Hotel Guldsmeden, Oslo

Very cozy style, lovely bed room, very comfortable bed. It was great to have free coffee and tables to work or just relax for a while. Lovely staff.

The spa was available only on reservation and for a price. The bathroom was nice but a bit too small, the options available at the reception for drinks and snacks was very limited.

Room was really nice, comfortable with all little extra things provided that you might need (e.g toiletries, toothbrush, slippers). I paid extra for breakfast and that was a great decision, the buffet had loads of choices. Very much recommend

Nice, beautiful, and comfortable hotel.

- The staff were not too welcoming. - The music was annoying. You could hear repetitive, ritzy music at reception, while waiting, during breakfast and even in the spa. This kind of music is made for shopping centers and is not appropriate in a hotel and especially in the spa where you need to relax. I even asked the receptionist if it was possible to stop or turn down the music in the spa. She didn't even speak! she just touched the button and I don't even know if she really turned it down! as we could still hear it loudly enough in the spa.

Friendly clean comfortable and great location

The hotel is in a quiet location near the city center, offering a peaceful atmosphere. I appreciated the provided reusable water bottles and the nice breakfast. The interior and room decor created a pleasant ambiance.

I was disappointed that the two rooms had only one entrance, as I expected them to have separate entrances. Also, there was no towel for feet in the bathroom.

- Too many fragrances in the room. It was difficult to fall asleep for my son, who struggles with eczema - The breakfast room was too small - I would like more organic and healthy options - Dogs in the hotel. What about guests who are allergic?

Breakfast was good and staff very accommodating.

The breakfast was fantastic, location of the hotel is super, beds are good, the room is clean but small. But what do you want. Oslo is not cheap, people are very nice and helpfull.

N.B.! Room booked by my husband so evaluated by Cristina! Reception staff were very friendly. Breakfast staff greeted nicely (friendly start to the day) & were very accommodating (I wanted to eat outside).

Only downside was sounds from outside/other rooms which were easily overcome with earplugs.

The bed and the breakfast table were magical. When I describe your hotel to my friends. I say: 'It's like coming home to a yoga teacher's home. But a vibe of harmony and stillness. Among ceramics and a certain tone of Italy, Spain and Greece.'

The bathroom was small and got very wet.

The location was great: restaurants and the waterfront were within easy walking distance; easy access from the National Theatre train station; quiet, clean neighborhood. The decor in the rooms was delightful. The staff was SO pleasant, patient, friendly and helpful. (Can't say enough about the staff.) Complimentary coffee and water available in the "dining" area. I personally did not eat breakfast at the Guldsmeden but those in my party who did had positive comments.

The rooms themselves were a little small/tight requiring some mindfulness in setting up luggage for use. The Guldsmeden is NOT air-conditioned. It had good natural ventilation the days we were there, but the following week had the highest temps of the summer and I was thankful we were staying elsewhere.

The location was excellent - we liked that it was in a quiet area but within easy walking distance of Akke Brygge. The staff were all very friendly & pleasant to deal with.

We didn’t like that there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room and no cupboard for putting away our clothes

Although the room was on the smaller side, it was comfortable and had a handy balcony. The location is around 10 minutes walk from National Theatre train stop so although not as handy as some hotels, it was not unreasonable. There was a Thai theme to the hotel which was different and made it unique compared to standard hotels. Option to take a recycle bottle to fill with water was a nice touch.

Great location and a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was fantastic!

The room was small but was cozy snd had everything i needed; a good (!) bed, a desk and a place to put my suitcase. Excellent bathroom amenities (soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, body oil, toothbrush..a lot!!). I addition, there was a free reusable water bottle - i really like that since tap water is of Excellent quality in Oslo and i could take the bottle with me.

The bathroom was TINY. You can’t really sit on the toilet without bumping into the (microscopic) sink. The shower zone was ok , though, and the shower worked well. Breakfast could have been included for all.

Wonderful room and the front desk staff was truly lovely.

Just a bath mat. Americans struggle in Europeans showers!

I loved the organic feel of this hotel. The hotel was cozy & quaint. This was a perfect location to walk or bus everywhere around Oslo

Breakfast was excellent, great choice and high quality in nice relaxing surrounds. The staff were very freindly and extremely helpful with no request too much bother. The location was great being just outside the main busy centre but not too far away to walk. A really enjoyable couple of nights at a good price.

Some of the bedroom furniture was a little tired. E.g. the towel rack. That's all.

The location-very safe and close to the center, bus stop in front of the hotel, the cleanliness, the staff, the cozy atmosphere, the view of my room. I liked that my room was cleaned every day

The upstairs guests had kids and one night they were especially loud, so you might take into consideration to not put them at a high floor next time :) also I didn't like that the room did not have any kettle, coffee or tea

Well located from Nationaltheateret station, but visitors should know to walk towards Ibsen gate when leaving the train as that exit is much closer to the hotel. Good family room with two separate bedrooms and bathrooms. Beds were comfortable and the street started being noisy only around 7:00 a.m. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and well appointed, with extremely soft towels. Great value overall.

Unfortunately there was a group of travellers who checked in very late at night and were not asked by reception to keep it quiet, resulting in about 20 minutes of loud noises, shouting and slamming of doors. This event disrupted sleep and marred an otherwise very good stay.

Great location. Good value for Oslo. Friendly helpful staff. Public car parking garage nearby. Expensive but secure for motorcycles.
