This is an extremely special hotel to stay in especially with all its history. Rooms are perfect and the staff and service are some of the best I've ever experienced. Pool and garden area is beautiful. The staff even went out of their way to accommodate my request for takeaway pancakes when I missed breakfast on my first morning and left too early for it on departure, room service delivered a beautiful box of freshly made pancakes to my room at 6:30 which was really appreciated. For a 5 star hotel the room prices are fair. Staying here is a must!

Was not easy to walk in and out of for some reason there is no pavement which is a bit irritating. At some point during renovations they've made a complete hash of replacing the windows which is a real shame considering the history of the building. Drinks and food are very expensive and the beer choice is lacking.

We recently celebrated my dad’s birthday at The Taj Mahal Palace, Mumbai, and the entire experience was nothing short of unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and went out of their way to make the occasion special. The team had thoughtfully arranged a beautiful birthday setup, paying attention to even the smallest details. The decorations were elegant, the ambience was warm, and everything felt perfectly personalized for our family. What truly stood out was how attentive and caring the staff were and made sure he felt celebrated throughout the evening. The food was exceptional, with every dish beautifully presented and full of flavor. The service was seamless, professional, and incredibly warm without ever feeling intrusive. One of the most touching moments was when the staff surprised my dad with a birthday cake and heartfelt wishes, which made the celebration even more memorable for all of us. The combination of luxury, hospitality, and genuine kindness is what makes this place truly special. My dad left with a huge smile, and as a family we created memories we will cherish forever. Thank you to the entire team especially Shifabano for turning a simple birthday celebration into such a meaningful and joyful day. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion in a truly grand and thoughtful way.

The breakfast room has great views looking straight onto the Gateway to India, and you can sit and just watch people go by, the breakfast had a good choice, with the chefs available to cook any breakfast requested. The room had great views from the x3 large double windows to the sea and front promenade, and surprisingly quiet. We had a nice lunch around the pool area, which is a fantastic addition, with the humidity and heat. The staff were on hand to help in any matter and were always approachable. We would recommend the hotel tour, the history and events.

This was my returning stay at Taj Palace, I prefer the Palace Wing with old charm. The hotel was packed and weekends was like Grand Central Station. Security was very tight. Still, service was fine. Staff were quite gracious. Loved the details of rose petals on the floor to welcome you back etc etc

They burn strong incense or whatever perfumes all around and I think it should be lessened. Scents were too strong. Food at the Sea Lounge was so so. Pastas were overladened with thick cream/cheese. Sometimes, when guests are tired, they may just want a good chicken soup with vegetables or a Minestrone. Menus should be revised.

This is deservedly a legendary hotel. Beautiful vintage appeal inside, but also modernised so it genuinely feels luxurious. Room was beautiful and extremely comfortable, even though we probably picked the smallest one! Breakfast room felt luxurious and elegant, though service was inconsistent here across the days. The pool area is stunning and genuinely relaxing. Staff couldn't do enough for you. Views of India gate and access to the city by car / uber all excellent, although it can get pretty chaotic at the entrance if it's busy due to security.

I expected it to be expensive, but occasionally even I raised an eyebrow at some of the prices in the bar! Also we were emailed afterwards with offers to contact them if we needed anything, but replies to this have gone unanswered. Maybe once you leave you're forgotten!

Purly organised staff. Prior to my arrival to the hotel I have comunicated with hotel reservation office regarding the araingment of our transfer from the airport to hotel. 4 diferent people with different e-mail adresses were sending me mails not knowing about prior corespodence. Finally I have received the transfer confirmation 1 day prior to arrival date after I have sent several mails to all this adresses including general manager. Also inspite of luxury car which was defined for the transfer to the airport we were transferd by a realy small car.

Food wxcellent. Taj Palace is one of Mumbai’s landmarks. It is part of all tours. No need for city tour if u are staying at Taj. It IS the city (at least from a tourist point of view). Walking outside is an experience in itself. Perfectly safe but the traffic and noise can be overwhelming. But do go out and watch how locals manoeuvre crossing traffic. Then fo out and practice!

Their web access to the concierge and spa prior to arriving coukd be better. Efforts at reaching the hotel directly or the concierge prior to visiting totally failed.

Staying at the Taj Palace is truly a memorable experience.Its not just a hotel,it is a piece of history .It is truly an unforgettable experience to stay at the hotel.The hospitality of the staff is beyond anything I have experienced before.The heritage walk is definitely one of my favourites.Mr.Prabhakar was very a very proud Taj historian who walked us through the 122 years of this iconic hotels existence. I thank all the staff who made our stay so special.They also made a surprise arrangement of cake ,ballons and flowers in our room for our anniversary. We would love to come back again some day .

Excellent Sea lounge restaurant and chefs there. They are exceptional and I had some of the best food I have eaten around the world. Chef Ragiv and team are special. Housekeeping are exceptional - Rajindra and team not only clean the room but go above and beyond in their roles. The hotel ambience, look and feel and service overall is exceptional. This is a true 5* hotel!

Check in could have been smoother. There are instances where you are looked down on if you do not look or dress a certain way. In my case my pass was checked constantly. Bad checkout process - it took 33 minutes to collect our luggage and we nearly got late getting to the airport. The gym - while excellent in facilities, the machines were not cleaned down after use, even after I asked for cleaning wipes which I was not given. Food in the Souk was not the best quality in comparison to the sea lounge.

Just before our arrival, we upgraded our room to a club room. On arrival however we were told that no alcohol was available anywhere in the hotel (due to local elections) for the 3 days of our stay. If we had been advised of this when we upgraded our room, we would likely not have upgraded our room.

The atmosphere throughout the hotel was peaceful and elegant, and the breakfast view was simply stunning. Enjoying such a delicious spread with that view truly made us feel like royalty. A huge thank you to the brilliant team. I accidentally left my sweater behind in the room, and the staff not only found it but shipped it to me safely. Their attention to detail and kindness really stood out. The rooms were spotless, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable. Everything felt luxurious. Please keep it up—your dedication is what makes this hotel exceptional. We can’t wait to come back!
