The location is perfect!! Hotel is beautiful on the inside and out. Room size and layout is good, also. Breakfast is awesome!!!

In floor 4and5 to many stairs

A beautiful hotel right in the very centre of Oslo. Rooms are spacious and the bed is one of the most comfortable ever. Our room was ready early which was so lovely. The room also had opening windows which is so important to us as we struggle to sleep without fresh air.

Our room looked out into a light well, so felt dark at all times. As we were only staying two nights it wasn’t really an issue but I wouldn’t want to stay much longer.

Location, Friendly helpful staff, newly decorated rooms and beautiful dining room. Very good selection at breakfast and excellent in the dining room. Cooked breakfast could be hotter.

A little sparse in the EnSuite with regards space for toiletries and a lack of sanitary waste bags. Other than that everything one would expect eg hair dryer, ironing board, safe..

Very central to Oslo main square and important buildings. Beautiful foyer and the rooms were very comfortable.

Restaurant in foyer was great but meals needed some changes which were willingly done.

The location, the very friendly staff, the breakfast. Their afternoon tea place looked nice. Didn’t have time to try it.

Navigation doesn’t take you directly to the entrance, we roamed around for 30 minutes, then had to stop by the right side of the hotel to drop off our luggage. I turned out there is another entrance door, but you have to double park. Housekeeping is not 24/7 was not an issue only that of value of money. A/c not working properly in some rooms but we managed with windows as it was nice weather outside.

The location of this hotel is outstanding. Right in the city centre. There were some places in the hotel where the upkeep was lagging, but all in all this was an excellent property. Maybe not 5 stars, but certainly 4.5. The staff were SUPER helpful and accommodating.

Excellent and good value for money

Arrived check in after 10 pm needed to have a snack but no room service and no restaurant open after 10 pm !!

Excellent location, the hotel looks really nice and the staff is friendly.

Sometimes, the people at the reception do not like people just walking in and asking for a room. Fortunately, booking helps with on the spot reservations .

Slow response on fixing the A/C settings in the room which was set at 16 degrees C

Great location A bit older hotel: uneven steps and many thresholds in the hallways which makes moving your luggage more difficult No ramp to get your luggage from reception floor to elevators

I think breakfast should have been included for the price I paid (suite)

The beds and pillows were too soft. The access on level 4 where our room was meant climbing multiple stairs with your luggage The in house Restaurant offered a very limited menu

Stellar location steps away from the Flytoget train from Oslo Airport. Comfortable beds.

Lobby packed with people hanging out. Indifferent staff. Small room and stairs in the hallways.

The location is perfect. The design is exquisite. Staff are kind, polite, always with a smile and very helpful.

No ramp to move from lift to concierge. There are some 6 steep steps and if you're traveling with somebody else you need to carry luggage up and down twice. Besides it's easier for staff and travellers.

The reception staff was not very customer oriented. One staff member was pointing the finger at me in an unpolite manner asking me not to take the stairs where apparently there was a private area for some meetings. I was expecting a more polite addressing from a staff working at Grand Oslo. Pointing the finger was pretty unpleasant.

Beautiful, historic, well maintained. Both restaurants were quite good with friendly wait staff. I loved that there was a bathtub! After a long day, to soak and relax was great, and all of the other hotels where we stayed only have showers.

The bedroom was small with not much space to put suitcases. I didn’t like that there were stairs between the reception and the elevators. A ramp would have been helpful, as when we first arrived all the reception staff was busy and not available to help us with bags on the stairs. Someone did help us eventually.

Very central location, on Karl Johan street, near Royal Palace (550 m right), 5-10 mins walk to all touristic points. Very friendly and professional staff. Hotel aspect is perfect, a combination of style, luxury and professionalism.

... the room was a bit too small (versus MY expectations ...), but enough large to be comfortable There is no toilet brush in the bathroom (we had room 444) Drawers were not functional (near bed)

Location was amazing. Great, professional and very helpful staff. We were upgraded to a higher category for free, and our room was placed next to our kids room.

The swimming pool timing for children is for two hours only (from 8:00 am to 10:00 am). I think they timing should be extended for children. Entrance to swimming pool is free for children but 250 NOK for adults. The room service is until 11:00 pm only. This could be extended too. parking for a fee !

Location is ideal for touring the historic section of town. The room is comfortably furnished. TV included English channels and weather - nice feature.

Its overpriced for what you get. The restaurant is very nice, but too expensive - and usually almost empty because of it. The hours food is served are not accommodating a busy schedule.

The property is grand, elegant and harkens back to a golden era of travel. The location couldn’t be better as the hotel is located a stones throw from the National Theatre, the University of Oslo, the Parliament buildings, the Royal Palace and local shopping. The central train station is a 7 minute walk away. There is a wonderful rooftop bar that gives you incredible views of the city. The hotel provides heat lamps and blankets in cooler weather which were needed when we sat outside there in June. There is a gorgeous library on the main floor filled with comfortable leather chairs, a fireplace and plenty of books, journals and newspapers. It’s a lovely place for a quiet drink and a think.

As the hotel is older there is no air conditioning or way to cool the room other than opening the windows which isn’t ideal given it’s central location and potential for night noise.

Old building so it has a history

Did not have a freestanding shower. Only had a tub (very high and hard to get in) with the shower in the tub. No grab rails No heat in the room. Had steps just to get to the elevator. And on the floor had steps in the corridors between hallways. No heat in the room. Was not warm.

The location

The hotel is located right in the centre of Oslo. Sevice was top notch and the hotel breakfast was great.

The stay was rather pricy for what the room and the hotel had to offer in terms of facilities. The AC unit at our room was quite old.

A lot of the rooms are not renovatated

Friendly staff, great location, comfy bed, classic style with modern touches, heated bathroom floor!

Breakfast was good and easy in the grand cafe. We ate at the restaurant one night and the food was delicious, service was very good. The concierge was helpful. The location was the best for exploring Oslo. The bathroom was updated and nice; the wardrobe room was a treat.

We had booked a courtyard view room and got a front facing one. We should have complained. We heard all the protest going on in the square, as well as the rumbling of the trams. With the windows closed, it blocked a lot of the noise but the weather was beautiful and we would have liked to keep the windows open. The heater in our room would not shut off (we didn’t turn it on). We let the hotel know and they gave us a portable air conditioning unit. It didn’t add to the ac unit in the room. They never checked on us. For the cost of the room - $400+, we expected more. Finally, the side tables were very shabby and old. Again, not what you’d expect. We will not stay there again.

Breakfast was wonderful with many choices. Bed was super comfy and the room was the perfect size.

The location, comfort, check in and out staff and concierge could not have been more helpful.

The rooftop bar staff made us feel quite unwelcome. It’s a fabulous location but we never went back.

Expensive but good and well worth the price

Good interiors and clean rooms. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Fast Check in process. Grand Cafe is perfect for breakfast their food and service are perfect.

- No bathroom amenities. - Limited lunch & dinner options for room dining. - No complementary water or snacks when you arrive to your room and no pen available.

Very tiny bathroom. It was about the same size as the closet. I had to walk sideways to get in and out.

Great location, beautiful hotel and large room.

Expensive for what it is compared to other hotels in Norway. There was a large conference there at the time which disrupted the peacefulness a little. The room was clean but the gym wasn’t.
