Easy check-in and check-out. Good communication beforehand. Room was fine - no frills, but had everything I needed. Great location and nice and close to the train station.

Felt expensive for what it was - although I suspect that says more about Oslo in general than this hotel in particular.

Location

Having to go to and from reception 3 times as fan did not work and could not open window. No temperature control. Finally moved to another room which was smaller but no privacy curtains so you could have natural light.

Good location close to station and main attractions, good communal facilities, nice pizza place attached to the hotel (with discount for hotel guests)

I really enjoyed my stay at Citibox Oslo. The room was small, but I expected that. The location was fantastic! So close to the train station and easy to navigate to. I also loved the common areas. They had thought of everything a traveler needed. Shared kitchen with fridge, kettle and microwave, laundry, games room, TV room, lounges.

Nothing major. As I said room was small, but that was expected (budget room) and it allowed me to stay in the heart of the city for an affordable price.

The one thing that bothered me was the ventilation in the room. It could not be adjusted and it could not be turned off. I want a button that switches it off. Other than that the hotel room and hotel system was smooth and very convenient.

Location is at just at the hear of the city, a must stay option

This now my go-to hotel for Oslo: stayed two nights (one on arrival, one pre-departure a week later). Citybox still need to iron out some tech issues (booking was scrambled, for ex., but got sorted with the on-site humans). And/but for the target group (clue: lots of students/young people + seniors/retirees in the lobby/kitchen area on the ground floor) it is perfect. Oslo is notoriously expensive. This place is not. It is clean with truly minimal furnishings, including some clever space-saving options (wall hooks & rack). Definitely go for the room with balcony if possible as it adds immeasurably to the experience at a very low top-up.

Citybox is very sparing with towels and the first night there was no bathmat -- a sign in the bathroom indicates "helpfully" that you can get more down at the ground floor. But who is going to do that (dress, traipse out, wait for very slow elevator, etc.) when they're primed to take a shower on the 7th floor? No toothbrush glass either, but the ground-floor staff noted I could pick up a paper cup at the coffee machine in the kitchen area. Who cares? WYSIWYG, so that's OK with me, as long as it's clean. Two "maintenance" issues, however: the nightside table (inexpensive plywood screwed into headboard) had been partially ripped off so was slanting downwards and not stable, and the electric sockets on the desk were out of order. ?No big deal in that there were other sockets in the tiny room, but should have been fixed. Only real complaint: the bathroom desperately needs more grab bars. The space is so slimmed down (zero bars) that some of those seniors down in the lobby area could be risking a fall.

Good for overnight stay, close to central station. Staff responded quickly when I had a problem with the bathroom door. What I needed for a one night stay. Kitchen area seemed good, but I didn't use it. Automated check in worked fine for me, although another person checking in at the same time had some problems. As advertised, this is a very small room, ok for a small person.

Bathroom door was imposible for me to open even after staff came up and opened it for me. Had to leave the door open so I could use the bathroom. OK for a single person overnight, but really not acceptable. The building is really confusing to navigate. Good signage on the main floor, but not so much on the higher floors.

Easy Check in, large Lobby, waiting area, luggage room. Really comfy bed and very Clean. Easy stay, will come back.

I think one's experience here totally depends on the room. I booked a Double and it was clean, comfortable, quiet, and temperature controlled. I also really appreciated the laundry and dining facilities, and close proximity to the train station!

It was very close to the Oslo central station. Provision of microwave and kettle was an added plus! We were also allowed to check in early!

Thin walls and lots of people coming in and out all the time so even at night you would hear lots of people talking.

Loved having hooks on the wall as well as a small rack for hanging clothes. Guest kitchen with fridge facility available was nice to have, but we didn't use over the 2 nights we stayed. Location was great, near the train station, harbour waterfront, trams, shops. Nice and clean.

The location is really great in the Oslo city center and the shared facilities are useful such the chicken, tables, a lot of chairs and others.

Great location. Even our room was looking at the main street, it was pretty silent. Self Check in process was very easy. The common area is big and practical. I would definitely stay here again.

The location was close to the train station and downtown. It was excellent. Although we requested a quiet room and it was quiet internally, the street noise was quite loud at times. The room is spartan but functional. We were disappointed that although shampoo was quoted as a given there was only soap in the shower. We appreciated the quiet lounge spaces that allowed us an opportunity to relax before we could check-in. It would have been great to have a secure luggage drop-off location with an attendant. There was no staff around, and this could be an important value add for travelers.

Located within walking proximity to the Central Station, convenient for sightseeing. Grocery shops and plenty cafe and pubs around. The room is clean and well equipped.

The neighbourhood was rather bad, homeless people and police cars circulating during the evening. However, within 7 min walk to the Central Station the vibe changes drastically for good. Internet doesn’t work in the room. Shower gel should have been included to the room.

The check-in was smooth and signposting to bedroom was clear. Using the Kitchen and fridge amenities were also well signed. The area around the kitchen was spotlessly clean, Staff were on hand and very amenable. On arrival at the room all was in order. Room & bed was comfortable, space was adequate for two -nights. The key feature of the room was the proximity to the train station , restaurants , supermarkets and key sights such as the Opera House ,Library, Munch Gallery and waterfront.

The room was situated backing on to a street that was very busy with traffic and noisy from the late night revellers who were present.

It is a nice and cozy hotel in the center of the city. The location and the prices are a plus. It was also relatively clean and quiet. The room was OK, nothing to complain.

The hotel has a student vibe. Although the rooms are relatively modern and nicely furnished, they were quite worn.

Perfect location, easy to find and close to the station. It is a huge place but very well designed so from the moment of self check in which was very clear, you have a lot of space to use. Great room (private double) and inside bar with the most kind and happy worker. Excellent food and coffee.

I had issue with central ventilaton in my room 563, it was off and they changed and upgraded my room where the ventilaton was working. I had good night sleep.

Convenient and effortless checkin and checkout. No human contact needed. Small room was indeed small but definitely doable for a night or two. Centrally located. Good price.

It’s quite small to store luggages. If you have a lot of luggages it is worth it to pay more for a bigger room.

Great location, and overall pretty good for basic needs. Instead of a closet, they have a wall with large or small pin-shape hooks, which I found pretty convenient, especially if you have bags. So I ended up having several bags of daily items that I can quickly access to. Knowing what's offered in the kitchen could help better plan for the trip: one can get yogurt, fruits from stores nearby, which is pretty good already. Bring a thermal bottle is also helpful if you'd like to make tea or coffee in the room. There are many nice seating places in the common area.

The "kitchen" is actually a big, shared refrig, and an electric kettle, plus disposable dining wares. One can do instant noodles and that's it.
