Breakfast was amazing, great views and lots of choice Swimming pool and sauna were clean but no towels available. Location was beautiful and the rooms were a great size. The hotel was unique. The evening meal was amazing but service was slow.

There was no coffee or milk available. After asking twice I gave up as we were not allocated in the main building. Staff gave no information on check in regarding breakfast or meals and it was hard to find the correct rooms and spa.

Really nice hotel with a very nice view and surroundings.

Breakfast was amazing. Pool and sauna perfect. Location peaceful. Beautiful artwork and scenery. Nice walks recommended by concierge.

Location, the state of the room which was very modern, clean and have all facilities. Breakfast was great with a good selection. I even think scrambled eggs was made by eggs and not powder. Great stay

We had an extraordinary experience at this hotel! I would advise to stay here at least for a night if you are in Oslo, because it offers a whole different experience in the mountain and the beautiful nature. We can't thank enough to the staff; our original room was a bit chilly for us and the lady moved us to a bigger room with a free upgrade! The food is perfect, for dinner as well we didn't consider going out because the restaurant has an amazing view.

Shower water a bit weak

This hotel was one of our absolute highlights during our Norway trip! We were greeted with heartiness and instantly felt super comfy. The pool was huge, sauna was nice too. Rooms were spacious and super tidy, and, in general, this more than 100 years old hotel showed the class of a Grand Hotel! On top, breakfast was outstanding. Really, we have travelled a lot but this experience was one of a kind! We definitely will return!

Lovely building in a beautiful location. The rooms were small but extremely well maintained, clean and nicely decorated. Comfortable bed. The absolute highlight was the marvellous breakfast. Probably the best ever had in a hotel!

We arrived a bit delayed and the restaurant was already closed, earlier than anticipated and than expected based on the website. Also our reservation of a table which was done via the bookings.com messaging feature apparently has been missed out. However, the staff was super friendly and organised some basic bread, salmon, charcuterie and cheese for us which was just brilliant! If you wish to be sure of a table for dinner I would recommend you call to make sure you will be served.

The Hotel was set in beautiful grounds and was decorated with taste. The room size was generous. The breakfast was excellent with a great selection of different food of great quality. I loved the use of the kitchen garden and their own honey.

The staff good be more helpful especially with luggage and suggestions of what to do and about the property.

I liked how cosy the accommodation was. it felt like a cabin trip in the mountains. Facilities were clean and the staff was friendly.

I like the place and the location. Its near in Oslo sentrum and the location is perfect for my kids. I like also the food and my kids enjoyed the swimming pool.

The thing i didn't like is that the table lamp on the side of my kids bed were blinking, so i just turned it off.

Beautiful setting in old historic buildings. It was a busy night with two weddings but we still felt very welcome and well taken care of by everyone we met - particular in the reception and in the restaurant. The indoor pool was amazing and with a beautiful view. The breakfast offered everything you could dream of. Perfect stay on our way further north.

The atmosphere and hospitality of the staff.

A little far off the beaten path.

Lysebu was a gem tucked away on the mountainsides around Oslo. The front desk staff were so friendly and welcoming and happy to help with any requests. The rooms were so comfortable and relaxing and ours had an unbelievable view. We had dinner our first night as well as breakfast both mornings and the restaurant was superb. Our server for dinner had an extensive knowledge of the menu and the wine selection and was 5 stars! Breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts we have ever had. Conveniently the metro stop is a short walk away, even though you feel you are tucked away in the countryside, making getting into Oslo very easy and affordable.

Our air conditioning in the room didn’t seem to work, but otherwise we are sad that we only stayed 2 nights!

The location was fantastic on the hill with the famous Holmenkollen ski jump and ski centre. Felt rural because the area is dense with woodland. Metro line just 10 minutes walk away from hotel which took you to the centre of Oslo. The style of this Hotel is a tasteful mix of traditional and modern.

Unfortunately the Spa was closed for repair and that was one of the reasons we chose the Lysebu. Hopefully it will be open when we come back again.

Historic property that has been tastefully updated. restaurant was excellent for dinner and breakfast.

Shame that the pool and sauna were closed for maintenance. Nobody told us at booking or prior to our arrival. A sincere apology for the inconvenience was provided, but no compensation was offered.

The breakfast was really good with a lot of selection. The room was modern and nice, the location a little bit remote. But this should be obvious while booking, maybe it should be addressed more clearly.

Location is perfect and the interior is beautiful. Very calming and stylish. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and well laid out.

I think the breakfast could have been better. It seemed a little chaotic but that seems down to staff issues.

Very nice location, many options for walking/trekking. Possible to get to the place from Oslo by metro (+a bit on foot). Clean cozy room, though not very big. Swimming pool and sauna included. REALLY good breakfast!

The atmosphere.

The automatic closing system for the bathroom door might be dangerous for small kids. Should be removed.

It was beautifully done out, with a feeling of comfort and elegance. The breakfasts were extensive and delicious and the bed was really comfortable. The swimming pool was of a good size and temperature and the views were stunning. A really peaceful, relaxing venue.

The menu for the evening meal was very strange though the good we had was excellent (particularly the baked Alaska!). We booked two rooms and only one had coffee making facilities in the room. I asked at the desk but was told that is how it is as there are free coffee stations in the building - however if you want a cup of coffee in bed in the morning, you don’t want to go downstairs in your nightwear to make it.

For our last night in Norway, I knew we booked something fancy but I did not know it would be this fancy! Wonderful and friendly welcome and added bonus, room upgrade :) Spacious, deluxe room with a great bed, sitting area with comfy sofa, desk area, large bathroom and a balcony with great sunset views. Dinner was a joyful experience in a room with views of treetops and the horizon. The service was friendly and our meal and drinks tasty. After a good nights sleep we enjoyed a superb breakfast. Once again in a room that again provided beautiful views and so many food and drink options to choose from. Check-out was also friendly experience and we enjoyed our stay very much.

I cannot think of something we didn't like. We didn't have the opportunity to use the pool and such so we have to come back to enjoy that :)
