Alexander Inn Hotel, Philadelphia

Very good location, friendly staff, clean room with a safe to store valuables, reliable wifi.

The hotel is quite dated and it shows. Breakfast was basic and the breakfast room wasn’t big enough to sit everyone.

Location: The hotel is only a 20 minute walk away from the old city and 15 minutes from center city. It was a peaceful neighborhood where I felt safe during the day and the early evening. Staff: The staff was really friendly. Room: The room was spacious, clean and comfortable.

Breakfast itself was okay, but there are very few tables to sit at.

Lovely characterful hotel in a great location. Nice rooms and public areas. Continental breakfast included, and a nice cheese & wine social in the evening. Great staff. Very quiet for a city hotel!

The location was great if you want to stroll major areas and be walking distance to bars in the Gayborhood and surrounding areas.

The shower on the 7th floor overflows into bathroom floor. Not great but nothing too terrible.

Really well located with easy access to all the key sites either on foot or by bus. Staff on reception were really friendly and helpful Breakfast was better than we expected and filled us up for the day Evening soirée was a nice surprise

The double bed in our room was smaller than a double bed in the UK The hallways were very hot but being an older building they cannot fit A/C

Kind of old, not very accessible with a stroller. Parking is super expensive and the crib was falling apart.

It was so quiet, in a great location, with an awesome breakfast and a very comfy bed.

It would be nice to have a mini fridge.

I love the Alexander Inn and have stayed there several times over the past several years. It's my go-to place in Philly. I love the art deco style, the gorgeous furniture, the location, and the nice staff. Breakfast is also a welcome treat - basic but plentiful. I had a room on the 7th floor and loved the quiet and the view.

The pillows need replacing, but that's pretty minor compared to how great the place is otherwise.

The breakfast was ok. In the past they had fresh fruit, jelly and assorted danishes but not this year. But the hard boiled eggs were peeled!!!!

The rooms were beautiful but very small and the double bed was small but very clean and neat.

I would describe the property as quaint! It is older, but very well cared for. It reminds me of some older hotels I stayed in when I visited Europe. There is a very nice continental breakfast and certain days of the week they have a wine and cheese gathering in the late afternoon. Very nice!

This is an historic property in the midst of Philadelphia's gayborhood. It's close and walking distance to most of the best sights in Philadelphia. The hotel itself retains a lot of charm and is well-appointed in the rooms. The parking garage is two blocks away, so not too much of a hike. The staff was cordial and welcoming.

Extremely friendly staff (everyone in this hotel!). Rooms had this nice old-style touch that we enjoyed. The bathroom was small but had everything we needed. The location is excellent.

The breakfast could be better but was fine. A small fridge in the room would be an asset. But overall, everything was really good.

I am familiar with the Alexander Inn from past visits and considered it my Philly home those times. It is unpretentious and comfortable and the location is perfect. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I had to leave early for the airport and the night desk arranged a cab for me.

I stayed at the Alex Inn several times during early regular trips to Philadelphia. This was the first time in many years I have stayed since the hotel was booked during the times I was there since those earlier times. The entrance and lobby area are pretty much as I remembered, but the reception area was stripped of any warmth and feeling of welcome that was so much part of the check-in and interaction with the staff those previous times. Come on, put some art and color and a plant or two in the check-in/reception area! Make it say Welcome! All bare white walls with no soul? It has lost its gay charm from previous days. That said, it a good place to stay when visiting Philadelphia,
