Make the shower curtain a little longer - water escapes.

It's tucked away on a side street. When you walk in the door, you feel like you have entered a cocoon of beauty. Exotic, a bit hedonistic, sumptuous but understated - no glaring chartreuse or huge photographs staring you down, and not the typical lobby feel! The staff, especially LouisLuis, were welcoming and helpful and made me feel like a welcome guest. You are not just another client at the hotel; it's thoughtful and deliberate hospitality. Everyone was wonderful, except this time, the bar staff was racing around, and I waited for over 20 minutes to order a drink. After I waived my arms like I was trying to land an aircraft to get someone's attention, I did, but the man admonished me, telling me they would be coming, but they were busy. It was weirdly rude and a sad choice. I waited longer, but to the credit of the front desk, they listened to my comments and apologized. I felt understood by them, which made up for the dismissive barman. Overall, I look forward to coming back again.

Less running around and a more efficient but calm bar is needed which sets the tone for the hotel as it is central to the entrance. Be welcoming, not agitated, mean, and flustered as it would take less time to take my request for a kir than admonish me, and it would be more positive and done.

Lacking luxury and modern amenities & facilities for a 5-srar hotel

We went to L'hotel to celebrate my husband's 80th Birthday & right from the start it exceeded our expectations. The staff were excellent, very welcoming & helpful. We had a suite at the top of the hotel which was absolutely amazing. We had breakfast & that was excellent too. There was plenty of choice & also a hot alternative as well. So my husband had a fantastic Birthday

Beautiful and interesting interior with history. Small intimate place. Excellent location. Charming staff.

The decorations especially the fabrics in the public rooms were a bit worn and tired.

Very atmospheric hotel, as a fan of history I loved the style, which made us feel like stepping back in the past. We had a large comfortable room, with great big bed, bathtub and large walk in shower. Cleanliness & facilities were top. Nice quiet location. Very nice Wildes bar, we enjoyed live jazz and the cocktail on Thursday evening.

Most disappointing were the breakfast - no hot food options in the buffet at all, also very small selection of savoury food at all. No vegetables. If you like something a bit stronger than cereal & pastry in the morning, you will be disappointed. No TV in the room. We asked in the reception and they promised to deliver TV for us, but this did not happen during our stay.

The hotel was beautifully presented, everything was spotlessly clean. The staff very very attentive and helpful. The hotel is in an excellent location to easily walk to numerous art galleries and restaurants. The history of the hotel is incredible.

The bedroom decoration was a little tired but the art deco style was still stylish and unique.

We loved everything. The atmosphere, the service, the location.

Great welcome once we arrived from receptionist Anna and manager Antonia who upgraded us to a beautiful suite. Fab character throughout the hotel and class cosy bar area and little outdoor courtyard for chilling. Breakfast was great where Ismat was extremely friendly and attentive. Thanks to all the other staff for a great stay.

Outside of breakfast dining options are limited but plenty cafes and restaurants close by.

A little warm, AC not efficient and the tub/shower combo didn't work very well and not enough hot water.

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel, and it was again a great experience. I highly recommend the hotel for value, location, and a great staff.

Lovely boutique hotel in a great location with very friendly & hospitable staff.

The staff are very polite and helpful. The room we stayed in on the fourth floor was large, light filled and beautifully furnished and , by the standards of international cities,reasonably priced. The location is perfect for the Louvre and a stroll to Notre Dame and is surrounded by quality restaurants. The hotel has an excellent bar and sitting area which stays open late. Overall, an exceptional experience.

This is a fabulous, quirky, eccentric, atmospheric boutique hotel with a distinctive Parisian Feel. The rooms take you back to the early 1900's but do have all the facilities of a modern hotel. If you want a real taste and feel of Paris then I would recommend this hotel. The staff were fantastic and extremely helpful and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble.Perfect for a romantic getaway, in a great location, walking distance to The Louvre and Notre Dam.

There was no air conditioning but they did provide 2 x fans in our room which did the job. The bathroom was small but very elaborate, however the water from the shower did cover the bathroom floor as the shower curtain was not long enough.

The staff were fantastic and more than accommodating. The rooms were well decorated and in good condition, however have to be expected to be on the small side since it is Paris. The area was beautiful with good public transport connections.

