The Betsy Hotel South Beach, Miami

It is in a quieter end of Ocean Drive and a short distance from the beach. It truly feels like a holiday.

Staff was amazing and the restaurant was outstanding!!! Kudos to the Chef - Love that they have some amazing Jazz music playing every single day and the whole ambience of the hotel was just a dream! This is an absolutely wonderful hotel that I will be sure to visit again!!!

Only real complaint is that there are no hooks in the bathroom to hang towels which is a tad inconvenient.

The hotel was pretty good and the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

The bar staff was bored and unfriendly, even though the family and friendly environment was advertised to us when we checked in. And then the service charge is included in the check 🤷🏼‍♂️ That really made the evening at Betsy very sad.

Really like the stuff they really took care of my wife and I especially on our last day out. We had a little bit too much of spirits.🤣

Its on the quiet end of Miami Beach and the building is very characteristic. Its comfortable and charming.

The room smelled of mold, the AC was very loud and the beachfront view from my room was not exactly a view with the arches in front of the window. I would have described as partial beachfront view

So much character. Loved the original build mixed in with the new. Absolutely love this hotel.

No hot water. Had to call for service. Hugely loud live music in lobby by restaurant made dinner conversation impossible

The staff were really helpful particularly Andrew and Art. The hotel is only 1 min away from the beach and the hotel provides beach deck chairs and umbrellas. The room was really comfortable and had a balcony with a slight view of the water. The roof top pool was well maintained with a bar and the water temperature was perfect.

The hotel had a problem with the WiFi and TV which the Andrew went to great pains to resolve.

Superb location for both the beach and every attraction on the Ocean Drive. The hotel has character - we loved the jazz in the evening, the reading room in the afternoon, the rooftop pool in the evening, and of course the Orb (and the overall design). The staff were amazing: special shoutout to the cleaning staff - as soon as we put the "clean the room" sign, it was taken care of! Loved our stay in the not-so-busy season.

Well beyond our expectations , starting from z location to the wonderful Staffs. Evien the bell man, Cheerful and welcoming receptionist Mario , Aziz at z restaurant , Staffs at z pool and the beach made our stay excellent and very difficult to leave.

The rooms are small, which we knew. We missed to be able to hang clothes up in the bathroom - way more hooka needed there aswell as in the actual room. The cleaning was sometimes as late as 3-4 pm. Also, a turn down would be nice considering the rate 😆. It’s also a shame to not have freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast.

I loved the Betsy, I liked it more the more I stayed there. The positives included jazz in the piano bar which was my favourite thing, the lovely and helpful staff, eg Fritz helped us with our luggage and lent us a bucket and spades for our children for the beach, two great pools, lovely toiletries in the rooms and at the pools, the beach, the chocolate gift they left in the room for my daughter for her birthday, yoga on the rooftop, the gym.

Rooms were very small. There were a few niggles. Eg when we arrived the safe in one of our rooms didn’t work and nor did the tv in the bathroom. Both were fixed promptly but I was surprised these things aren’t checked before the room is handed over. The beach service is not smooth e.g on day one we were only given 4 chairs even though we were a group of 6 and had booked a double and quadruple room. I queried this and they eventually gave us 6 chairs but showed us the information from the hotel is that all rooms except suites can only get two chairs. I didn’t bother asking for 6 chairs after this as it was too much hassle. Day 2 at the beach they had run out of towels when we came to the beach at 3.30pm. We were there for two hours at the beach and no new towels came. I was left wondering if the Betsy would be better operating their beach service themselves rather than contracting it out. Beach service hours are also short (ending 5.30pm) which surprised me as with children it is often safer/ wiser to go to the beach later when less hot.

Amazing location. Excellent food. We LOVED the rooftop pool and poolbar with excellent food, drinks & cocktails. As our stay coincided with memorial day weekend we had premium view of the Air show and the Betsy provided earplugs for protection. Staff was excellent & best of all hotels we stayed at on our US trip. Loved the whole vibe of the Betsy which is a nice mix between fancy & no frills - high end yet casual, if that makes sense. Next time we’re in Miami we are definitely staying at the Betsy again.

We were there during memorial day weekend so naturally it was busy & hectic. Only annoyance we had was one night we had toilet problem and despite calling reception multiple they kept sending maintenance to the wrong room number. But once he arrived, the maintenance guy was lovely & he helped us quickly. Other annoyance was there was a group of 4 students/kids with their own boombox & alcohol at the pool which the staff didn’t address, even though their music was louder than what was playing on the hotel’s sound system. For the price tag we’re all paying to stay here, I was astounded staff didn’t address this.

It was an amazing experience. Very good location, private beach, free sunbeds, umbrellas, and beach towels. Professional staff. Excellent breakfasts.

We had some issues with the rooms this time, but staff were amazingly helpful to provide an alternative room. The hotel facilities are great, as always: lovely pool area on the rooftop, quite business center and nice bar&restaurant area.

Location was excellent, rooftop pool was nice, outside porch was nice to sit out in and have a drink, meeting the dogs daily was good, staff accommodated a late check out for my flight. Beach service was good

Beautifully decorated. Nice gym with Pelotons. Cant be the location. Nice rooftop pool. Staff is extremely polite and helpful.

It seems to be an older property. Hallways have ceiling fans. We could not open the windows in our room so we relied on the bathroom fan and constantly running AC for air circulation. Also we were in two bed suite and one of the beds was so close to the door. You could tell they forced the second bed in there. Counter space was lacking. Also AC was extremely loud. And the room had a dingy smell which I am assuming came from the older pipes. The decor and customer service helped ease the over priced room. Just remember you are paying for the location. You can tell the owner went to great lengths to make it adorable. But for how much I paid for the room/suite, I expected more.

Great family run hotel with a very cozy design and great facilities. The location was perfect, staff was very welcoming. Morning yoga was a blast.

We found the dinner menu in a restaurant to be rather limited.

Location is excellent close enough to be in the thick of it but far enough away for a good night’s sleep.
