Beautiful old historic building with a lot of history. Stunning view over the sea.

Some of the service by the staff was not great. One of our rooms had a damp smell.

The welcome on arrival we were celebrating our anniversary so when we entered our room it was nicely decorated with balloons cake flowers fantastic everything went well wonderful stay

The immediate sense of grandeur and history. We had a very interesting and well presented tour around parts of the hotel, with a telling of the history of it's creation and developments

We stayed here from Dec 29 2024 to Jan 2 2025. I am writing this review soon after we reached home. This was one of our several visits to the Taj in the past few years and, incredibly, every visit tops the previous one. Often, one wants to try a new place although with the Taj, this is not the case. Somehow, it draws you back again and again. Sakshi helped check us in and stayed in touch throughout the stay. She took over all our matters as soon as we checked in. Which wasn’t easy given the hotel was at near full capacity and the pressure of new year eve preparations. We can’t thank her and Ritesh (the GM of the property) for making our family feel super special. The Taj Mahal Palace wing sets the benchmark for warmth and luxury. One has to stay here to set yourself a benchmark of what hotel stays can be like. If your travels bring you to Mumbai, stay here. Even if it is for a day. It makes life worth living!

Unable to open windows and nowhere to dry wet swim wear!

The building is amomg the most iconic ones in India; staff was super kind; swimming pool and garden area are awesome

Breakfast was poor for such an amazing hotel and the windows in the room could have been cleaned.

Amazing hotel packed full of history. Staff were discreet, professional and couldn’t do enough for us.

The bathroom we had was slightly cramped.

The staff and service are unparallelled. I greatly appreciated their attentiveness at all times and from every department. The room was quite comfortable. I particularly recommend the Heritage tour of the hotel by Percy and the eCarriage experience as well!

Was hard to sit / get a table in the Sea Lounge for breakfast but understandable due to busyness at this time of Year (December) but there was always another option provided to choose from all with great service

Beautiful setting, really attentive staff, great breakfast. The room was perfect and I enjoyed learning about the history of the hotel. It is right next to the gateway to India. The bakery is amazing, we had really good macaroons.

The area around it is quite polluted and we couldn’t get alcohol during our stay due to the election. Not the hotels fault but there was no mention of this until we tried to order drinks. The restaurants were also all booked out when we tried to book a table early in the evening. Make sure you book your dinner at check in.

I loved every aspect of my stay-from the warm welcome provided by Shivani at the front counter, to the meticulous housekeeping provided by Nitin to the amazing chai provided by Rakesh from Shamiana and Chintan from Sea Lounge-this was the most perfect holiday for us.

Everything was immaculate-there is literally nothing to dislike here!

Your central reservations system is a nightmare and a very bad experience. The systems are bad and people are plain bad - reading off from the screen. Then comes in your sales and reservations team who only made the situation worser . You got to train them to get off from the high horses and come to terms with reality . They lack basic communication skills.

Taj Mahal palace is heaven on earth. Enjoyed stay with my wife Sneha with celebration of her 50th birthday.

Lives up to the hype

If I’d booked closer to the time I’d have paid about 25% less which was disappointing. Vegan food offering/labelling could be improved on especially in high tea and cocktail hour. Can’t fault the experience though