The room had a fridge and a safe, however the fridge didn't make anything cold, so you couldn't keep cold bottles of water in your room or anything. Since the building was so old you could hear pipe noises and sometimes doors slamming, but it wasn't anything that bothered us.

Unfortunately the lift was out of service for the duration of our stay. We were given prior notice of this temporary issue. We were obliged to move rooms for one night due to a ‘technical’ issue. The hotel made compensation for this inconvenience.

I always stay there. convenient location and nice rooms.

the aircon was broken in my room and in the middle of the night I had to switch rooms. however they refunded some payment for my night stay owing to inconvenience caused. they did this swiftly. I didn’t have to chase.

Everything, such an amazing hotel right in the heart of Paris and very close to the Lourve. Make sure to try out the signature cocktails.

It was a lovely traditional hotel.

You had unfortunately suffered a water leak and so no hot water available, but you made a generous deduction from the bill and a cold shower in summer is not always a bad thing.

To quote Oscar Wilde: One should either be a work of art or wear a work of art. This unique hotel is a work of art. The ambiance is a work of art. The guests are a work of art. The staff's kindness is a work of art. The ensuite menu is a work of art.

There is rather a dilemma: if you're into unpersonal contemporary 5 star hotels, give this one a pass. But if you're a romantic and into the ambiance and the grandeur of works like The Picture of Dorian Gray and Death in Venice then this is definately a must do, even if for the exquisite bar with wonderful cocktails.

The decor is amazing and from the moment we arrived to the time we left the staff made us feel like old and values guests. IN addition the Hamman pool in the basement was an unexpected treasure I would recommend 30 minutes in it to wash away any stress from a long and adventurous day exploring Paris

This was our second stay at L’Hotel. The Oscar Wilde connection and sumptuous interior means it probably won’t be our last.

What a fabulous hotel. The Oscar Wilde link fascinating. Small and bijoux and luxurious. A wonderful, quiet room and a very peaceful location. Very attentive, smiley staff. All the reception staff were so lovely and helpful and along with the bar staff just delightful. Drinks served late too which is a plus. Breakfast had everything you wanted.So many pastries too! Loved the incredible attention to detail in our room; wonderful Chinese inspired decor. Our friends room was art deco and again lovely. Great big towels a real plus, literally masses of gorgeous body wash, shampoo etc etc. It all made a truly great stay and we would most definitely chose to stay here again and recommend it.

Air con could be cooler. Shower is small but it has an amazing powerful shower and frankly was perfect, bathroom itself is great with windows and light. (Staff/manager chap on your computer in the comfy lounge sitting area - be a bit more customer facing friendly if working in that space. You were noticeably hot & bothered, up and down. Helpful, yes, but lacking charm.

fantastic hotel offering a very high level of service. room are definitely shabby chic. bedroom we had was very comfortable, the bathroom was clean with a bath and a shower over the bath. breakfast catered for all tastes with a buffet that was included in our room rate plus the option of al a carte if you want hot food position was excellent for all Paris attractions with excellent local eating options

A small room for a 6 night stay.

The staff at this hotel went above and beyond every chance they could. They even helped us find tickets when the Louvre and L'Orangerie were sold out. Plus, we have to comment on the breakfast as it was truly exceptional. We also loved the fresh flowers everywhere. We booked the private sauna and pool two nights because it was so unique and special - we highly recommend you make the time to enjoy this jewel.

The rooms and hotel are a bit dated, definitely old Paris vibes. The reception area could use a refresh as the first impression to the hotel wasn't as good as it could be, however the staffs' friendly smiles and warm service make up for this.

L’Hotel is a slice of luxury in one of the best districts in Paris, the Saint Germain. Friendly staff, quiet, beautiful room, and an exceptional spa in a cave on the bottom floor. We can’t wait to go back again

A true bohemian boutique hotel centrally located on the Left Bank. Nothing fake here, it's the real deal. Sure, some of the rooms are small & no TV or phone but I kind of liked that. Not silent but quiet enough for a good nights sleep. I cannot fault the staff: Courteous & helpful yet discrete. Full of history & character. Not cheap but where in central Paris is? The pool & hammam spar are a real treat after a long day exploring the city. Sure I'll consider staying here again should I be heading to Paris in the future.
