The Standard High Line, New York

Although it’s been around for a while, it seems brand new. Brilliant sized rooms, amazing shower, a view from almost anywhere. Food was brilliant (shame they no longer do a bucket of wings on room service). Loved staying here.

Could hear the disco at night on the 15th floor - but not too awful . Just warn guests. Also bath tub did not stop up for a bath.

Location is great. Close to the metro. With many interesting places t visit nearby. The room is ok, but small as many others in NY. The restaurant is amazingly good. The staff is friendly.

During our first night we were in the 16th floor, literally unable to sleep until 4 am because of the noise coming from the night club. The person in the reception told us that she warned me but I couldn't imagine that the noise would be so loud. In an way she implied that it was kind of "my mistake" not to have paid attention to her comment.

The Staff were so friendly and helpful. The shower was amazing. The water pressure and water temperature were perfect. The bed was so comfortable and sheets were soft.

The rooms were small and no where to put clothes, unless to hang them. Not enough outlets in the room. And the hall where the elevator is, is too dark. Can’t see.

Location was unbeatable. Breakfast was excellent. There was even paid parking next door.

The location of the hotel is simply superb. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and really added to our stay, particularly Brent at the front desk who really went above and beyond to make our boys feel very special.

The rooms are small, but clean and quiet and incredible views!

The style of the room was almost art deco, which was nice. I liked that there was a loudspeaker.

I don't understand why the room was so expensive. The view from my room was also underwhelming.

The first room !!!! But after my complaint Rosa was kind enough to understand that I was with my daughter and it was her birthday during our staying and changed the room.

Nothing much to dislike - the gym could’ve been better equipped. My only disappointment was the door staff and servers at Le Bain - very rude to customers staying in the hotel when trying to get into the club and whilst in the club. Very disappointing and very old school.

Great location and our room had fabulous views. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The rooftop bar was very noisy and the music didn’t shut down until 2 or 3 am which is unacceptable. We asked for ear plugs but they didn’t really help. We wouldn’t recommend the hotel to our friends because of the noise.

I lived in NY in 2012 and used to frequent the Boom Boom Room (back when it was open to public) as well as Le Bain and the roof top. I had always wanted to stay here and back then couldnt afford it, so this time was a full circle moment. I was Graciously upgraded to a west facing view of the Hudson which was super appreciated, so i could chill out and watch the sunset and put on thier house tunes which stream on the rooms TV. The bed was Four Season level comforable and the room was an overall vibe and Great size. Big wet room with shower and bath, the vanity and private toilette over the hall. I was able to flash my room card to gain entry to Le Bain which is ultimatly the first reason i wanted to stay, knowing there was going to be pride parties, i wanted to relive my hay days in nyc without the headache of lining up. It was worth it for the nostalgia.

Whilst the hotel is still arcitectually delicious, the luster is wearing off as it is showing signs of ageing. I had maintence come on twice to fix a leaking tap, and reported my door didnt close shut, it had to be accompanied. The bathrooms could use a regrout for a freshen up. The wardrobe space looked exhausted, which brings me to my next point. For an international traveller, the storage was abismal. Staying a week made it hard to live in the space. Whilst i understand the 'minimalism' of it all, i would have loved some drawers for my intimate ware and more hangers (yes i could have requested those in hinds sight). there is shelving but its so hard to reach so its pretty much useless. Luckily the room i was upgraded to had a table and bench seating. i ended up using all that space for clothing storage. (yes im an unpacker, i dont like living out of a suitcase).

We stayed in two rooms, for two nights. We couldn’t sleep the first night because the ventilation system was making a lot of noise ( room 417). The hotel was full that night and the issue couldn’t be solved by maintenance. We were upgraded the following day, but the AC in the new room (712) couldn’t be turned off and the hot water run out while we where showering.

The location is excellent, lots of bars and restaurants nearby and close to the subway. The staff at reception were incredibly friendly and our room was very comfortable with views out over the Hudson. We had a rate which included breakfast which we enjoyed. Happy hour cocktails in the Standard Grille were great.

There was no coffee in the room - you could get one from the Grille downstairs but we would have preferred being able to make our own in the room.

Architecture & vibe

The views above the 9th floor are great. Staff were friendly and nice. They allowed for early check in and extended checkout without any fuss.

The price on the room service menu was a little high considering the portion sizes you get for the food.

