Check in was great, breakfast with fresh fruits, perfection location to attractions, room was very cosy. All in all, its a great place and also recommended by Rick Steve. Staff was friendly and helpful. Will stay again for longer duration.

Fantastic location. Breakfast in bed was fabulous! We got upgraded to a river view room with amazing views of the Douro river. Luis was a great host!

Ideally situated facing the Douro inside the historical center of the city, this exclusive b&b is full of charm. I particularly appreciated the smooth checkin despite my late reservation. I was brought to my room at the top of the building with a personal touch which made me feel at home immediately. The morning was no less pleasant with personal attention that is obviously the signature of this charming hotel.

From the moment we arrived until we departed both Luis and Connie were extremely helpful in giving directions and recommendations for where to eat and what to see. The location was perfect for exploring both Porto’s historic center and across the Douro. Breakfasts were an event with wonderful fruits, breads, cheese, ham, and great coffee.

We were on the second floor city side where it can be a little noisy.

A beautiful, conveniently located guest house overlooking the river. The staff were amazing - they were kind and attentive throughout our stay, nothing was too much trouble. 100% recommended.

This small property was right on the river front in the old unesco heritage area. Staff were incredible, rooms were spotless, beds very comfortable and the breakfasts amazing. Great coffee! Lots of restaurants within walking distance and all of Porto within walking distance. Ask staff for advice on things to do- they are SO helpful.

Amazing location for visiting Porto. Very close to river and easy access to walking across the bridge to visit Gaia and enjoy the port wine tastings. Lots of easy access to restaurants and excellent breakfast. Staff was delightful and offered several excellent recommendations for restaurants and a "map of the city" with more recommendations for sights and the best times to enjoy them.

Location is fantastic right in the heart of the Ribeira. Staff are the true gem, very friendly and helpful and a joy to interact with. The room was well-designed and comfortable.

Rooms are small, but had everything and bed was very comfortable.

The breakfast centerpiece was an artful arrangement of many kinds of fruits. Meats and cheeses as well as a basket of rolls rounded out the offerings. Juice, coffee, tea, and cocoa available. The staff are the key to the success of this guesthouse. Luis, a real charmer, Louisa, and Connie were simply the nicest hosts ever. It was as if we were guests in their home. About a 15 minute walk to San Bento train station (uphill from the river, not for the faint of heart if walking.). Only 2 rooms per floor with an elevator. One minute from the river.

Only suggestion would be to add yogurt to breakfast.

Breakfast was fresh fruit, pastry, meats and cheese-delicious! Every floor had Portugal guide books. English was good, they spent lots of time going over directions and recommendations on great things to do in Porto.

Central location wonderful staff and fabulous breakfast

Bed slightly firm for me

The staff Is young and so enthusiastic and helpful whether it's recommending restaurants, making reservations, calling for taxis, etc. We were greeted with smiles and offers of help every time we went out or came back in. It was fun to be around the staff during breakfast too when we were served such a nice variety of food. It really did feel like a "guest house" with the hosts giving us so much attention and care in every way. Our room was a bit small, but the incredible river views from every window more than compensated. Our walk to the riverfront was only a minute or two, and we did really enjoy the restaurants and boat rides that were so close by. Porto is a wonderful city, and we will definitely stay at Guest House Douro the next time we visit.

The staff was superb! Really friendly, funny and attentive. The breakfast fruit was fantastic. The location was perfect.

Fabulous location with an amazing view, staffed by people who go out of their way to make your stay a success.

Nothing we didn’t like, but people should know that some rooms are quite small (fine by us), and there’s some noise from the partying tourists on the riverbank (we brought earplugs, so it wasn’t a problem).
