Woodlark Hotel, Portland

Great restaurant, friendly reception.

Booked a room with city view and got a view of a shaft. No desk in a King Room, so not recommended for biz traveler.

Very disappointing stay We were very disappointed with our stay. The room was much smaller than it looked in the photos, and there was no city view — just a wall outside the window. We had booked a room with breakfast included, but when we arrived, they told us we had to pay extra for breakfast, which was unfair. On top of that, the front desk staff were unfriendly and unhelpful, which made the experience even worse. Overall, it did not match the description on Booking, and we would not stay here again.

The property was aesthetically so beautiful. The decor, the bathroom fixtures, everything was perfect. The staff was friendly and very helpful.

Shower in the room had issues with water pooling instead of draining. Walls/floors are very thin and could hear upstairs guests walking around all night.

They don't have the tap option for credit cards, i mean, it's 2025!!! Also, the City view was a scam, i was facing a wall :/ i didn't say anything because at that point I was already pretty mad. Also, you need to register at the hotel website to get wi-fi??? Horrible

Added price stuff with minimal response as to why- just presented as a given,(30$ daily fee for?) Small room, clearly the worst of the worst, prime price paid in cash. Have stayed in much better places (embassy suites, etc.) for much less. Outside window is a wall, actually a walled up wall. I have to believe we were given the worst room in the hotel. Almost seems vindictive. No closet, minimal storage, tiny bathroom with smallish shower. Pictures speak for themselves. It's a tiny room, honestly, a closet of a room. Much, much better deals, I was fooled by the superficial reviews online Not happy. Service matter of fact with emphasis on making additional sales. Again, not happy. Great location, bed seems great. Has small fridge. TV has adjustable back. No coffee in room, they charge for coffee in lobby. It's pretty good coffee.

The main floor layout is very cozy and inviting. I like that they have the restaurant, coffee shop, and bar in the building so you can choose to stay in the comfort of your hotel and still be sociable and have a nice time. The Decor is also nice. I also liked that they locked the entrance doors of the hotel from the outside after a certain time, made me feel safer.

The room size is pretty compact which I wasn’t the biggest fan of but decided to appreciate it for its cozy size. The option of a closet would also be nice and they didn’t have an iron but they did have a steamer, I like to have an iron it’s quick and no fuss.

We loved the whole vibe of the hotel, the close proximity to everything and the room was a very comfortable place to hang out. The cafe downstairs is really nice as well.

This was rectified but we were charged 2x for the room (and the second time was actually substantially more than we paid the first time). I informed the girl checking us in I had already paid in full and she brushed me off telling me I was paying tax’s and resort fees and ($2,000 worth). I went down the next day to get clarification and an itemized receipt and when I saw I was being charged for the room again she kinda brushed me off and told me I hadn’t actually paid, but that my card was just being used to hold the room. But that wasn’t the case, I had paid in full months previous. I then asked to speak to a manager and was told “you are here for a week, someone will call you” but I wasn’t really comfortable being out $2k when I was on vacation. The next day I was able to speak to Juliette the front desk supervisor and she saw my payment hadn’t integrated to their system but I had in fact paid. I was then charged the correct amount of $240 for the resort fees and early check in fee. I wish the girl who helped me the first day had taken my concerns more seriously.

I love the boutique styling of Woodlark. The restaurants are great. We loved our room.

The only thing I would suggest is to put a small bench or seat in the room that can be moved where needed. There is a very low make up mirror in the bathroom that was hard to use. It would have been better to have a small benched to accompany it. I thought the little bench/seat could be in the far corner of the room.

Stylish boutique hotel in a great location. Comfortable bed with luxury linens and fluffy pillows. Great mix of vintage and modern design. Friendly staff and a great price point. This is our second stay at the Woodlark and we would stay again when we return to Portland.

The towels were meh. Too small and not fluffy at all, was disappointed with quality and number provided. Water pressure in the shower was not great. Parking was pricey, and they charged us more for the couple hours after we checked out but we’re dining and shopping nearby before our departure.

The room itself was cozy and pretty small, but what I expected so no worries. The AC worked great / beds were comfortable. We had a bit of a longer night out in Portland so I passed out instantly and slept comfortably the whole night. There was a minor issue with valet parking charging me for two nights instead of one but they fixed it instantly and without any problems. The folks at the front desk, lobby and valet were the primary reason I'd like to return! Thank you so much!

The parking situation around the hotel was a bit of a struggle for me. I opted for valet to make our lives a little more simple but it was an extra expense (so just something to look out for, it was $55). I think the only other issue was having to look around the room to find wall outlets for our devices (they were pretty hidden behind appliances). Very minor issues in an otherwise wonderful stay.

