Zero 1 Hotel, Montreal

Location. Easy access to public transportation, walkable to the sites, close to eateries. Room size and view from room. Very comfortable. And clean. Functioning air con.

One elevator. For all floors. Shower pressure was non existent. Need to fix as it barely drizzled water. And the temp was just warm or extremely hot, not safe at some of the hotter temps. Fridge did not work. Reception not as informed about area or for general inquiries.

I was upgraded to a large room at check-in. It was on a low floor, but had exceptional windows and light. There was space for clothes etc. Clean. Contemporary design made best use of space. Small kitchenette hidden behind closet doors.

Policy of asking for housekeeping service the day before was confusing and inconvenient and didn't seem to mean much: I got housekeeping when not asked, and didn't get it when I did. There were not enough towels for two people

This is a pretty huge hotel situated on the corner of two busy streets. The location itself is nice because you're pretty "central" and within walking distance of many landmarks, but at the same time, it lacks the charm and quiet that other neighborhoods, like Mile End, have.

We were on the 12th floor, facing an incredibly loud rooftop bar that blasted techno music until 11pm almost every night. I had request a quiet room but couldn't go to sleep until the bar turned off its music. Also, if you want your room to be cleaned, you have to request a day in advance, which is very unusual and if you don't get organized, your room won't be cleaned for 5 days. The room has a coffee machine and a sink, but no plates or cutlery. The pressure in the shower was pretty weak.

In the Room: When you have furniture made of a light colored cloth fabric, it shows stains and that is very unappealing. We got a bigger room, but it was so much unusable space. My Mom's smaller room had more usable space.

Quick check in and convenient valet parking. The location was great for walking to the old city and the Quartier des Spectacles.

The facilities in the very small room were old and no one needs an iPod charger anymore. USB outlets would be more desirable. Cleanliness was only so so.

Location is great, especially to commute from/to airport and walk downtown/village/Chinatown/Old Montréal. Spacious and modern room, the high floors have a great view.

The rooms were smaller and didn't have a place to sit other than plastic kitchen chairs. They needed to be updated our room floor was lifting. Bed was comfortable and low to the ground. The reception area was not very clean. There was no parking onsite. Vallet offered .

Location good for walking to the old port or for metro. We were on the 5th floor, with access to the deck (see photos for views). Loved the Free Walking tour and going in the underground, besides getting coffee/breakfast at Crew, La Finca and SAT. Eggspectation was okay.

Location on the edge of a very noisy neighborhood, but room surprisingly insulated (although Friday and Saturday nights were very noisy. Really missing having a REAL bar/restaurant on the property. The one there is lame.

Location was perfect.

The room “had” a great view, but it was obstructed by this ugly netting that blocked out the view. Made the room feel cheap.

The lobby wasn’t very comfortable and bathroom locks when restaurant closes.

Good location. Easy city bus connection from and to Montreal Airport. Bilingual staff at reception very helpful and courteous.

The breakfast was disappointing.

Generally good. Elevators were fast :) Room was great!

A little tired. Too much noise in the centre courtyard late at night.

Super cozy small room, nice terrace

Location is perfect! The hotel is across the street from China town, and just an easy walk down the street from a variety of restaurants and shops.

I had to call daily if I wanted my room to be cleaned. I was told this at the time of check in. What was not said is that there is a cut off time for requesting your room to be cleaned. One day I called on or about 11am and I was told by a reception clerk that he was unsure if the cleaning crew was still taking request for room cleaning. After a long day of of kayaking and biking, I returned to an unserved room. Not the end of the world.

We were upgraded to a suite. It had everything we needed, and 2 tv’s!

The room had two parts, a bedroom and a living room. The living room had no lights at nigh and no electric outlets.

Somewhat new.

The gym

Nice location, easy to walk to Old Montreal and waterfront. The room was small but very well laid out so it was easy to use and was comfortable.

The black walls in the hallways and the black ceiling in the rooms were a little weird.
