it’s well located, the wet sauna is perfectly clean, and the pool has amazing views to Ipanema beach

There were lorries working in the beach during the night, so I couldn’t sleep.

The beachfront location is priceless! Beach service (chairs and parasol) is very handy. Breakfast is tasty and plentiful. Staff are super friendly and helpful.

The room itself has seen better days. The bed linens were rough. Not a room made for lounging, but it wasn't really an issue. The beachfront view was spectacular. It was fun to hang out listening to the sounds of the beach and urban life.

The location including the view from the infinity pool at the top of the hotel was excellent!!

Location is fantastic (the beach, the sunset) providing you don't mind some noise. Staff were lovely. Bed was comfy.

I was on the first floor and there was a great deal of noise from the park next door and the road especially on weekend nights. Very hard to sleep.

The location and clinliness

This hotel is ideally located just across the road from the beach. Nice restaurants and supermarkets nearby. The staff in reception were very helpful and spoke English which made life easy for us. Breakfast was very satisfactory with lots of choices offered.

I don’t know if this is a problem with the hotel’s credit card technology or not but my MasterCard credit card was declined by the system even though it had been preloaded with money. Fortunately I was travelling with family who could pay my bill. My MasterCard provider assures me that the problem was not caused by MasterCard. So perhaps future travellers should make sure they have more than one method of payment with them. Perhaps the hotel could check this out as it could cause serious problems for future travellers. My family members were using Visa and Revolut which were accepted.

The room was oceanfront and the location was excellent as we wanted to be close to Leblon

Because there was little room availability during the Carnaval days, the price of the room was very high and did not match the level of the room accommodations.

The view which we paid extra for was incredible. Stay as high up as possible to avoid the traffic noise. This end of the beach is quite quiet and you can hear the sea. The staff were really good! Very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is a buffet and huge. Decent.

It is in need of repair. 3 plug sockets didn't work, so had to use just one which was halfway up the wall by the door. There was a big hole in the glass window with cardboard to repair it. The balcony is tiny and no furniture there to sit and have a drink. Bathroom door was broken. Wifi was bad Toilet broke A lot of money considering the state of repair that's needed.

the staff of friendly, breakfast is really great and the location is absolutely fantastic.

it’s not really about the hotel, but how people behave in the pool area. specially parents letting their kids do as they might, not paying attention to the fact others might also want to use the pool.

Praia had a room ready to check in at an early time after a long overnight flight, at no charge, which was greatly appreciated! The location is great, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was nice.

Staff had difficulty deducting min-bar and room service purchases from deposit and returning the balance. However, four days after check-out, the issue was correctly solved. The pool area is tiny with stained cushions and old furniture; took one look and immediately left the pool area.

I’ve never wrote a bad review in my life but the WiFi was terrible. You would think for $2,000R a night the WiFi would work. I needed it for work but it doesn’t stay connected in the room longer that 2 minutes and needed it for work. Plus I had no interest in staying down in the lobby and hanging out with the staff just so I could get service. I asked the guy at the front desk to go take a look at it to see if there was anything he could do. he took his laptop up there and connected to it and was back down in less than 5 minutes and said nothing about it upon my return. I have stayed in hostels with better WiFi. really unfortunate.

All of the staff were very kind and attentive. The upstairs pool was lovely with a great view, food was pretty good overall and the value was incredible for being right on the beach of Ipanema.

The bathroom in my room did not have a tub and the upstairs seating by the pool could be formatted better/ have more umbrellas

Some rooms have a connection door (but it’s always locked) to the other room and if your neighbors are not so quiet, that could be annoying.

Opening the balcony door and hear the ocean is priceless. I definitely recommend paying for a superior room as they will be refurbished. Some reviews above mention tired looking rooms but mine was perfect. I couldn’t check in early which is understandable but I appreciated the receptionist’s offer to WhatsApp me when room was ready. I’ve never been offered that in a hotel before.

Nothing really. I usually prefer staying closer to the gay bars in Ipanema but it was a short stay so I didn’t mind.

Breakfast bife was excellent, a lot of different options and a very helpful staff.

The cashier or a manager at the 16th floor should not send waiters to follow the hotel guests to their rooms in order to pay for a drink that was previously bought at the pool on the top of the hotel. The receipt for the drink should be given to a guest and put on the tab of the hotel guest, who can pay for it later at the reception or in the restaurant if not having the money immediatelly at the pool.

the rooms need a renovation, as it’s design is too simple and outdated for the location.

It’s very pretty, the view is amazing

the furniture looked a little bit old comparing to the other ones, and the balcony really dangerous, specially staying on a higher floor.
