The staff was outstanding, very attentive and helpful.

No place to put suitcases except on the floor.

The location on was perfect. The outdoor seating after touring the city was ideal.

The property was beautiful, and room was very quiet with an awesome view of the Douro River. The main restaurant was unique, with excellent service. Daily breakfast offerings were tasty. The two small bars in the front and river side were both relaxing and enjoyable to watch activities. Front desk also was very helpful with recommendations and assisting with transportation.

No issues noted whatsoever. Property is exceptional!

Furnishings a little dated.

Great location, a bit challenging for car driving guests however, as you cannot pull into the hotel. Rather, you have to park to the side of the road near the top (hope it’s not garbage collection hour like it was for me!), and bring your luggage down to the hotel. Parking not far at all however, which made up for it.

Some of the restaurant staff didn’t like seeing my service dog with me. And service felt slighted on the last day especially.

Location was great. Our room was modern, spacious and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful with all our questions. Breakfast was superb! We will definitely stay here again our next visit to Porto.

The location is right in the middle of everything. The breakfast is full and wonderful and sets you up for a great day of touring the city and area. Compliments to the chef.

Excellent location. Bar service at the front of the hotel struggled. Bar service in the RIB restaurant was excellent. Front desk was very helpful.

Wonderful hotel, staff, service, amenities, and location. An amazing breakfast is included. They were especially welcoming to our service animal providing a dog bed, food and treats! Truly one of the nicest hotels anywhere.

The hotel is in a perfect location! I definitely want to return here. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good too. The view to the river was amazing!

This hotel has an excellent location. Right on the river and the center of many of the things happening in the city. We upgraded to a balcony room that faced the river. Well worth the charge. Beautiful views. Every morning there was a great breakfast included. Though the building is old world, this hotel was very updated and had many modern conveniences. An extra nice touch was the welcome amenity of port and pastries. Also, a fantastic shower. I don't think I've ever encountered a shower with the pressure and temps that this one had.

Because of the location, it is at the bottom of the hill, along the river. Everywhere is an uphill walk, but the positive is that it is downhill on the way back to the hotel. Many times cars are not allowed down the street to the hotel, so upon check out, we had to walk the block up the hill to meet our Bolt taxi.

Beautiful hotel, centrally located. The staff is excellent!!! They make you feel very welcome!

Restaurant people in the mornings don’t understand customer service and watching out for their needs and wants. Even tough to get a coffee refill.

No on site parking but public parking is nearby. Staff will help with luggages from parking.

Rooms may be noisy from street below.

Excellent location and central

The staff were amazing and so friendly. The hotel is amazing overall! The location is so good! The room was really nice. The breakfast was good. The bar options are so good as well!

but the space for the breakfast area was a little too crowded. The bathroom shower in the room could be improved related to the spray that exits to the bathroom floor area. The bathroom doors are glass which are beautiful but in our case would not stay shut.

Great location although you need to be fit to manage the uphill climb to the city from this riverside hotel. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Food in the RIB restaurant was delicious.

Absolutely loved the hotel. Location is literally perfect - right on the water with amazing views. Food was phenomenal. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. This was our first time in Porto and we would definitely book Pestana Vintage again if we go back. Really top notch place and people. Thanks you!!

Location could not have been better. Staff were excellent. Friendly courteous and very helpful. The room looked out over the River Douro so excellent views. Bar area especially outside was well located and provided a very pleasant environment for a casual drink. The elevators all worked well.

Breakfast was OK but less than I would have expected from a 5 Star hotel. The facilities too were less than expected from a 5 Star facility. Not a very large room, not much storage space, few coat hangers & no chest of drawers for clothing. The shower was an "over-the-bath" version with a high step over the bath edge and no shower curtain with the result that water made otherwise dry areas overly wet. The water flow into the hand basin was very slow so getting enough water was an overly-lengthy process.

It was perfect. We loved the room, the location, the hotel restaurants and bar, the location, and the staff. We hope to go back next year:)

Beautiful location overlooking the River Duoro and the Luis I bridge. Convenient for access to waterfront, multiple restaurants, shops, river cruises and metro. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious, with a balcony overlooking the river. The breakfast choices were plentiful and tasty. The service was immaculate, from every single member of staff. The cost is reasonable for this great location and high standards.

Location was amazing

The staff here are excellent, they were always helpful and friendly and professional. The breakfast was great, lots of variety suiting different tastes/needs/peculiarities, and they also had a cool cheese and wine/mimosa room at breakfast, if your holiday leans in that direction. And it did. It was my wife's birthday and they gave us complementary chocolates and champagne, which helped our holiday lean even further in that direction. Location is excellent, right in the middle of it, but still quiet inside. Bed was super comfortable.

Room was a bit old, but still clean, big and comfortable

This is our second stay at a Pestana and it was as good as the first one (in Madeira). The location is adjacent to the River Douro and only 5 minutes walk from the Ponte Luis. The hotel staff were all fantastically helpful and kind. The lady who booked us in (Diana) was really kind and organised dinner bookings for us at 2 local restaurants that served traditional Portuguese food. The atmosphere of the Hotel is calm and luxurious yet historical and in keeping with the architecture of the region.

It was all good. The only slight inconvenience, which did not bother us, was the limited access for taxis directly to the Hotel unless they had an additional permit. We walked the 2 minutes from the main road and it was not a problem.

The hotel is clean, has everything needed. Breakfast is very good. The staff are very friendly. The location is exceptional. Everything goes for this hotel, didnt face a negative in our stay here

Cant really think of anything. To take a cab or uber you need to go a few blocks uphill but thats not the hotels fault for being in a historic building

Rooms need an upgrade , been the same for too long. This was my fourth visit and i was disappointed with our room, small, facing the narrow road behind the hotel.

Location wonderful but need to know beforehand the parking issues. Great breakfast and the restaurant was very good. Cannot fault the staff, excellent booking in and help with anything needed

The hotel is in a perfect location and I loved being so close to the water .I was pleasantly surprised at the modern bathroom as some of the reviews were disappointed by them .The room was lovely and the bed comfy .There was noise outside but the singers stopped early in the evening .The staff were lovely .I would say that the breakfast was the area that could have been improved .I know it was exceptionally busy but I have been to other hotels where it’s been slicker .The hot food was just warm and even the food ordered was tepid .There was no system to get a coffee or a specific person to request the breakfast from . All could be remedied so I would not fault the staff who all tried their best .A fabulous break away

A very welcoming staff at the front desk and in the breakfast room. The breakfast is amazing, catering to everybody’s tastes. You can be ‘healthy’ or indulge in decadent delicious sweets. So much to choose from.

The building and location were beautiful and the amenities were wonderful.

The only slight criticism is that the restaurant (Rib) is quite pricey.
