Hotel Le Windsor, Nice

The staff were amazing especially the housecleaning staff. The rooms were extremely clean when we arrived but the cleaning service on a daily basis was outstanding!

The staff were so friendly and helpful (and patient with my poor French!). The location for me was excellent. It was 10-15 mins walk from main shopping area, 10 mins to area with lots of restaurants amd maybe 20 mins walk to beach. There is a wee shop a few doors down if you wanted snacks, fruit etc. Room was a good size, clean and comfortable. Welcome gift and drink was a lovely touch. Although I didn't use it, there is a beautiful outdoor terrace with lots of greenery and a pool area as well. It is a really interesting hotel with lots of unusual artwork.

The atmosphere

The room was big, quiet, comfortable and aircondition worked well. The garden was perfect and we could spend time there . Restaurant served good food. Walking distance everywhere.

The Bed ( mattress) had seen its better days. But dispite that we could sleep on it, didn't keep us awake.

Perfect location- very close to sea and promenade des Anglais. Lovely room overlooking trees and pool. Great buffet breakfast & friendly staff. Would certainly go back.

Small rooms

Shower over the bathtub. Very difficult to use, water went everywhere not just in the bath tub.

The location is amazing, in a safe and lively shopping area. The train station is also close if you want to go to Cannes or Monaco, to the old town it's about 10 minutes. Staff was friendly and helpful. My room had a lovely view of the garden and a small French balcony.

The hotel is clearly in an older building, but that doesn't excuse the rooms being old-fashioned and in need of maintenance. The AC seemed ancient, the bathroom had no ventilation and the shower no curtain to stop water from going everywhere, and no mosquito nets were on the balcony windows. The bathroom issues were particularly serious because every time I took a shower and made a wrong movement it created a mini flood in the bathroom. After showering, the humidity never really went away on the mirrors or in the air. The only way for the humidity to go was into the bedroom. Not fun. Towards the end of my stay I also noticed the sink pipes leaking water. Overall, the bathroom was a complete mess. The room itself was rather dark because of large blackout curtains that couldn't be fully opened. Also, why they attach a 1kg weight to a set of old-fashioned room keys rather than using cards is a mystery to me. I certainly did feel a bit surveilled having to leave my keys at the reception every time I wanted to leave...

Very tranquil setting, lovely gardens and small pool. Room had two French windows opening onto a terrace that led straight down to the garden area, Quality of meals at dinner was exceptional with service to match from all the staff.

Breakfast was adequate but not quite up to the standard of the meals at dinner time. There was very little not to like at the hotel although I was surprised to be charged for the water provided in the room as I didn't see any message that it was not complimentary.

The staff was incredible, and they even solved a small problem we had in record time

A bit on the expensive side, even for the city's standards

Greeting on arrival was excellent, the room was ready for us and the we were given lots of helpful advice and information. The location. Was hard to beat. And the garden and pool were so relaxing and such a bonus. Food in the restaurant good home cooking.

We had a very early check out - at 6.30. It would have been great to get a coffee and some pastry’s of fruit.

The room (we stayed in the Venice room) was amazing with an adorable balcony from which we could look out onto the garden. It's a lovely touch that takes you away from the urban feel of Nice. Service was also top here. The staff spoke perfect English and even helped us find our way to our next - more remote - destination

It would be nice if cushions were available for the balcony furniture - the chairs were a little uncomfortable

a little bit dated

Very good location, a close walk to everywhere. Also very close to the tram for the airport. Loved to have breakfast in the jungle garden. Just the right selection of breakfast. Love the choice of croissants and other bread. The staff was very service minded and nice.

There were no bedside tables i our room, had to use a small table from the bathroom.

Room was very small. Struggled to fit my legs in the space to use the toilet!

Fabulous hotel becuase of the individual rooms, the welcoming and helpful staff, the amazing jungle garden and the comfort afforded all round. If your room has a balcony, use it! It's marvellous no matter if you are gazing at roof tops or garden.

If the weather is poor and the hotel fully booked, breafasting space becomes a little challenging. A minor gripe.

Nice staff, clean and tidy hotel!

Beds were way too soft, breakfast could include more fruits and especially ready cut and peeled fruits. No potty was available even if the hotel is said to be family friendly.

Loved the gorgeous 'jungle' outdoors, with birds and exotic plants and comfy chairs. The staff were most helpful, and breakfast was good: choice between coffee and croissan, (6 euros), coffee plus croissant plus jam plus bread (10), and then a full breakfast (16 euros). Great to have breakfast in the 'jungle' when it was warm enough.

Even though our room was indeed quiet, and overlooked the garden, the decor was very er..... particular, and we didn't particularly like it. (room 20).

We booked so had a very noisy and quite small room above traffic lights . The hot water supply in the shower was rather unpredictable.
