Excellent location, great breakfast. Amazing staff & gym

Beautiful hotel and wonderful and helpful people! Right across from the central station in Oslo, so the location is perfect! Will be staying there again.

The Amerikalinjen is fantastic! The staff is amazing and staff so friendly and helpful. Room is very comfortable and spotless. The breakfast buffet was also fantastic. A nice selection of everything and delicious. I’m celiac and they also had gluten free items available…don’t miss their gluten free Christmas bread! Without a doubt best location. We will definitely stay again next time in Oslo.

The classy and cosy vibe is still going strong at the “old” hotel. This is the second time I’ve booked this hotel and this’s time everything was close to perfect! The personel in the reception never fails to delivery a strong start to our stay. The room had usual great water pressure, and excellent quality in-room products right from the shape/ type of the beverage cups to the hairdryer, teas, linen, iron, to the personal products. Having the morning tea in the windowsill over looking the center square, is one of my favourite ways to start my day in Oslo. The breakfast had a lovely selection of everything included in a utterly diverse Scandinavian/Continental breakfast. And of course The drinks at the bar had great taste and quality!

Unfortunately, the staff at the bar and at the breakfast restaurant, was very busy, rendering waiting for service, queuing at the breakfast bar, queuing waiting for a booked table, in the back, crammed in behind a wall, between a nursing mother and her infant and a loud family of 7, not really the setting for a nice calming romantic breakfast… There was too many people in one room, making the whole experience rather chaotic and very loud. The staff was running as fast as possible, but felt a bit “caught in the headlights” by the crowds.

Great location with helpful and friendly staff in every role. Truly amazing selection of breakfast fayre. Lovely and clean bedroom, well serviced daily. Restaurant and bar area good and buzzy.

Bedroom heating was not apparently working but fan heater provided did the job. It would have been better if not needed. 'Hot' breakfast selection was never more than lukewarm. No heat lamps over or lit stands underneath.

Friendly and efficient staff - plenty of smiles everywhere! The location is just across the street from the train station, and a short walk to many sights.

The only weird thing is the "modern" lighting system, where it seems you more often turn ALL of the lights on or off, when you only wanted one. Imagine suddenly showering in the dark when your partner tries to turn off the bedside light to sleep. Funny, but a bit odd.

Beautiful hotel centrally located in Oslo. Easy to walk around town. The sleeping rooms were very comfortable and quiet. We had a very restful night sleep.

The hotel restaurant did not have many options for dinner, we found the menu a little bit limited and the food just average. However, the breakfast buffet the next day was wonderful.

Location is fantastic as you can walk everywhere Hotel staff were just fabulous; friendly and very helpful Breakfast was great and they even provided breakfast to go when we had an early flight. Cocktails and dinner were excellent as was the Jazz club. Rooms were not enormous but beds comfy and bathrooms great

Excellent service. Staff cares and is attentive to needs. The breakfast was the best in all our travels - and in addition to an elaborate, thoughtful, tasty buffet you could request more - and - your requests were directly addressed by a chef. Out of this world breakfast.

Great location, right in the town centre. Close to the train station and transport hub. The rooms were quiet, clean and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was amazing with a lots of variety.

It was difficult to adjust the AC but this is a minor issue

Huge range of options for breakfast and had area set aside for gluten free options. Great location, behind central station where across the road option of catching trams or buses Triple glazed windows kept noise from street out top quality decor and bathroom fixtures and fittings.

Bathroom design was well thought of. First time to see a hanger for towel inside the shower room. I really loved this feature. Simple yet useful. Bed was comfortable and the view from my room was exceptional! There were slippers and bathrobes too! Location was excellent! Loved everything !

Great location being central and next to the train station. Breakfast very nice, but could have offered more fruit. Gym is excellent. Staff very friendly. We had some useful restaurant tips from reception.

Little not to like. Breakfast so busy that the staff struggled to cope at times. Expensive, but not out of line with other quality hotels in Oslo.

The staff were all very welcoming and helpful. On the day that we checked out we needed to leave before breakfast started, so they made us to go breakfasts. These were ready for us at the desk when we checked out.

We had a hard time navigating to the hotel using our GPS. There was also not anywhere to park to unload our bags before parking the car a block away. This meant lugging our bags all the way from the 6th floor of the parking garage to the front of the hotel and up the stairs. We also had to do the same thing when leaving. Most hotels of this quality and expense in the United States would have someone to assist you with your bags.

Excellent staff, the room was so quiet and dark at night perfect! Breakfast was exceptional.

Beautiful historic hotel — kept some lovely original aspects while completely modernized. Great location right next to train station that connects via Express to airport. Super comfortable beds, great shower, excellent breakfast.

We had a very delayed flight and arrived at 3am. We were met by a very welcoming night staff member and given great attention. The included breakfast was wonderful and the view from the table was very nice.

The location is excellent- a short walk from the central station. The property is in great condition and spotlessly clean. The historic nature of the hotel is also of interest. The staff were superb.

The room was very small- there was barely enough room for two people to open suitcases.

Every staff member I interacted with went beyond what might have been expected to assist me. You cannot beat the location, right next to central station and all the main transit lines. Gustav's! Gustav's! Gustav's! Amazing jazz in a great room.

The gym lacked "light" weights for lifting. The coffee service was a little uneven some days. The bed could have been a little more comfortable.

The hotel is perfectly located near the station. The building of course has an interesting history and the re-purposing into a hotel works really well with great décor and atmosphere. The staff are extremely helpful, the rooms are nicely appointed and the breakfast is nicely presented and of good quality.
