Location is excellent and steps from everything. TheText prompts and the staff are awesome. Friendly and accomodating.

The beds are decent but the pillows are terrible.

Staff: bell "boys" were very good and especially the nice woman who made us a BIG hot chocolate and BIG tea to go from Grill 41 at the end of a long day on Saturday.. just what we wanted

It is in a fabulous location.

Our room was close to the elevator so we could hear people shouting to each other as they returned to their rooms at 2am. There was also light shining in from around the door. If it sealed properly then it may not be so noisy.

Very comfortable and quiet

Breakfast area is a bit small and can get super busy. The breakfast buffet is very limited, but you may also order from the breakfast menu.

Not the same coffee machines in every room.. last time we stayed in June it was better - lavvazzio versus Kurig

Hotel is in a great location being just down from Parliament Hill and Eglin St. itself being busy with lots of places to eat etc. Rooms were comfy, decent swimming pool, hot tub & sauna.

The restaurant was ok. Overpriced for the quality of food. Had dinner and breakfast there once and then ate out every other day.

Personnel readily provided all available option for addressed concerns. Fast and effective service. Showers and cleanliness is excellent.

Room looks very ordinary. I expected more classic/vintage/historical stile and ambient.

Great location, cool art deco carpets on the 10th floor. Comfortable rooms. Clean with friendly staff.

Rooms are not the most soundproof. AC system is finnicky.

Elevators are mechanically noisy(our room was close to them), and guests were speaking loudly as they waited for them, as well as shouting down the hall to each other, at all hours of the night. Perhaps the hotel could include a gentle reminder to be considerate of other guests in its welcome materials

Not a fan of the valet parking. Makes forgetting items in the vehicle prohibitive to access.

You have to use valet service which was another $45. They did not disclose this. On the website it said 25 to park... I had an elderly person with me and had no option but to pay the $45. Also, there was a pride parade that blocked the street and access to the hotel until after 4:00 p.m. The hotel knew when I called that I had a senior with me. This caused us difficulty and I didn't appreciate that. The hot tub needs to be cleaned out and freshwater the towels at the pool area are worn out, The mattresses need mattress covers or pillow tops added. They were not very comfortable, The towels also should be upgraded or replaced.,

I liked that it was a vintage hotel with modern amenities. Comfortable and quiet, but easy to walk to so many places.

Our room needed to be dusted.

I loved how close the hotel is to everything. We walked everywhere. The hotel was pretty quiet. The beds were nice and firm.

Shower glass doors leak water to washroom floor. Urine stains on toilet (not cleaned properly)

Great bed. Accessible room was partly accessible - wide doors, bath seat & bars in shower & behind toilet.

Soap containers too far to reach from bath seat. Need side bar by toilet. Need breakfast bar for coffee & muffins. Restaurant very good but only for meals too expensive for a quick bite.

Very central . Convenient , clean and good quality.

There was a fire alarm/evacuation that was not well handled. No acknowledgment of the inconvenience it caused guests, no apologies , no information on cause or implications. No compensation offered, although, when asked, some was given.

The hotel was in a great location and walking distance to parliament hill. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good quality and fairly priced.

There was nothing that could have been better.

The location was perfect. The room was very clean. The beds were comfortable.

There should be a bedside table on both sides if the bed.

We were on the 9th floor and had asked for a room on a higher floor. The two double beds in the room were comfortable. The furniture was a little dated and the view was of the hotel roof from all aspects. The location was central and easily accessible to all areas by foot.

The coffee in the room is terrible. With the starbucks in the building you would think you would at least have it in the rooms. But I guess that is to force people to go spend money at Starbucks.

Good location, walking distance to most of the central venues.

This hotel has seen its best days, the finish on a lot of the funiture, carpets and inventories have stains or marks. It is not that is it brooken.

I always passed by this gorgeous hotel and was curious of living in. So this time I reserve it. Service is great, room is clean and neat.

No bottles of water, the window doesn’t isolate the noise very well.

The pool area was fabulous. Location can’t be beat.

Breakfast was disappointing. The Danish pastries/croissants were stale. The Coffee was weak and the buffet breakfast wasn’t available on our 2nd morning.

Right in the centre of downtown Ottawa in a characteristic style building. The hotel has grandeur and meets the expectation of travellers seeking some luxury and quiet in teh heart of the capital.

The breakfast buffet could have more choice for the price.
