Lord Elgin Hotel, Ottawa

Good location, walking distance to most of the central venues.

This hotel has seen its best days, the finish on a lot of the funiture, carpets and inventories have stains or marks. It is not that is it brooken.

Lovely hotel in great location with friendly staff

I always passed by this gorgeous hotel and was curious of living in. So this time I reserve it. Service is great, room is clean and neat.

No bottles of water, the window doesn’t isolate the noise very well.

The pool area was fabulous. Location can’t be beat.

Location, spacious room, comfortable bed, easy to use shower, clean room.

Breakfast was disappointing. The Danish pastries/croissants were stale. The Coffee was weak and the buffet breakfast wasn’t available on our 2nd morning.

Everything. The pool was great. Big rooms. Very clean! Restaurant was great. Room service was quick and convenient and the atmosphere was nice! Close to everything the market the parliament buildings etc.

Right in the centre of downtown Ottawa in a characteristic style building. The hotel has grandeur and meets the expectation of travellers seeking some luxury and quiet in teh heart of the capital.

The breakfast buffet could have more choice for the price.

I enjoy my time very much. Lord Elgin is like a boutique hotel.

The mattress was a little bumpy.

Great location with easy walking to most tourist sites. Efficient check in with friendly staff. The room we had was a front view of the park and king size but surprisingly small. It was comfortable and well appointed

Expensive for what it is but this is probably a reflection of central Ottawa prices

It was historic, beautiful, and VERY centrally located. We walked everywhere and never needed our car. The staff were very helpful and friendly and everything was clean.

The foam pillows were like marshmallows and wouldn't flatten enough for a good night sleep. Both my friend and I woke up with neck pain because our head was tilted all night. My friend said her bed was okay, but I had a terrible time with the comfort of the bed and also woke up with back pain every day. It was comfortable to sit on, but not sleep. The linens were very nice though.

Staff were very friendly. Location was ideal for walking to all the places we wanted to see.

Gridlock of cars in front of hotel. Cars stationed there for persons checking out while Cars of those trying to check in can't enter and are left on the street for a long time.

No robes in room. Towels were small and rough. Room garbage wasn’t thrown out.

Great location, very close to the Parliament and Rideau Centre. Great staff. Great room view. Very clean room.

The room is generally smaller (and the bed is probably a bit smaller) than those with the similar price at other hotels, which is likely because the hotel was built during the WWII.

Location and staff. Although valet parking is expensive at $39 per day, it was a nice service. Took a while to get car on busy days but the staff work hard to satisfy clients.

Small rooms. Not much room for luggage and moving around. Bathroom small and door is sliding did not close completely or lock.
