The Heathman Hotel, Portland

Staff were lovely and the room was fabulous. Huge room with great AC, spacious bathroom and huge comfy bed. Nice bars and restaurants around.

The Valet is $65 a night which when you're already paying so much for a room seems extremely steep. I wouldn't stay again if we're driving but without a vehicle it's worth it.

The location was greats and staff was friendly.

I wish the restaurant/bar was ooen longer.

Greasy - I had the corned beef hash and the brisket beef was gristly. The potatoes and seasonal veg sautéed in too much oil for my personal taste.

Nice and quite a big room. Good shower. The staff was friendly and helpful. Reasonably good location within walking distance to the train station.

The door of the bathroom couldn't close properly. Our room seemed to be a bedroom connected to another living room (?) which was a bit weird - we locked the connecting door so no biggie.

The Heathman is close to the metro line that goes to the airport. I was celebrating my wedding and the hotel gave us an upgrade to an awesome room with a beautiful view.

I liked the unlimited free bike rental, so useful during my trip! All employees were so friendly and great. I enjoyed having an electric kettle in the room.

The formal breakfast was oriented for more leisure than I needed for a business trip. I had been excited about the in-room french press but honestly the facilities in the room made it difficult to use: how to clean, etc.

Beautiful hotel in downtown Portland. Each room has tons of character and the beds very comfortable (on the firm side, not soft). Asked for an extra comforter when I made the reservation, and it was waiting in the room when we arrived. Staff are very attentive, and THEY PAY ATTENTION TO THE DETAILS! Check out time is 12pm, which is nice because it gives you time to explore the city a little longer if you like. Breakfast was great at hotel restaurant. Hotel allowed us to keep our bags at the hotel during the day after we checked out while we explored Portland before our train left. We will definitely stay here again. DO NOT HESITATE TO STAY HERE!

Water pressure was low, but was not a deal breaker. We traveled on a Tuesday night and restaurant/bar was closed (closes at 9pm on Monday/Tuesday)by the time we arrived, so no room service after a long day of travel so that sucked.

We were looking for a well-priced, dog friendly hotel in downtown Portland although we don't usually travel with our dog. The Heathman exceeded our expectations. The reception staff were very caring about our dog's comfort and immediately suggested a water bowl for her. Our room was spacious and well-appointed, with a fresh coffee press and a very comfortable bed. There is a wonderfully inviting, lounge area with books that one can borrow and would actually like read, as well as board and card games for all ages and interests and comfortable club chairs and tables. A very inviting space. The location is fantastic, close to theaters and the concert hall and within walking distance of excellent restaurants and coffeshops. The restauarant is excellent both for dinner and breakfast. Better yet, there is a park within a block where we could walk the dog.

Lack of view / indirect sunlight in my room, loud a/c, resto / room service seemed to always be closed / unavailable, crappy std cable tv with no casting options (ended up setting up my own Roku tv stick)

Beautiful boutique hotel. Cathryn and her staff went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. While small the room was comfortable. We enjoyed walks in the downtown area and always felt safe. We enjoyed Portland coffee in the beautiful library each morning.

The hotel restaurant was very good but we would have appreciated more menu items.

Poor restaurant staff were too overworked. We left without ordering. Stayed here years ago, and it was posh. Now, the staff are doing their best, but corners seem cut.

The bathroom in our King Size room was a weird L shape configuration; difficult to maneuver, but still a lovely experience.

Location, clean comfortable rooms. Not much street noise on the 10th floor. The library was nice to hang out in.

Loud HVAC rumbling all night, extra resort fees $29/night, expensive valet parking $55/night that was horribly backed up when we arrived. The fridge didn't have a freezer and was those minimal ones that just hold a row of drinks.

The pris fixe dinner was only average. And then when we got back from the theater the Tavern was closed and we missed our desserts and a drink.

Loved the location! We were walking distance to lots of restaurants and bars. Our room was spacious and having a separate living room area from the bedroom was really nice so we could spread out a bit and it felt more "homey" versus just a hotel room with a bed. The staff was wonderful and friendly and we enjoyed ordering cocktails from the bar and sitting in the library at the end of the night before heading up to our room to relax.

The only improvement I'd suggest is to have drinks available for purchase. We wanted a bottle of water and they didn't have any to purchase (cold or room temp) and the nearest convenience store was a bit of a walk.

Hospitality team was 10/10! Everyone we interacted with was fantastic. Bed was comfy, room was clean, zero issues staying here. Food at The Tavern was so good! Loved that the Azar chocolatier was attached to the hotel. We were there almost daily!

Great location! Beautiful library and coffee area. The artwork on the walls was beautiful and I loved how local artists are supported.

Our bathroom was a little tight with minimal room to move around. However it was clean and well appointed!

Clean rooms, helpful staff, and great location in the Cultural District of Portland. The Heathman is perfect for Oregon Symphony concerts at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall and Portland's Farmers Market during the summer months. Great restaurants surround the hotel to include the Sesame Collection of unique restaurants and fine dining. The Heathman has become our stay vacation spot in Portland.
