Location and beach availability

Front porch dining very pleasant, room furnished in an appealing, somewhat minimalist style with wood floor.

Nothing major, would have appreciated a slightly larger bathroom. Also, would have appreciated being able to check-in before 4:00 pm, and found the requirement of leaving a $100 deposit on check-in vaguely offensive when I had already been required to prepay for the entire visit, as if I was a college student on Spring Break who couldn’t be trusted to avoid damaging the room.

Perfect location. Close to the action but far enough away for some peace. Free shuttles to take us downtown or around Miami beach. Easy walks to nearby attractions and beach.

Unfortunately the hotel was undergoing renovation to the air conditioning in one of the blocks and the temporary equipment was set up in what would have been a peaceful location. It was too noisy to sit anywhere in the hotel grounds.

Location was lovely, room was very cute, staff friendly.

The room was very dusty and the flood/carpet was not vacuumed. Also there was construction in the hotel, I wish they informed the residents. The noise scared me, was super loud at first then I figured it was construction.

Kudos to Navi who did her best to make our stay as comfortable as possible despite the noisy construction going on

The staff was friendly and helpful and made an effort to address our concerns and needs. The hotel was clean and smelled great. The location was in walking distance and very convenient to shops, restaurants, the beach, and nightlife.

I didn't like that booking did not show pictures or mention how small the room and bathroom of the advertised King standard room was. The room was really small, and the bathroom was tinny. My guess and I had to squeeze between the wall and sink to barely sit sideways on the toilet. IT WAS UNCOMFORTABLE!

Great location, amazing staff, particularly William. The rooms are a decent size and classically furnished, however there is a lot of wear and tear to the furnishings, room doors etc. The rooms need maintenance and a face lift! The bathrooms are ridiculously small.

Good location. The courtyard side of the hotel is a really cool setup and we loved staying on this side, but the majority of the rooms seem to be in the main building. The lunch/dinner menu was amazing with really interesting flavors. The bartender Nelson went above and beyond to make sure my birthday vacation was fantastic. The rooftop was a great feature, but guests staying in the main hotel probably don't realize it exists so it was always empty. Access to the beach loungers was key to enjoy the sun and all the staff on the beach had great energy.

The shampoo and conditioner provided by the hotel is terrible. I'm not sure if it comes watered down or if that's being done by staff but I've never used a product that cleansed less than this. 5 or 6 massive handfuls of conditioner to be able to comb through my shoulder length hair is insane. Especially with access to the saltwater, a better product should really be provided. A couple staff seemed to be less than enthused to be there, but the others made up for it. We got locked in our room at one point but maintenance was quick to come get us out and fix the handle. The pool is crazy tiny, like 12ft wide by 12ft long and like 4ft deep, but if you've already spent your day swimming at the beach it's a nice place to sit and cool off before you go back to your room. Also because it was attached to the courtyard rooms it didn't seem to be used much by guests staying in the main hotel. Breakfast was lacking compared to the rest of the menu, much better options close by.

location is excellent, and the room was ok, but the deposit for the room which is paid in advance feels very bad. We are not teenagers, and mistrust towards us who paid in advance is unacceptable.

The room is very dark and needs more lighting. Only 1 place to hang a towel in the bathroom which is frustrating with both bath towels and beach towels

The smell of moisture in the room and in the building. The thin walls. Ask for a quiet room so you don’t have neighbours on both sides. As well it took 11 days to get back the deposit after checking out. Too long time I think.

Excellent location, bang on the beach. Slightly away from the hustle, you walk for 3 minutes and you are right in the middle of action. Great stay

Large and quiet room, with super bed. Hotel location is also great, and quiet, but also close to the more tourist attractions. Close to the beach.

No ventilation from the bathrooms creates a bit humid smell.

The interior of the lobby is very tasteful and stylish. The rooms are (except for the noise) also very nice.

The view from the window is very different from the photo on the Balfour page but that's not unusual. There is a very quiet (is there anybody out there?) atmosphere in the lobby and F&B area and I wondered if it was open or if anyone works there. Maybe it depends on the hours? However there was always music and rather loud in the open areas including the (tiny)pool: even if it was not being used. As the rooms are adjacent to the pool area you can hear the music in your room especially if the door is broken as was mine (and looking rather ragged considering the price of the room and quality of the hotel). I asked for it to be turned off at 9pm and it was. The shower is confusing. With a little work this could have been a gem: the front desk at reception was so beautiful it made a lasting impression.

The Hotel was lovely with helpful & friendly staff, especially William on the front desk. The room itself was nice & clean, with TV & Tea/Coffee making facilities and a nice comfortable bed. The hotel location was great, a short walk from the bright lights of Ocean Drive with plenty of restaurants and bars and only a few minutes walk to South Beach.

Some of the furniture in the room could have done with a little updating and there was a lack of lighting in the room too.

The updated rooms were really nice. Staff very nice. Great location.

Very damp constantly. The older rooms were very small and seemed to have water damage. Wouldn't stay in those rooms again.
