It was totally quiet..and oasis in the heart of it all

My room could have been cleaner!

Great location, great atmosphere

It is centrally located on bourbon. It was surprisingly quiet in the rooms, even though it was in a very busy location.

Outside of valet, the service was very slow with respect to housekeeping and the restaurants. The restaurant was significantly understaffed. The coffee shop was out of pastries by 8:30 in the morning. It would take over an hour what multiple phone calls for housekeeping to assist you.

Love the French Quarter and the food!

Toilet paper is like wrapping paper tissue, too thin and mounted behind the toilet.

Location was great. Staff was lovely. Very comfortable and clean.

Because it's on Boorbon driving in was a little difficult.

Good location in the French quarter. Ideal if you want to experience the nightlife. Hotel usually has blues music acts each evening.

Hotel room facilities seem alittle dated. Breakfast is expensive. Staff didn't inform us about the facilities when we first checked in. I.e. which floor swimming pool is on.

The room was wonderful but we assume the fact we booked it through a third party resulted in our being placed in a room overlooking roofs of adjoining buildings in overgrown alleys. This occurred with a previous stay at your property and we asked to be moved and that was accommodated; however, we just didn't have the energy for it this second stay. I would not advise anyone booking through another site to do so when staying at the Sonesta NO. We were clearly remiss in not specifically asking for a room with a courtyard or pool view. The room was very convenient to elevators, which was a blessing given one of us has severe leg/hip pain. There was excessive noise one night with the couple in the adjoining room to us having a loud argument with profanity that continued from 10pm to 4am. They were clearly intoxicated and experiencing a domestic dispute that was bordering on violence. Otherwise, the room was quiet, comfortable, kept immaculately clean by housekeeping, and well appointed.

When we left and our car was returned by valet parking we noticed a stain on the windshield, we assumed was due to bird droppings; however, when getting gas later we discovered this stain could not be removed with water, scrubbing, or glass cleaner we brought with us. It became clear it was a deposit from a leaking pipe or concrete that had calcified not only on the windshield but the right rear window. We bought adhesive remover, consulted with an auto service sales desk and while have been able to almost remove this residue stain but it is still visible and a distraction. This did not occur until after we returned the car from a day trip to Grand Isle and our departure date, so it clearly happened afterwards since it was not there on our return. It is possible there is a leaking pipe in the parking deck that caused this damage, which I experienced a work parking deck many years ago and caused thousands of dollars in damage to multiple vehicles of co-workers. When we returned our car, the valet asked if we intended to use our vehicle again and we said no and he told us that in that case he would be putting it in a different location since we would not be using it. We both seem to recall that he said he would be putting in a lower level, if that helps to target a parking area to check for preventing future incidents.

The court yard area restrooms could do with being refurbished. Had a cock roach run across the floor while using the toilets.

First is the customer service,which plays a big part from the start. Royal Sonesta try’s very hard to accommodate their guest with their needs.

There was both that I didn’t like.

The location and the rooms were a good size. However description and picture about covered balcony did not match what was on site.

It’s located on bourbon Street so definitely hard to sleep

Location , middle of Bourbon street about a mile walk to French market. The food at onsite restaurant Revolution was delicious and the bar staff there was amazing.

There was no warning about how the onsite bar - LaBooze was closed for renovations. The onsite restaurants were over priced compared to others. Having a resort fee when theres nothing there to have the need for the extra fee and the taxes are ridiculous.

Location & Amenities

It is getting a little worn looking. The style is fine for the hotel but there needs to be some updating.

It was full of old school charm and the staff was magnificent.

The shower leaked on to the carpet in the bedroom and nothing was done to fix it. It was not a small leak it was huge

Jazz club pool location

Cleanliness, views, staff, amenities. Even with everything thing going on that weekend in town, the staff made us feel just as important and seen as everyone else. Love this establishment!

Outside noise but we knew to expect that.

Most of the staff were great, Malcolm was stand out from when we checked-in to when we departed. Nightly Jazz bar excellent. Nice pool area Well located for Bourbon St and wider French Quarter. Despite the central location we had undisturbed sleep.

Our departure morning we intended to sleep in due to 12 hour drive home however the cleaning staff was slamming the doors so loud and often to other rooms we were unable to sleep. My husband had to get up several times to see what the noise was.

Nothing major, they could not get the information correct about our complimentary breakfast and voucher for the $15 I was suppose to receive for 1 day. I was told by 1 clerk, I didnt qualify. Another 1 told me I did. However, it was never rectified, because I still ended up paying out my pocket versus still being able to use my $15 credit.

The hotel was very modern and comfortable. The outside area is lovely. We also enjoyed having the restaurant Desire on site as we ate breakfast there each morning

Nothing really to dislike

I loved the location and decor. The hotel is gorgeous. I enjoyed the $15 off a day at the restaurant restaurant they have. The pool area is beautiful lots of available seating. The morning front desk staff is AMAZINGGGGGG.

The bathroom tub was dirty and had stains in it. The night staff has terrible customer service. Along with the young lady who worked in the jazz bar. The lounge chairs by the pool had no umbrellas. If you wanted shade, you had to sit at a table.

No free breakfast. Get a 15 dollar credit that does not cover much and cannot use on the day you checkout. Room was not soundproof. Had to listen to street music until early morning.

Hotel was beautiful. Close to attractions. Staff was professional and courteous.

Clothes got soaked due to rain. Wish there was a washer and dryer on the premises. Also a microwave.

Mattresses were too worn out and not comfortable at all Pool deck was too slick with the use of red smooth brick, I actually slipped and scrapped my leg from knee to ankle as I fell into the pool. Shower tub floor also too slick no traction pads I went down very hard No wasn’t drunk as I don’t drink

Royal Sonesta is in the heart of bourbon street. The hotel has nice rooms and a pool.

It was quiet. The pool was conveniently located. The ladies at the front desk were very sweet . We checked out a little early and wanted to grab breakfast across the street. The young lady at the front desk offered to keep our bags so we wouldn’t have to drag them over. The doorman, Caleb was extremely personable. I know we were pretty quiet low key guests, but we did enjoy his flare 🙂. I love that he acknowledged us every time without hesitation.

It felt like jumping through hoops to get anything accomplished prior to getting there. This was our honeymoon and I wanted to try and make it a little special for my husband but any time I called to inquire about anything I got bounced around. I don’t blame the staff at this location though. It seems this particular hotel chain has a different set of standards than the big names like IHG or Radisson.

Room was smaller than I expected. And the bathroom was very small

stuff on front desk is very good and very bad – depends on the day.. Unfortunately, we checked in with not so good stuff and checked out. But day in the middle, they were great. So do you feel lucky?

Lovely hotel in excellent location with friendly,helpful staff. The outdoor pool and terrace was great to relax away from the busy street. Easy to walk to Jackson square to join the sightseeing tours and views of the Mississippi.

Beautiful hotel - beautiful courtyard - great location!

Beautiful lobby and facilities. The balcony to the courtyard was nice and the room was quiet even though we were right on bourbon st. All of the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Bed wasn’t comfortable and the room was dated.

The receptionist said she added us to the early check in list when we arrived at 8 am - we found out at 2pm she had not so hot, tired and jet lagged we missed early check in that others got trust and competence out of the window immediately. Luckily rest is great so helped counterbalance her (either) lying or incompetence.
