Ace Hotel, New Orleans

Vibes, photo booth in hall, available amenities like restaurant and pool, quietness of room, not a lot of people on floors but very social atmosphere in lobby area, and everyone was so helpful and friendly from lobby front desk people morning and night, bartenders, cleaners, restaurant staff, and pool attendants

Very dark lightning throughout. bathroom sink area is not closed in just has curtain to close off. elevators took a while sometimes and stopped once. loved the fully stocked mini bar and fridge although i didn't use anything cuz of prices. my friend wasn't a fan of above ground pool or having to pay for round cabana-beds at pools. in the room the beds were double size, we were told the hotel didn't have any queen beds. but the rooms were big enough to fit bigger beds. the beds and pillows were kind of hard. liked that the hotel had active social scene.

I really liked the location, as well as the evening live band and entertainment in the lobby/lounge. The hotel is actually nice.

The housekeeping service was a bit slow. I requested additional towels during the first night, and never received them.

The design was beautiful. Access to the pool was great! Streetcar in front of the building was perfect! Staff at the door were very kind! I wish we had had access to a schedule of the Three Keys/Music Hall because we would have loved to take advantage of that! The music sounded incredible when we passed by. It be great if you could provide all that info at check in.

The beds were really hard and uncomfortable. Additionally, we didn’t get anyone to come to our room for trash and towels for a few days. When we went to the rooftop one night, there were towels everywhere and the bar was not open. Lack of communication about the transition from Ace to Barnett… No email or notice at check in. We arrived at The Ace before heading out to a rehearsal dinner. When we were trying to come back, The Ace website was down and it was no longer on google maps. I think it would be helpful to put menus in the rooms for room service.

Staff was phenomenal! The aesthetic of the entire hotel is amazing, very cool vibes! We did not hear noise from others in our room during our stay. The hang out area by the pool is great, the many misters kept us cool on 95 "feels like 103" days. The drinks at the lobby bar and pool bar were great. It was nice having a coffee shop on site in the morning. We did not end up eating at the inside restaurant, however it looked nice and always had people dining. We loved the location of the hotel, the area felt safe and the bar Marilou next door was awesome for our group!

The two biggest complaints during our stay was the elevator and pool. There was only one, very slow, elevator in service during our stay which was frustrating and added a lot of additional time during our stay. The pool was dirty while we were there with hair, bugs, and debris floating by. The water was too cloudy to see the bottom and I stepped on "mystery items" twice. The pool is smaller and people drink in it, I can see how it would be hard to keep clean, but it seemed like there was no filter running at all? We specifically booked Ace because we planned on hanging out at the pool for a full day during our stay but after a few minutes in the pool decided that was not an option. The room was cute, shower was cool. Additional blankets would have been nice, it was essentially a lot of sheets piled on top of each other on the bed and I got cold at night. The floor is older and looked/felt dirty.

Everything, especially the pool! Restaurant was great, also coffee spot. Courteous staff, gym was clean. Location a winner.

Room needed a little more. Basic room has no real seating, requested an extra cover which didn't arrive, noisy refrigerator by the bed. Wish they'd stop during in the lobby.

Spacious room. Cotton bed sheets. Nice smelling toiletries. Both downstairs bar & restaurant areas were nice. Rooftop nice. Walking distance to quite a few nice restaurants.

This place has great hardware, but service / software needs some TLC. Housekeeping wanted to clean room at odd times - around 5 pm on both days. We’d been out all day and were readying for going out that night, so neither day worked which meant the room wasn’t tidied. Room Curtain can no longer close fully as broken. For us, the rooftop was the big draw, but on a quiet Monday evening around 6pm, there was only one staff member ‘on duty’, and despite only a handful of people, no one bothered tidying, so lots of dirty cups and used cutlery and plates left from earlier in the day. And the fires weren’t lit on rooftop, so overall not a welcoming area to hang out in, despite it supposed to being open till 9PM.

The hotel is a boutique hotel which I prefer. Location in the CBD works for me.

