutes to Colloseum! It was clean, spacious, quiet at night and staff were friendly and helpful
