The Mayfair House, Miami

We had a mixed but overall delightful experience at Hôtel Mayfair. The place is spotless and our room was spacious — although, true to my French roots, let me start by saying there was no hot water! For three guests, we only got two tiny bottles of water, and not even every day. Breakfast was included, but just one dish, one hot drink, and one cold drink — you’ll have to pay extra if your inner gourmand gets ambitious. Also, the breakfast room is so small that on the morning we left, people were queueing outside like it was a trendy Parisian bakery. Ah, c’est la vie!
But honestly, there’s so much to love here! The common spaces are genuinely gorgeous, the gym is massive and super well-equipped, and the restaurant is great (merci beaucoup for the warm welcome!). The advice at reception was much appreciated — thanks, Fernando! The rooftop pool and bar are a dream (Louis, those cocktails deserve a round of applause).
So yes, I’m French and I enjoy a good complaint — but here, the little annoyances really pale in comparison with all the things that make this hotel wonderful. I definitely recommend it (and that’s not just the wine talking)!

Loved the location and the ambience. So much greenery and natural vibe. Staff were all welcoming and friendly. Appreciate the smooth check in process and roof top pool staff. And rooms were exceptionally spacious.

What a special hotel.. Interior design of the hotel is so pretty, you will walk around inside thinking you're in a movie set. Both of the atriums are gorgeous, rooms are equally beautiful.

Central air conditioning of the hotel failed on the last day while we were staying there. Staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable regardless by providing mini fans.

Loved the style of the hotel - beautiful design throughout, and fantastic roof terrace. Resturant (Grill) for evening meal was EXCELLENT.

No one told us when we checked in that there was a private event happening in the evening, so when we went to the roof terrace for a swim, there was a debauched party of 20 somethings, drinking and smoking cigars in the pool. Not ideal for young kids! Also felt the breakfast offer was quite functional. Misleading menu re what was included (juice is NOT the juices on the menu!) and check presented about a minute after we ordered.

The hotel which has a Cuban vibe is well located in a peaceful area with a host of good restaurants nearby. The room was spacious with all relevant amenities. The Pool area is relaxing and far away from the Miami hustle and bustle and a wonderful inner courtyard offers real tranquility. We would recommend the hotel to others and definitely return ourselves.

The decor is a little dated but the fact that you soon forget this is a testament to the build and design quality at the time. The lift system is frustrating and very slow but hey, not a real problem in the scheme of things

Nice interior with corridor garden and great rooftop Bar & Pool Area. Quiet for good sleep (at least in 5th floor). Quick and easy check-in and -out.

The hotel has a lovely tropical feeling. The rooms are colourful and laid back.

There is a balcony but it's on a busy road, so difficult to use relaxingly. I reckon this hotel works best when catering to large groups like wedding parties. As persons passing through for a couple of nights, you're a little lost in the process.

Many people have mentioned the dark rooms. This was not really a problem for us but they could do with putting some more lighting in the room.

A quiet, character hotel in the lovely Coconut Grove. Located close to cafes, restaurants and shops. Great rooftop pool and bar area with plenty of seating and loungers. Spacious King Studio room with very comfortable beds. Lush atrium garden.

Rooms were a bit dark and lighting could have been better. No iron in the room and the steamer provided wasn't very effective.

Incredible hotel, totally beautiful and unique

Really struggled with the dark rooms. I'd read the reviews complaining about this but chose to ignore them. But they really are too dark!! Impossible to put make up on. Difficult to read in bed. Just obviously too dark -- unless you're only planning to party.

The hotel itself was beautiful, lush gardens, wonderful architecture and design, every nook another gem. The staff was also incredible and supportive, in particular David at the desk and Priscilla at the bar.

First room was not cleaned, switched to a new room. Hair conditioner was odd and left huge clumps that couldn't be rinsed out. Only a hair brush could remove the chunks. I had to buy my own shampoo and conditioner. There was no door sign to request "Do not disturb."

We absolutely loved the style of the restaurant, the front door, the refreshing smell and cool air as you walk in, the detailing in the decor, the lush greenery and the stylish room decor.

We were looking forward to a relaxing afternoon at the rooftop pool. Unfortunately, we hadn’t been given the heads up that a pool party would be taking place…it wasn’t the vibe we were looking for, too loud and no spare sunbeds, so we were a bit disappointed with that. Also loves that there was a kettle in the room but would recommend two of each type of teabag for a room with two guests.

Noise from Airconditioning. Staff were great though. My room was changed and offered a credit to use in the hotel.

Restaurant downstairs has a bbq setup however the smoke emanating from the bbq station leaves your clothes smelling of smoke well after one leaves the restaurant.

You would expect that in such a luxurious 5 star hotel- there would be a concierge to guide you. There isn’t, at the reception nobody knew to advise you what to see in the area, hardly found a map to give me- they need to improve that! there are tourists like me in Miami who needs guidance! very strange!

The property was in an excellent location. And the aesthetics were very unique and beautiful. Loved the garden design.

The staff was not around much. I did not get a complete set of fresh towels one day. We were not told there would be a party in the open courtyard one evening, which was extremely loud.

The hotel is centrally located in the Coconut Grove District with easy access to shops and excellent restaurants.

Room service certainly could be better. We had to remind the front desk (there is no desk per se, but staff with iPads) for the room to be made up. Also, we had to request complimentary coffee bags, instead of the usual procedure to replace them when rooms are made up. Most of the room service staff do not speak English, hence, communication was not easy. And the kicker, they did not have enough clean towels.

Room was huge. Location across the street from Cocowalk and lots of restaurants. Very pretty neighborhood.

Parking was $46 per day. I got an email for a "room upgrade bid" and opted for $40 which got me a garden suite which I think is the same room as what I had before the upgrade.
