Hotel The Standard High Line, New York

Great location and view. Central spot in Meatpacking district. Rooftop bar has amazing sunset views.

Nightclub noise was very loud and I had to change my room due to noise level which dampened the experience as I had to move to a lesser view.

I liked the location. I lived in that neighborhood in New York’s bad old days. Now it’s a wealthy persons playground. While some people may find that disappointing because it makes the city less accessible to ordinary people, the changes are pretty stupendous. Little island is a feat of engineering. The high line never fails to disappoint, and in some parts of the neighborhood., you would seat you were in Paris.

Great location, easy access to key areas of the city. The staff was helpful and allowed a room change due to noise when availability allowed. The gym is well-equipped and offers a great view. Room views were truly impressive.

Some rooms are noisy due to nearby clubs. The rooms are small and not worth the high price, even though they are functional. I had difficulties with deposit payments and refunds, as the email communication was slow and unclear.

The location was fantastic and the rooms were a good size for NYC.

The rooms could use a face lift/paint job.

Bar was closed on level 18. Had to leave the hotel to get to the rooftop bar on the weekend which seemed silly.

The location is exceptional!!! The bed was super comfortable and I asked for a quiet room which was provided.

This is minor but for someone traveling with a jet lag it would have been nice to have a coffee machine or kettle for tea in the room. A curtain for the shower for some privacy would have appreciated.

Not the best maintained. Staff felt like they were not happy to be there. And how can a room not have any kind of dresser?

Excellent hotel in the Meatpacking District, straddling The High Line. The rooms were big for New York and the staff were friendly. Excellent breakfast.

The location and the funky / fun factor of the hotel, it's clients and its INCREDIBLE rooftop! For an additional 100$, we were placed in room 823 which is really stunning!

Location was great. Access to walk the High Line was close by. Hotel was very clean and comfortable. The view from the room was amazing with the floor to ceiling windows

Bathroom. Didn’t mind the openness of the bathroom but a door would have been nice.

They need to check the batteries on their as ours started beeping every 30 seconds at 4am and the phone was dead so we couldn’t call down to report the issue!!! 😡

The location is Perfect

The room design is not super conviennent. Small Bath room and very Basic Closet, I would actually not even call it a closet. We ended up dispatching our clothes around the bank and dining table.

The hotel's location is fantastic. There are many places to visit just around the corner. The rooms are ina modern style. The Standard restaurants/food is delicious.

You can see the shower/bath from the bedroom. Hotel provides a curtain if needed. Not a lot of space to store luggage.

They were a lovely last minute book. My last hotel didn't inform people the AC was out. Check in was smooth, easy, quick. They gave me a great room with view of the river. It was my second stay here and they have the quietest rooms I have ever stayed in NYC. I haven't used any of the amenities but have heard good things about gym and rooftop. I also love the local and unique mini bar.

Not much, the only thing is since the soaps and lotions are in refill bottles now, if there is one that is not used often, it's not replaced. I went to use the lotion, but after spreading it on realized it had that old, melted plastic smell. So I had to shower off again to get the smell off.

Comfortable bed, great views, absolutely wonderful location. The staff was friendly and nice.

Manhattan hotels have a thing against privacy when it comes to the bathrooms— if you’re showering and another person is staying with you there’s no way to cover up because there’s only clear glass between the shower and bed.

Personally one of my favourite hotels because of the view it has, and the location isn't bad! its right on the highland for a great walk! the staff are super helpful there too! may room was good, but I have stayed in the larger room which was absolutely amazing! personally I pay for the view is can wake up to, the sea and the city

its a little on the expensive side, but its also New York so I can't complain, you pay for what you get. not much to complain about. the lift was faulty one day, had to wait a little for that!

The views are absolutely stunning from the Studio suite overlooking Little Island.

There was an odor of weed coming in through the air vents that made it unenjoyable.

problem with lifts, no place for our clothes or suitcases, not amazed with food at the mexican restaurant. Some of the staff could have some more energy.

it's just a cool building. great design - architecture, orientation, interior designs. the staff were excellent. it was a little noisy from the bar below, but it's NY man. we loved our stay.

The room was on a high floor and the club is on the top floor, the music noise and the bass was very loud and annoying. The room was also freezing cold when I arrived, it took hours to bring it back to a normal temperature.