The rooms are dark. It's a vibe, but not a vibe I prefer. They remedied this by giving my brother and I a corner room that had windows all around it. Unfortunately those rooms don't have two beds so they gave us roll away. HOWEVER, they charged us for the roll away! Now, that would not normally be a problem, HOWEVER, when I made the booking I was VERY clear that I wanted a corner room with a lot of light as I know the rooms are dark and we had to have two beds in the room. I turns out they have zero corner rooms with two beds and I was not told that when I made the booking in the first place.

The aesthetics of the hotel was beautiful! The staff was nice as well

The cleanliness of the room

The property was very well located in regards to the French Quarter and other tourist areas. There are also restaurants and coffee places nearby. Of course the restaurant connected to the hotel is fantastic. I also like that the property seem to be ingratiated with events from people in the community, you could see that people knew about the place, especially those who are not tourist. The property leaned to me to be more of a vibe for folks in their late 20s, 30s and even up to mid 40s as far as the Events in the bar area and on the rooftop. so definitely millennials or a little older than that, but I thought it was the perfect fit for that kind of crowd. Also something to be noted: we arrived very late to the hotel. It was almost midnight so I called the hotel a few hours ahead of time while I was boarding my flight to let them know that It wouldmt be late and they quickly told me that wouldn’t be a problem. They sent me an email link to early check-in so I would just be able to quickly Show my ID and get my room key right away and it all worked out perfectly so I was thankful for that.

we stayed in was a king bed (I personally thought the bed was pretty comfortable). These are nitpicky things, but the walls are dark and it was hard to locate the light switches in the room also because the ceilings are so tall I almost wish that they would have lighter paint to make the room seem a little more, but I understand that the vibe of the hotel is like a voodoo-y dark vibe.

Overall decent but having recently stayed in the Ace Hotel in Kyoto (which was an outstanding experience), we came with high expectations that in the end did not quite measure up.. location and overall decor of the hotel were great and the rooftop pool is fantastic

Most uncomfortable of our entire stay, very hard. No coffee in the room which is not the usual 4 star standard. Last but not least - the staff were professional but seemed very disinterested, received a rather cool welcome and this theme continued throughout our stay with every interaction with the hotel staff.

Dark, strange rooms w cold tile floors. First room right next to the elevator and very noisy, terrible water pressure. Then moved to a better room, but still dark.

The lobby and bar were compfort and spacieuse, bar is well equipped and the coffee is excelent

No coffee machine or even a drip coffee with hot water in the room. A major disadvantage. The hotel prefer that the guests will use the bar downstairs

The common areas - lobby, bar, rooftop were quite stylish and pleasant. The location was great, easy to get to a lot of restaurants.

Weekend stays are far too expensive for what you get. We had a loud fridge right next to our bed, which was incredibly noisy. There was nowhere to lodge suitcases, and the offered tools, like the hairdryer were in quite bad shape. It misses the nicer touches one would expect for the price range.

The best place to stay in New Orleans. walk everywhere and or jump on the street car nearby. perfect.

Decor, ambience and staff were great! Lovage coffee bar and restaurant attached to property were both very enjoyable.

Bathroom layout could be improved with shelves in shower for personal gear, like razor, shampoo, etc. Streetcar noise was a little disturbing.

Great location for Mardi Gras, all parades pass one block from the hotel. Nice rooftop with swimming pool and bar. Good breakfast.

The rooftop and pool was great. Staff were all lovely. All the public areas were beautiful.

The rooms were too dark and underwhelming compared to the rest of the property.

Loved the communal areas, the bar, entertainment area and pool side were great. The best bit is the free jazz and poetry evenings.

Very noisy at night as there are live shows downstairs, we could hear it clearly from our room on the 4th floor. Rooftop pool is very small and not many chairs.

Slick and cool. Huge bedroom with a huge bed, full sized fridge and large walk in shower. Great location, it’s not in the hustle and bustle of the main streets, but easy to walk or Uber and there some amazing food options near this location eg Willa Jean for brunch

The things we didn’t like were minimal. I feel like it’s a bit overpriced, the room was incredibly dark and because it was so big, it felt quite empty and not very welcoming. Like I said, mostly minor things!

The beds weren’t great. The blankets felt like paper but the pillows were nice. Plus there was only one hard chair to sit on so nowhere to chill while in the room.

The Ace has style and attacks that vibe. Love that the hotel coffee shop and restaurants are great — always a perfect plan b.

