Location, staff, service and decor. It’s a fantastic hotel with real atmosphere, amazing staff and great food and facilities. I plan on coming back again

I like everything about this hotel. Maybe upgrade the TV’s to Smart TV’s

The location was excellent. Right around the corner from Bourbon St and walking distance to Canal St. Bed was comfortable and the staff were very polite. The restaurant on-site was fantastic.

The late night room service was a bit expensive but the food was nice.

I loved this hotel. It was everything I hoped for... stylish, elegant with the wonderful atmosphere of yesteryear. The Carousel bar was busy but we did manage to secure a seat for a drink or two as it circled. And it is really convenient for anything in the French Quarter.

The pool was a bit murky and tired but that is a small grumble. Everything else was wonderful.

A Magical Overnight Stay – Wish We Had More Time! We stayed just one night at this stunning hotel estate in New Orleans, and it absolutely exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive – truly some of the best service we’ve ever experienced. The rooms were beautifully appointed, blending charm and elegance with comfort and luxury. Every detail felt thoughtful, and it made for a genuinely relaxing stay. One of the absolute highlights was the famous Carousel Bar – what a gem! It was such a fun and unique experience to sit at the rotating bar, sipping on expertly made cocktails. The vibe was pure New Orleans magic – lively, elegant, and a little whimsical. We also made our way to the rooftop pool terrace, which was equally impressive. The view, the atmosphere, the small bar up there – it was the perfect spot to enjoy a refreshing mimosa and soak in the city’s energy. Even though we were only there for a night, everything about this hotel felt ideal. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to extend your stay. We’ll absolutely be back – next time, for longer!

Beds were comfortable. Shower pressure was excellent. View was nice of the French Quarter. Room service was quick and delicious. The valet was quick and easy on arrival. Check in & out were simple. Everyone we encountered in the hotel was so nice and professional.

Ate only one meal in hotel. French fries were great! Staff at front desk was well trained & efficient. The bellman, Michael, was one of the best I’ve seen - a real treasure.

Nothing I didn’t like. It is a beautiful, well run hotel with a well trained staff.

Location was great - easy to reach St Charles trolley. Hotel had character and comfort. visited Carousel 4 times for the music and drinks.

The history of the hotel was fun to learn about. Every staff member went out of their way to help make our trip incredible. The atmosphere and amenities were incredible. The only place I’d want to stay in New Orleans.

My stay at Hotel Monteleone was perfect. It's clean and comfortable. The service at reception and from housekeeping was superb. I also loved the Carousel Bar and Criollo restaurant right on site. It made it very convenient. The rooftop pool is also fantastic.

everything was perfect from the Carrousel Bar to the staff at the reception, housekeeping, Concierge...Personnel speaks many languages. Ms. Stacey was very helpful in arranging transport to some sites (plantations, airport...)

Closed windows in rooms that do not permit fresh air

I received an email that I could upgrade room to a view of river for small fee...paid extra for view, but didn't get any. room overlooked roof.....

Location is perfect for walking to shopping, eating, and sights!

Brilliant location, really close to the French Quarter. Historic hotel, which obviously has the famous Carousel Bar. Comfy beds and a lovely restaurant on site, and rooftop pool. We had a great time here.

The only thing I’d say is that the shower and bath area could do with an upgrade.

Sinks are designed for sparrows. The excessive charge for a two hour extra check out time is just excessive greed.

The ambiance of the hotel. The friendliness and helpfulness of the doormen. Enjoyed sitting in the bar and enjoying life. We really liked our room. Actually, the whole visit was lovely.

room was smaller than expected. one morning the room wasn't cleaned to expectations (a dirty pillow slip was left on the floor after cleaning and wash washing towels and another bath towel were not replaced). two of the lifts were out of order for around 24 hours

The hotel was in a great location, had lots of character and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It was lovely to be able to relax by the rooftop pool after a day of sightseeing. The gymnasium and Spa added to the attraction. The carousel bar was an amazing experience and a must if you are staying there. We also tried ‘Le Petit Chef’ dining experience which we would highly recommend.

The rooms were on the small side for 3 adults but had a lot of character. The pool while lovely was smaller than we envisaged and it wasn’t always possible to find somewhere to sit or relax. Even though the hotel offered a carousel bar private experience for Patrons from 10-11am it was rather expensive and hotel guests didn’t get any preferential consideration over visitors to the hotel. It took 4 nights of hovering before we actually got to enjoy the experience.

we were orginally in 1256. A standard room. It was OK. Nothing special. Felt a bit dated, but it was fine -- except it was on Royal Street -- which was very loud. Switch to 1227 in the newly renovated tower. It was amazing. Everything was wonderful. Would book this room again.

I didn't like that staying at the hotel didn't give me any advantage to get into the Carousel Bar.

Absolutely packed with people and noisy. Room decent and nice lobby, but in general, the room was overpriced. Very small bathroom, hair dryer didn’t work, ice machine didn’t work, and amenities like coffee service sub par.

We thought that the location of this hotel is perfect if you wish to visit the French Quarter. The hotel is clean comfortable and amazingly quiet at night considering it is only one block away from Bourbon Street. (Our room was on Floor 7). Room size not huge, but good enough considering location. I did not get to use the pool so cannot comment on that. Service is good and complimentary water always welcome. If visiting the French Quarter and possible wider city would definitely return. This is a great hotel but generally very busy, but then you are in the French Quarter.

The Carousel bar has pros and cons. Firstly, of course its a great bar, but on the downside it is so busy that there's often no room and if you want to sit in the hotel bar after a long day on tours, we could not find any where to go other than to find a nearby bar - of which of course there are many. But it would have been good to have a residents bar/lounge which was available for a quiet cold beer before changing and heading out for dinner.

Great hotel but in a very busy area. Waiting for half an hour for a breakfast table for hotel guests is not acceptable.

Great location, right in the heart of the French Quarter in New Orleans. The hotel is large, historic, and full of charm, with a warm atmosphere that reflects the city's rich heritage. The rooms are comfortable and the staff is very friendly and helpful. An excellent choice for anyone looking to enjoy the best of the city with style and comfort.

Because it's right in the center of the French Quarter, the area was very busy. The lobby was constantly crowded with people, both hotel guests and visitors to the bar. The room was quite noisy, with loud music coming from the street until 2 or 3 AM every night. Even staying on the 11th floor, the windows didn’t block out the noise well.

Always a fabulous stay! Earl in the garage is always a blessing and a friendly face.

Besides the fact that it was absolutely amazing? Quiet.. Comfy bed, pillows sheets everything absolutely love the fancy bathroom with the marble floors. I loved all the extra little details that has the hotel’s name on it… the only thing I did not like was that the showerhead thing you can’t put it all the way to the top and let go of it. There was no way to position it so that it could be freestanding. I wanted to be able to just stand underneath it. but that helped me decide that I don’t want one of those types of handheld showerheads in my own home so thank you for that.

The only thing I didn't like was the Carousel was too full to go into. Maybe I needed a reservation.
