Super location, walking distance to most highlights and central station

Clean room and bathroom, good value compared to other Oslo hotels and a really convenient location. Check in and out was easy with the machines.

Luggage room was not properly secured - door handle was not fully attached so we did not use. The room was a bit too hot in July/summer as there is no air con (only in the corridors)

No breakfast and noisy room on the Main Street. It was very hot as no air con but could not open the window due to noise.

Great central location with good transport links. Self service check-in was very easy. Hotel had some great extras like table tennis, TVs and kitchen facilities.

There was no a/c in the room and the window didn't open very far, so the room was uncomfortably warm during our stay.

Small room

Rooms were nice size and quiet. Bed was super comfy. Location is amazing, near everything, lots of restaurants around.

The bathroom was dirty.

Very central, with a bus stop just outside and near the train station. The room was bigger than I expected and there are available facilities in the building, including a shared kitchen and options for laundry (for a small fee). The room was super clean and bright.

It's central and on a busy street so it can get a bit noisy. There were lots of windows which was great but the curtains were not enough for us in July (no sunset), it was find with an eye mask. The matress was comfy but dipped.

The room got very hot and there was no air con. The room was on the Main Street and it was very noisy so I couldn’t open it for air

Hope the common area at the ground floor will have microwave and electric Kettle to warm and make simple food

Basic and functional hotel with good value for money. 10-15 minutes walk from train station and nearby tram station.

The machines were “blackout” during checkin but staff (Asian guy) was helpful and attentive to restore the service for us. We were unable to make payment by credit card and staff in the office could assist with the payment too.

Functional and clean

Noisy outside and had to open the windows because it was so hot. No tea!

The location is phenomenal and the bed was comfortable. Common areas were lovely to connect and chat.

The room was very comfortable. It was small, but as a solo traveller with only one suitcase, it was enough space for me and I never felt like I was likely to bump into anything. The hotel itself was perfectly serviceable

The room didn't have a TV - it was very much a place to crash at the end of the day. This is fine if that's what you're after and have someone to chat to, but as a solo traveller sleeping in a single bed, it did mean I was locked to my phone after my day had ended

The check-in and check-out process is very straightforward and all done via electronic terminals, but there are also staff on-site if you need assistance. Luggage storage was easily available before and after your stay. My single room, though small, was well laid out and had everything I needed, including a very comfy bed. The location is very close to the central train station and some of the top attractions. The area is very walkable. And though they don't have food available, they have discounts with nearby restaurants. Overall, I had a great stay!

I liked the close location from train station and city center, easy access for self check in, modern rooms and bathroom, nice views, clean and comfortable. It was also quiet.

I liked everything. Please expand to other parts of the country.

Could have been more clean. Found a hair on the bed sheets and toilet.

We were very pleasantly surprised at how nice Citybox Oslo is. After reading some negative reviews, we were hesitant but it was great. Clean, comfortable, good amenities, and you can't beat the location.

Quick check-in and check out process. Close to the station and good value for money. Shower was good and room surprisingly big for the price.

Cozy

The rooms are small, at least compared to central Europe. Not disturbingly small, but a bit small. However, it worth that money. The only really disturbing fact is the absence of glasses. If you want to drink from a decent ( not cardboard) glass, you have to buy one, which is totally insane. When you pay 960 euro for a week or less, you expect to have at least two glasses in a room. How much could cost a glass ? Two euros ? However, for Norway, the prices are fair and the place is very good. I would go again for sure.

I liked that I could check in very late. I can use a machine to check in. There is a desk that you can use inside the room, and the bed is comfortable. The space fits one person, which is good. For the price, I think the room is acceptable, and you can tolerate the negatives.

I don't like that there are no individual lockers if you want to store your laptop. The luggage room downstairs is only for people, who are checking out. The signs to go to the building A, B or C are confusing for first timers. The cleaning every three days was not a great experience, you should atleast add a place where you can dump the towels on the same floor not downstairs. If you want to eat in the room, you room might stink for three days.

Spacious room and bathroom. Automated checkin and checkout system. Very close to key sights in the city. Guest kitchen with microwaves, paper cutlery and sitting lobbies was very thoughtful.