The first room we were given was right against an industrial AC unit — loud white noise all the time. I sometimes wonder if booking on booking.com inspires hotels to give you worse rooms because the hotel isn’t making as much money.

Location, aesthetic

The soaps and shampoos were empty. The staff walked right in as I was in the shower, you could clearly hear the shower. We noted we were coming there for our anniversary, disappointed to see that the basic amenities weren’t restocked.

Loved all the common spaces and the vibe of the hotel. The pool was clean, the bar was quick with drinks, and the cushions were so smart with how hot the stone got! The plants made the space beautiful and from a conservationist standpoint, is a fantastic way to help cities fight climate change.

Our toilet wouldn't flush completely unless you held the handle down until the flush was complete, the beds were not all that comfortable, and the AC did not get the room as cool and we hoped for.

Beautiful design hotel with generous rooms and a great outlook. Location is out of the tourist hub but in close walking distance. Amenities on site with restaurant, bar, cafe and pool are great. We didn’t get to eat at the restaurant as they had a very limited menu the day we tried to go. People were lovely.

This hotel is out of the tourist hub, in the business district so can feel unnerving walking the streets that feel very unfamiliar. The hotel takes a hold on your card of 200USD for incidentals. This is fine however we weren’t told so we were shocked to see we had been charged more than our booking. In future I would advise the hotel to tell people this when checking in. With the price and level of this hotel, I would expect a breakfast offering to be included.

Location was great and quiet. Hotel lobby and bar were lovely. Staff was very friendly and tried to help.

Rooms were school like. No carpets on floors, curtains to close bathroom sink area. Room temperature would not go below 72 degrees. Asked for towels every day several times before they came to the room. Pool was super overcrowded to accommodate locals so you couldn’t use if you were a guest at the hotel.

The Ace Hotel was a trip saver after we’d booked another hotel in a different part of town, which was a nightmare. After cancelling our other hotel, we arrived at Ace in the morning expecting to have to waiting around for check-in but our room was ready and we’d been given an upgrade (much needed after no sleep at the previous place!). The staff were amazing, organised and recommended a lot for us to do. The hotel is beautiful and great facilities, beautiful rooms too, air con worked great (I’d seen some other reviews complaining about this) and we stayed in the July heatwave! Thanks Ace :)

Sadly the hotel didn’t inform us that the rooftop pool was closed on our last full day (it was too hot to be walking downtown!) but they did make up for this with a comp late checkout to make use of the pool the following morning though!

Great location, beautiful rooftop and pool, the restaurant and bar are very lively and delicious. I’d recommend it to anyone to stay here.

Super cool hotel vibe.

The vibe at the Ace hotel was comfortable, and friendly, and funky. I loved it. My friends who stayed at a big box hotel were so jealous I was at The Ace! All of the Lyft drivers I rode with all weekend raved about the Ace and thought it was cool I was staying there. It has a great reputation amongst the locals as a wonderful place to stay. The roof top bar and pool are beautiful and the staff couldn't be nicer more accommodating or welcoming. Ooh, and the bartender makes a delicious Sazerac!

Two of the three elevators weren't working, but even that wasn't enough to spoil my stay!

Centrally located. Comfortable and very large room. Fun lobby. Great food options. Friendly staff. Lots of evening events which I checked out quickly but then when I went up to my room which faced the street entrance, I didn’t hear a thing.

Room cramped and pool was too crowded by allowing non guests to use pool. We weren’t able to use pool on first day due too crowded.

Our room was very nice, very New Orleans. The pool, fitness center and lounge/bar area was lovely. I’m happy we didn’t stay in the French quarter.

Provide better information of where things are located. Maybe something printed in the room for reference and that bag storage is available.

We stay at the Ace semi regularly. We choose it for many reasons. The staff is phenomenal! The location is great. The pool is great. The lobby bar is great! Their coffee shop is great! and they love our dog- we have a Corso and they all treat him like he’s a friend lol.

we thought the rooms could have been colder. It is 90+ though, so I understand there is only so much cooling that can happen.

wish you didn't have to wait for the coffee shop to open to get a cup of coffee. could/should have been supplied in the lobby.