Lovely hotel, with good quality rooms compared to other 4 star hotels we have stayed at in NY. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Great location, and easy to grab super good food at the Standard Grill downstairs. Gym although a bit small, has the necessary equipment and amazing views.

We first got upgraded to 15th floor, and because of the party on the rooftop, it was like sleeping inside a night club. Thankfully when we asked the reception to move to a lower room the next day, they were very accommodating. We ended up on 11th floor with less nice view, but it was quiet, the room was nicer and king bed instead of the queen bed in the first room. Plumbing issue with the shower, made it flood over quite quickly.

The night club on the top floor of the building is popular and noisy. If you are planning on getting a good night's sleep during your stay make sure to request a room on one of the lower floors. My room was on the 15th floor and at times the noise was still audible.

Room was a bit tired. Various aspects looked like they needed a touch up - paint work and chipped bath etc. also toilet smelt really bad but as it was depredate from the rest of the bathroom you could close the door on it.

After traveling through four major cities and spending over 40 hours in the air within just 7 days, arriving at the hotel could have been just another check-in. But Alexis at the front desk and Jonny the bellboy transformed that moment into something special. Their warm welcome, proactive help in accommodating room changes, assisting with luggage, and overall attentiveness significantly elevated my experience. Their genuine care made a real difference.

Bed was a little low to the ground and the room was small. And the hallway to elevators was dark as night you could barely see.

I really liked the location — it’s close to charming neighborhoods and has easy access to public transportation. he room design is beautiful and high-quality. The Standard Grill restaurant is an excellent option for breakfast — great food and atmosphere.

There were a few things I didn’t like. The attitude of the front desk staff upon check-in wasn’t the most welcoming. The bathroom lacked some of the amenities you would typically expect from a hotel in this category — for example, basic toiletries. The air conditioning in the hallways was extremely strong, making the common areas uncomfortably cold. I stayed for four nights, but water bottles — which are supposed to be included — were not provided every day. Lastly, the noise from the rooftop club can be heard throughout the night, which may disrupt sleep if you’re sensitive to sound.

The location is brilliant, relaxed, informal and a real retreat from the rest of NYC. Don’t forget to venture down to the West Village in the evening. Extremely comfortable bedroom (deluxe king) and lovely to have a comfy seating area to enjoy the view & some takeaway breakfast

The room could have been better equipped. No tea/coffee making facilities, only 2 hooks for towels and coats etc. wardrobe space very small of staying for more than a night or so

The room can get very dusty because of the carpets. Cleaning could be better.

We stayed on the 14th floor but could hear the club at Le Bain which is on the 17th floor. It wasn’t enough to disrupt our stay.

LOVED: Such an amazing location, right by the Whitney and Highline; nice restaurants, especially the Biergarten; and a lot more room than you expect in a NY hotel room! COULD IMPROVE: It would be nice to have more than four hangars; if you have any mobility issues you should know that the bed is really low and the tub wall is really high. If you are modest, know that the clear shower glass wall separates the bed from the bathroom.

The location is great and the view from our room across the Hudson to New York was stunning. Reception staff were welcoming.

Food and drink is very expensive. Our bed was quite small and not the most comfortable. The bathroom is open plan to the bedroom with a blind which doesn’t give complete privacy. On the Saturday night there was noise from a bar until 3 or 4 am

I called to get an upgrade on my room’s view and the staff member gave me a free upgrade. The view was magnificent The staff was very helpful. I would like to mention Dave —the bellman/ concierge. He was kind attentive and helpful. I do like the 12 pm check out

Though I loved the room I did not like the shower- lack of privacy short glass wall increase risk for flooding. The water closet was definitely a “closet “. Very small The complimentary coffee and tea service was only from 5am- 7 am. This is early for a weekend

The room was clean and bright and the bed was very comfortable. The location was excellent.

Having the shower within the bedroom was strange and didn’t allow for privacy. There was too little wardrobe space. The cabinet full of sweets and crisps was unnecessary.

the best location in NYC in my opinion on the highline in the meatpacking district. Greta restaurants nearby . The Whitney Museum is just around the corner. Chelase Art Galleries are near by as well.

1. toliet bowl brushes are needed in each bathroom 2. I have been staying at this hotel for many years now and should be given an upgrade automatically. 3 I loved everything else