Great location, great views, great room - the lobby space and hallways could be updated with how much you are paying.

The hotel is getting old. Furniture in the room is looking old and chipped. The shower is older and there is. It door to close the shower….

The view was amazing! And it was convenient location in Chelsea area we enjoyed walking around and shopping.

There was no door in the bathroom in spite of only a rain shower from the ceiling; it caused water splash outside and it got wet in the room.

It's a nice hotel but could use some sprucing up, especially given the room rates.

TV didn’t work, often no warm water, stuff forgot several times to refresh the water, loud club above the rooms

Hotel is at a nice location by the Hudson River, as of writing this it is definitely "new" and "cool". Rooms are modern and clean, with a fairly spacious bathroom and tub.

Note that there is a club above the hotel which is audible for some rooms late at night.

Staff was great, welcoming and friendly. Room was clean, great view. Amenities excellent as usual

plumbing is not up to standard... needs upgrade... shower in bathtub not convenient and hot/cold water regulating very difficult... toilet seat does not match bowl size... details but it can matter

The location and views are the best selling points for the hotel. It’s also very urban and cool, with cool crowds. In the rooms I found the bed and bedding incredibly comfortable.

For a work stay small things like lighting in the room/bathroom, no door to bathroom, lack of kettle /coffee, no breakfast were practical details that were missing for the price point. Also some nights very loud parties on rooftop which could impact some light sleepers (earbuds provided).

Thanks for a great stay! We loved the room but wanted to let you know that the shower drain seemed very slow, and probably needs to be cleared.

The staff was nice and helpful. The location is great. Hotel bar and restaurants fund and good to hang out in.

The room was a little old. Design outdated. In the morning, when I assume there were a lot of guests taking showers, there were no hot water. Shades didn't cover enough so the room couldn't be dark in the morning which made it hard to sleep.

The design of the room and the comfy beds are the reason why I would be back. Location was also great as just minutes from Chelsea Market and also reasonable "long" walk to canal St area which is one of my faves.

The only thing I wasn't extremely keen on were the rooftop bar, Le Bain, I missed a place more like the Boom Boom Room in order to have a nice drink during the sunset or after dinner. Le Bain didn't meet my expectations sadly.

Location: the Meatpacking hits the sweet spot, quiet but very central, within 15min walking distance from Chelsea or West Village. Room: we loved the interior design and views to the Hudson river and Little Island. Also the size is quite good for Manhattan. Bonus point for runners: right in front of the Hudson riverfront park and above the High Line. On the off days make sure to check the gym (best views in the hotel!)

Music at the rooftop club was loud on weekend nights (we could hear it from our room 4 floors down).

The view! The bathtub was also amazing. We had fun at Standard grill happy hour. Staff was very helpful. Location was great, but very crowded with tourist (like us) taking advantage of the holiday weekend.

The night club music made rooms above 10th floor less than ideal for sleeping. Maybe an investment in more insulation? Staff relocated us, thankfully. They must have to deal with this daily. Would have liked a coffee maker in the room.

I booked the room with the Hudson river view and it did not disappoint. The Standard is my go-to hotel when I'm on holiday and the Highline did not disappoint. The room was exceptionally clean, had a well equipped gym with great views. The rooftop access was a bit overwhelming and you're competing with the public to get a space, so we didn't end up going though I'm sure it was spectacular. The front of house were friendly and welcoming. I've stayed in a number of Standard hotels and this comes in last (Bangkok remains absolutely above and beyond them all, closely followed by Ibiza (mainly for the wonderful staff). I opted for the Highline over the East Village location as the latter looks dated but I do prefer that location. Would I stay here again? Probably not as New York has many cool hotels (Ace, Hoxton) that I'd like to try. But I definitely recommend this hotel.

I forgot how boring Chelsea is.

Nice room, comfortable bed, good views. Very good location, easy to walk to lots of sights/areas plus not far from a subway station.

You could hear the club on some nights - we had read reviews about this and didn’t think it would bother us, but it was pretty loud! They advertise the gym as having Peloton bikes but they weren’t there during our stay…

There were very few facilities available for hotel guests, just one small bar at reception For the price I would have expected more, our key card said there was a jazz club in the top bar, the receptionist had no clue what we were talking about when we asked her about this and it didn’t exist anyway
