The White Box Boutique House, Porto

I would have given everything excellent but for the fact we asked for a ground floor unit as we have mobility problems and are elderly they put us on the top floor 5 floors up if we had been told we were on the top floor we would have booked elsewhere. But everything else was fine. They did carry our suitcases up for us but we still had to use the stairs.

Amazing boutique hotel, clean a spacious, well had a two bedroom flat. Lovely kitchen/ dinning room area. Do recommend this place.

Very kind staff, stylish and modern room and common space

Bathroom very stylish, but not comfortable: shower not adjustable (in this case will be great to put single use shower cap, because I had to wet hairs every time), not enough space around sink to put toiletries. Very poor soundproof, we heard each step of the neighbors. Safety box wasn’t working.

All Perfect. Lift would be nice instead of stairs, but that is probably impossible to install. If you‘re fine with stairs, enjoy this place :)

Spacious room, nice self serve breakfast, comfortable bed, pleasant and helpful staff. Great location, restaurants on either side of the property, really close to shops, about a 20 mins walk to the edge of the old town.

The three flights of steep stairs to our top floor room! It was hard for us at times, being “senior” seniors. Fortunately, we had help from staff with our luggage.

Beautifully furnished guest house. Spacious bedrooms and well-stocked common areas (kitchen and living room). Very central location on a pedestrian street in Porto. Excellent breakfast in the morning and friendly and responsive staff. Highly recommend staying here! Rooms also have air conditioning.

The bathroom was quite small, even by European standards. The location is great for access to restaurants and things to do in Porto, but the trade-off is the noise. It got a bit loud at night.

This small hotel can easily be missed as the name of the hotel is just at the wall of the entrance. No fancy names anywhere. But there's a restaurant under the hotel named "Bulha Sta. Catarina" to which you'd know you're at the right spot already. We were located on the 1st floor so it was just a short climb to the stairs otherwise it can be challenging. The place is gorgeous. We enjoyed our two-bedroom unit. We had enough space for our luggage and there was a Nespresso machine in one of the rooms. The bathroom was adequate, with enough space, and has everything you'll need. The breakfast was simple yet feeling. The pantry was across our room, and you were allowed to have coffee or tea anytime you'd like. Breakfast spreads include cereals, bread, cheese, some cold cuts, and yogurt. The staff was very nice and they allowed us to leave our luggage after check out. The location is conveniently located near Bolhao metro and the surroundings of Bolhao for quick shopping. I'd stay here again!

The host could have sent the passcode for the doorbox ahead of time instead we had to call him up because we checked in past 4pm. Had he given us the code it would have been a perfect stay overall.

The breakfast was well presented with a variety of breads, cheeses, meats and cereals. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Long flight of stairs to reception and room with no lift.

Communication with property before check in was great. Driver picked us up at the airport and he gave us a little tour on the way (which we loved). Room was super cute, comfortable and clean.

Our only complain is that breakfast was not served before our tour start time which should be something to consider when welcoming tourists.

The breakfast was adequate, but not as good as other properties we stayed at in Portugal.

I loved the lounge/kitchen area. As my husband was taking an afternoon nap, I had to catch up on some work, so this area was a welcome surprise.. 🙏🏻 ..and fantastic location.

I did not expect all the stairs. !!! we are on a month vacation, so heavy luggage was a problem. But we managed, lovely old lady tried to carry our huge bags.. x very friendly..

The door to the bathroom did not close properly, that was anoying. It is also rather badly isolated which made it cold inside. Also the noise from outside can be heard well. Might be worse in the summer. No elevator.

Great location and the breakfast area was great place to meet and chat with other guests.

The stairs to the top rooms (Rooms 5 and 6) are very steep

Breakfast was good, with lots of choices. Claudia was wonderful. All the staff were great. Location was excellent.

We were looking for accommodation with two rooms, where there are full-size beds, not just a sofa bed. The accommodation met our expectations. Communication with the staff was excellent, everyone was nice and helpful. The house is on the main shopping street Rua Catarina, so there is a busy nightlife. Close to the metro stop, walking distance to the center, sufficient and tasty breakfast. The furnishings of the rooms have an art deco style and suit the city of Porto.

Property has no elevator (not previously informed). Noisy floors and towels were not changed when requested.

The building is stylish and beautiful with amazing high ceilings, tasteful decoration, fantastic furniture, very clean, comfortable beds, friendly and helpful staff, plentiful breakfast, and rated 11 out of 10 as an absolute gem.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

The location is perfect, very central and on the same street as Chapel of Souls. The place was a bit tricky to find at first but not a big issue. The rooms are spacious and very nice.

Breakfast left for more to ask. By far the worst we had during our stay in Portugal. There isn't any big issues with the quality, yoghurt was quite bad but mainly the lack of options, I feel like children would appreciate the choices. Basically cheese and ham sandwhiches, coffee and some fruit and one type of pastery.
