The building is beautifully renovated, and the setting is truly stunning and peaceful. Breakfast was also very good, with plenty of fresh options. The staff were warm, friendly and always willing to help – though at times a bit inexperienced and hesitant, and we never really felt there was a clear manager in charge. A few practical details could be improved: there’s no shower by the pool, loud noises started every morning at 7 a.m., and the pool paint is peeling. For a hotel of this level, the sun loungers would also benefit from proper cushions for extra comfort.

A surprising oasis in the middle of a concrete city. Tranquil and well maintained the hotel gives a peaceful, quiet feel to the bustle of the surrounding city.

To be very picky, the service for meals was slightly slow and because the hotel is new and only accommodates a small number of guest, it lacks atmosphere. But for a quiet get away it is perfect.

The hotel is a stunning building with beautiful architectural features . It is a little oasis in the busy city and well located to walk to most of the top tourist destinations. All of the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The best I've ever come across. They made excellent restaurant recommendations. The pool and facilities are superb. Excellent spa and massage treatments . The homemade lemonade is the best ever and perfect for the hot weather. The fine dining taster menu and wine pairing were sublime and a perfect birthday celebration. Overall, this hotel stay was perfect.

- Palacete Severo exceeded our expectations in every way! The building was absolutely stunning! It is an older building that they renovated and turned into a hotel and all that I can say is WOW. Every inch of the building was beautifully designed and well thought out. The pool area was gorgeous and peaceful. The pool was even heated which was really nice being that it was a particularly chilly and windy evening when we went. Also, the breakfast was absolutely delicious with a spread of anything and everything you could possibly want. Though the building was amazing, what really made this trip so memorable were the people. The staff were the most kind, welcoming, and helpful people. From the moment we stepped out of our taxi, Duarte, (apologies if my spelling is incorrect) was outside to greet us and help us with our luggage. Once we made it inside, the hostess, Josefina, gave us the most warm welcome and got us set up in our room. Not only was she super welcoming, but also very helpful with making our stay as smooth as possible. We asked for a few restaurant recommendations and her and another staff member, Helder, put together a handwritten list of all of their favorite spots for us! Helder was always there to answer any questions we had and was lovely to talk to. He gave us so many recommendations that turned out to be amazing experiences! We wanted to have a drink by the pool, so we went to the bar within the hotel and the bartender came up with the most amazing cocktail recipes for us based on our preferences. He even hand delivered them to us by the pool. We felt so blessed to be in the accompaniment of so many kind people. Thank you to everyone who made this such an amazing experience.

A very charming hotel, with adorable staff who go the extra mile to help you. An outdoor pool in lovely gardens, perfect for an apéritif from a well stocked bar. Comfortable rooms with good en suite bathroom.

The location was a little further from the centre than I had imagined. Still only 25 mins walk from the centre, but uphill on the way back (ubers and taxis are easy to find, though). On the flipside, it's very calm and quiet as a result

We booked by chance our stay at Palacete Severn and we are extremely happy we did. We were celebrating my fiancé’s birthday and the whole team was extremely helpful in preparing a surprise and so extremely welcoming and warm. The best hotel stay I’ve had so far. Thank you so much for the wonderful hospitality. We look forward to visiting again.

Practically everything, from the first second we felt that we came to the right place: the location, the property, the staff, the food… simply superb!

One of the best hotels we’ve stayed in. Staff are all just brilliant and helpful. Fantastic heated outdoor pool and wonderful Spa. Food for breakfast and dinner in the bistro is exceptional. The rooms and bedding are of the highest quality. We really appreciated the quality of the fabrics from pillows and bedding to gowns. The property itself is really interesting complete with stained glass windows.

Ambiance, spa facilities and location away from the most touristy parts of Porto. The property is recently renovated and the staff is friendly.

Pool was not heated during our stay so couldn't use it. Some of the spa facilities such as the salt room didn't seem to work. This was one of the most expensive properties to stay in Porto during our stay however I found the breakfast selection poor value for money in terms of quantity and quality. Staff need a little more training on how to deal with unexpected circumstances.

Staff amazing from reception to Bar (Gabriel). Attention to detail throughout the hotel excellent. Food fantastic and everyone above and beyond to ensure you are enjoying yourself.

It is not in the tourist area but you can walk 1.5 km to it. The accommodation is excellent, everything is new. The staff is excellent. The breakfast is very good.

1)Air conditioning is a problem throughout Europe and here it was no different. 2)16ºC felt hot. The room I stayed in required always climbing a 24-step staircase. I and my wife are 67 and I believe that few people of my age would be able to go up and down many times, with a great of risk of accident- the steps are short. Price of 2 cans of coke zero in the room are €22, it is crazy.

The Hotel has beautiful decor, the staff offer outstanding service and it is a quiet paradise within walking distance of the centre of Porto. The hotel offered a great breakfast and the bistro is excellent. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

You get the most genuine welcome. Every member of staff is welcoming, professional and helpful. It is a haven in Porto. The Spa was wonderful. The food was delicious. Delightfully not a corporate or chain brand. This was a short stay but the next one will be longer!

Honestly, that I wasn't able to have a longer stay in this peaceful environment.

This is truly an excellent new five-star hotel. It offers wonderful service and a magnificent staff, along with excellent new rooms. The hotel was launched less than a year ago in a newly restored building. There are gorgeous à la carte breakfasts and an excellent dinner restaurant on-site. It is, of course, quite expensive, but it’s worth it.

Palacete Severo is simply enchanting—a haven where guests are not only welcomed the moment they enter the gates but embraced each day like long-lost family. The staff’s attentiveness is a symphony of care, each interaction harmonizing to create a melody of warmth and hospitality. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I felt like a cherished guest at a welcoming home. The manager, as well as each staff member, took the time to personally introduce themselves to me, artfully selecting unobtrusive moments for our interaction. They anticipate needs as though reading minds, ensuring that every detail, no matter how small, is tended to with genuine care. Always there when you need them but never imposing. Never missing an opportunity to do the most, you could see their smiles light the room like sunshine each time they observed how their service brought joy to their guests. The room was impeccably appointed, with the art, architecture and woodwork immersing you in quality luxury. Views from the room were delightful. A comfortable sanctuary for creating, resting, or relaxing. The thoughtfulness that was shown to me made me feel truly seen, valued, and cared for. I never expected this level of warmth and attention to detail and as I left there were hugs all around and the kindest parting gifts to accompany me home - some tea leaves from my favorite morning tea at the Palacete Severo and a rose freshly cut from within the gorgeous gardens. At Palacete Severo, service transcends expectation—this is not just a hotel; it’s a second home, lovingly curated to cradle its guests in comfort, art, peace, and serenity.

Palacete Severo We were so lucky to find this awsome place in Porto! Only open for a few weeks before we arrived, the hotel and it‘s staff showed hospitality in the best meaning of the word. The house looks like a former manor house and has been really beautifully restored with all the important details to keep it‘s history but nevertheless transform into modern times with all the amenities one would like to have. All the staff was very handsome and attentive, we felt very welcome and cared for. Breakfast is served at the table to your wishes from a really big variety of choices in the cosy restaurant where also dinner takes place. Dinner was a delightful experience as well, although we did not make a reservation at the Michelin-restaurant, which is also available at the hotel, we enjoyed an amazing dinner! In short: we had an extraordinary experience and will definitely come back as soon as we enter Porto again!