Rude staff. The coffee in the Guest Kitchen is a paid machine. I paid for my coffee but found no sugar. I walked to the office and asked the girl sitting there if sugar was supposed to be made available with the coffee. She bluntly replied 'No'. When I tried further to explain I drink my coffee with sugar and I had paid for it, she said she did not drink coffee and she was also not the manager. It was rude and unemphatic making me very unwelcome at the property. The lady at the restaurant attached to the hotel was kind enough to let me take a spoon of sugar with no questions asked.

Rooms do not have mini fridge. So we cannot keep drinks cold. Rooms do not have slippers.

Location and value - Norway is very expensive. The shared space with kitchen facilities meant that we could buy breakfast in the nearby grocery store (Joker supermarket is a block away) and eat it in the hotel.

The location of Citybox Oslo was absolutely perfect. Located a short walk from Oslo train station, Karl Johan Gate, the opera house and more, it has a tram station right in front of it too. There is a Joker minimart and many restaurants close by. Very convenient. True to its no-frills positioning, the room was small and basic (no kettle, tissues, water, TV or refrigerator; essentially a desk, bed and bathroom) but very clean and comfortable. It was good value for a solo traveller for a 3 night stay to explore the city. Check-in was self help at a machine - easy and quick. Check-out took under a second by returning the key through a slot.

There could have been more than one kettle at the common pantry area serving so many rooms over 3 blocks. I decided not to do any laundry because of the friction - it required downloading a new app, etc. just to do so. Door alignment for lifts could be better to reduce scraping sound and extend life of the equipment.

The price

It was good for the price. Clean and functional.

The price of the laundry. One small load 225 NOK as one round of drying was not enough. One of the reasons we stayed was the laundry facilities so it would be enough for us to choose somewhere else next time.

Junior suite is quite large. The hotel is near the central town.

No mug or glass cups offered , only disposable cup. No air conditioner. The location of hotel is near pubs and tram route , it was not so quiet during the night we stayed.

There is a laundry room on the ground floor. We were there during Pride week & the hotel was very expensive.

Good Location and good hotel of Citybox series. Everything was as expected from them.

Rooms are really small.

The location is very central and close to all the shops etc. The room was comfortable - the bed really comfy and the shower was great! The small double is just that a small double for 2 it was absolutely fine!

There could have been a few more appliances in the kitchen. The toilet paper was very rough and cheap. The towels small and too few were given! The hotel would have benefited from a noise level guidance late at night.

It's just a very small room! Also, it would have been nice to have at least two small towels, rather than just one, in addition to the two bath towels, AND a bath mat. The shower stalls are tiny, and no matter how hard you try, the floor will be flooded. But then, it was no problem getting a few additional towels for drying the floor.

Room is small.

Clean, spacious, good facilities and good room temperature (nice and cool). Check in was super easy and the hotel was only a 5 minute walk from central station.

The mattress wasn't great; it would be ok for 1 person but not for 2 sharing as it was too soft.

Functional. Central. Had a "cool hostel like" energy to it. Very easy to check in and check out and store luggage.

Ill designed room in some regards. Small expected. But clothes rail in an awkward spot. Also hot in June as no room controls to change temperature.

Central location

The rooms are literally boxes 😬😜 No staff around to help which I needed to organise a complexity with in. My floor was stained which just made it feel a bit uncomfortable.

Perfect for the Tons of Rock festival. Tram stop by the front door that takes you right there on the #13. 5 minutes walk from the main train station also. Great coffee shops on two corners of the block. Joker 7-11 type shop 1 block along the road. Rooms were clean, although you are left alone and the cleaners only come once a week. Handy for shopping and pubs. 5-10 mins walk to Munch museum and boat tours. Thought electronic check in might be a chew but it was easy - they SMS you a reference number on check in day - enter this and you’re good to go. Got two keys no problem. Staff are available and friendly if you need anything. Make sure you are at the right block before you head upstairs.

Didn’t like the lifts. Got stuck one night, the emergency button rang and rang and no-one came. Ended up having to force the door open, which was a lucky escape. Used the stairs from then on.

Great location, super easy check-in (including possibility to leave luggage a bit before or after the stay). Didn’t stay long but would go again.

Location of City Box Oslo is amazing, very close to all the central sights and a walkable distance to explore entire city. We loved automatic check-in and check-out, and it was very clean and tidy. Internet was great!

The pricing was too much for a hostel, especially since no one cleaned our room for 2 nights. Shower definitely needs a new design, since entire bathroom is drenched in water after taking a shower.