Good convenient location. Felt safe. The room was clean with a large and spacious shower. Ac worked well and was great. Complimentary canned water was great.

Fantastic hotel in the heart of Portland. The common areas of bar / lounge are very smart and immediately relaxing as you enter the hotel. The rooms are thoughtfully laid out with smart decor. We had a very comfortable and relaxing stay here.

Very nicely renovated, very clean. Front desk personnel were friendly and accomodating. I left before 5 am. The front desk had made a pot of coffee for another guest who was also leaving early. So I had a cup of coffee upon checkout. Very nice.

Facility fee of about $30 added to room charge per night for internet and gym. It would have been more transparent and in line with other hotels if the internet and gym were included in the room rate; even if you raised the room rate. Coffee is usually provided in the room or the lobby. Coffee was provided in the lobby from 5-7 am then you must purchase coffee in the cafe. Suggest providing coffee in room so as to not conflict with the cafe and to provide this typical amenity.

Beautifully designed and clean space, conveniently located, great amenities, fabulous food and coffee options, inviting lobby/common areas, polite and friendly staff, etc.. I also greatly appreciated the black-out curtains.

There was nothing I disliked. I didn’t really understand the need of having a phone in the room, especially since there was no directory or room services that I was aware of. It also didn’t align with the design.

Best front desk staff, loved the coffee shop in the lobby & living room area. Have stayed at many hotels in Portland & this is the best. Will be returning!

The location and the STAFF was amazing!

The room location was horrible the fact that it was my first time to Portland I was bummed to not have a good view my view was to a brick wall I expected the room to be a little bigger per the photos.

Your staff from the valet parking, receptionist and restaurants were exceptional and took amazing care of us and our animal, they even put a dog bowl and dog bed in the room at no charge. The location was perfect to get around the area and there was so much to see and walk to from the hotel. The interior design was warm and comfortable and modern as well, I liked the wall to ceiling windows in the room, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was stunning.

The window shade pulls to open and close were way behind the one bed and hard to pull on to get the curtains to move. The windows could be more sound proof, we woke up at 2:25 when the garbage truck came to collect the garbage in the area.

This hotel sits in the heart of downtown, with a modern vibe and nice, friendly staff. Our studio suite also came with coffee delivery in the mornings, which was very thoughtful and much-appreciated. The bed was comfy, love the color scheme of the room. Nice lobby downstairs, and a chic bar onsite.

The shower was strangely constructed, such that the shower head was positioned directly above the door, which opened at an odd angle, making for a messy in-and-out experience.

Comfortable, attractive lounge areas. Bullard Tavern restaurant was excellent. Staff was warm and friendly, and very helpful.

Room was quite cramped and lacked a closet. Room phone did not work, and lacked chargers for devices. In house staff tried to fix the phone but was unsuccessful. By contrast the bathroom was quite large and well stocked with toiletries. The lighting was yellowish and made shaving or applying makeup difficult.

Everything about the hotel was great! Its hospitality and beautiful rooms are incomparable!

Although its location was great, it was noisy at night. Some people were talking loud for a long time around ,2am and the construction started around 6am. We could not sleep well.

The hotel decor is beautiful, and the staff were great. The room was comfortable and had incredibly high ceilings. Excellent shower. We liked the coffee shop in the lobby, and the restaurant and bar as well. They really came in handy since we didn’t want to leave the hotel.

The property itself is beautiful. The room was very stylish but lacked a chair, a desk, or anywhere to put a suitcase. Downtown Portland is overrun with people using drugs in public and sleeping on the street, so we went to the zoo and then stayed in the hotel the rest of the time.

The Woodlark is the hotel of choice for me when traveling for business to Portland. I am in the City a couple of times each month. The interior is beautiful, the staff so friendly and accommodating, and the bed divine. They continue to make amenity enhancements the make each stay even better. Champagne or wine upon arrival. The coffee delivered to your door at the time you request. Good Coffee and their pastries are simply fabulous.

Bullard, the restaurant has changed the menu and took off two of my favorite items. The Beet Salad and the Pavlova dessert. Bring them back...... :-) Seriously, I can't think of anything I don't like about The Woodlark. Great location. Awesome staff. Wonderful rooms.

Valet parking at $50 plus tip (because that’s the right thing to do) and a mandatory technology fee (for what? Staff didn’t know) is an excessive additional expense.

Bridgett at the front desk is awesome ! She is so kind and helpful, gave us great restaurant recommendations and information about the area to make our stay magical.

That we had to leave !!!!
