All you need to know
A small guest house with tranquil patios and gardens situated in Mexico City’s Cuauhtémoc neighborhood.
Being more like a cozy guest house, Hotel Casa Gonzalez is a beautiful property featuring four 1930s and ‘40s historic homes scattered throughout the verdure-covered courtyard. It’s where most travelers, couples, and families rush to experience a casual and homey ambiance. The fascinating spot on the premises of this hotel is the outdoor space embellished with patio furniture.
All of the 30+ rooms are renovated to restore the historic architecture. Where Double Room A is embellished with orange curtains, white walls, a spacious wardrobe, and a hardwood floor, the Accessible Room is carpeted and adorned with a modern touch. The amenities in common include free Wi-Fi, a built-in safe, a telephone, a small flat TV screen, and more.
Rooms with windows opening toward the streets pickup up a bit of noise, although it’s common in Mexico; still, if you prefer calmness, skip booking these.
Where you can dip your hands in the scrumptious breakfast at the featured family-run restaurant, in-room dining is also an excellent option to consider. Two communal tables are set indoors, and white patio tables are set outdoors; both seating areas make a perfect spot for unwinding or gossiping with other guests.
Free Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the property, and the staff can assist you with directions, booking excursions, and recommending restaurants.
Hotel Casa Gonzalez is a classic, calm, and cozy ambiance featuring a hotel that one will surely love to stay in when in Mexico.

Nice hotel in a very vibrant location.
This is a small hotel, in a great location. The entry is a little daunting, you need a key to open the gate. Inside, it's a nice space with small tables and open areas, a small courtyard and additional open spaces. Our room had 2 chairs outside for sitting if we wanted. The room was spacious and the bed was super comfortable. We had a king and a double in the room as well as a desk and a bench. It was a comfortable room. The bathroom was small and a little difficult to navigate because it was small. It served it's purpose. The have a very nice restaurant onsite. Breakfast was very good, lots of variety to choose from that was made fresh for you, not kept warm in a serving dish. We had a very good lunch at the hotel, food was well prepared and tasty. While we did not have dinner there (we were only there for a few days), the menu looked really good! The staff was very helpful in directing us and helping with taxis. The hotel is centrally located very close to the Angel of Independence statue, where you can easily get hop on, hop off buses, taxis, Ubers and regular buses. There are good restaurants within a few blocks of the hotel. Overall, it's a nice hotel and would have received better marks if the bathroom had been more updated and a little more spacious.
The bathroom was the only negative to this hotel because of it's size.

Very good
A small older property with charm. Really comfortable beds.
Old tub and shower - not a dealbreaker for me but may be for some.

Exceptional
Exceptionally kind and friendly staff! Peaceful and safe neighborhood to explore a variety of restaurants and parks and to use as a base for traveling throughout Mexico City with close access to Metrobus stops. Courtyard setting and balcony made the experience idyllic and welcoming. Second time at this hotel and would definitely stay again!
Just a little bit of walking to get to subway (metro) stations.

Fabulous
Really nice hotel small hotel - clean, comfortable, with a beautiful inner courtyard gated from a residential street. Nice beds. A bit gloomy on the outside at night, but as soon as you get through the gate it is bright and cheery. They do have rooms on the ground floor for anyone with mobility issues. No air conditioning but good air flow and have a floor fan. Only 2 blocks off the Reforma with lots of great restaurants nearby.
Missing some small basics like drinking glasses in the room.

Always my favorite place to stay in CDMX. Great rooms, quiet convenient location. Fernando at front desk is always upbeat, friendly and helpful.
The dining room is a bit expensive.

Loved the hotel . Had a Mexican homely feel
A colonial style property with beautiful garden and landscape . I stayed there for 4 nights and had a good stay .
I wish they had a kettle in the room . But it is clearly mentioned on their website that they do not have so it was not a surprise .

Fabulous
There was no coffee maker in the room and more fresh water should have been available. Otherwise very nice!
Coffee maker in the room and more fresh water. Better if a large pot of coffee was universally offered in reception and stations of water jugs were placed in each lobby.

A gem to stay at - you immediately feel at home
A little oasis in the city - lots of beautiful details throughout the hotel. The garden was delightful and perfect to enjoy breakfast. Location was perfect - one block off Paseo de La Reforma and five minutes from El Angél. Cesar, Fernando and the staff were warm and welcoming and extremely helpful with recommendations and more.

Magical Mexican villa in the heart of Mexico city
Cesar was absolutetly amazing! His hospitality and closeness made the stay feel like we were at a family's house, I loved how it felt like we were amongst friends, the place is a Mexican dream and the cleanness and the availability of the restaurant was great. Overall I just loved the place! Highly recommend and I have already bragged about it with 4 friends and they will be booking

One of Mexico's Best Budget Hotels
I have stayed at Hotel Casa Gonzalez several times over the course of 25 years and the place never disappoints me. The hotel is located in the heart of the rejuvenated and modernized Zona Rosa and is truly an oasis amid the energy and bustle of Mexico City. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the food at the restaurant is excellent. If you want an authentic Mexican lodging experience in a safe and secure environment, I would highly recommend staying at Hotel Casa Gonzalez, one of my favorite hotels in the world.

Very friendly and helpful staff. I enjoyed trying new food at the restaurant ;)
I am quite tall (1.90 meter) so the bed was a little too short for me.

This hotel position is a littel out from the historical center but it can be reached by foot, while it is almost an hour trip, else there is Uber that works perfectyl. The staff was really helpful on everything we asked.
The room was a little colder than expected

Very nice property, well taken cared off. Walkable distance to Reforma. Family friendly area.
Staff was very helpful. Food was good. Rooms and facility were clean.
No a/c. Fan was very noisy and looked like it was going to fall off on high. No irons in the room.

Gem of a place
Amazing, older, gem in the city. From the photos the place seems small just a few rooms. It is massive and tons of different areas of rooms and courtyards with tables and umbrellas to sit and read a book or have breakfast. Alot of the rooms have small patios as well as balconies and terraces. Super friendly staff too.
No iron in room for guests. 30 pesos an item to hand in a piece of clothing. I was on the courtyard level and the first night had the lights streaming into my room. I asked if they could please turn them off at a certain hour, instead they very kindly changed my curtains. Problem solved.

The hotel was a peaceful oasis in a very busy city.
We liked the location with restaurants very close by and a short, shady walk to La Reforma. The room was pleasant with a large bed and a comfortable mattress. Breakfast was excellent with a different fresh fruit every day. Most important, though, were the cheerful, helpful staff, who made it a home away from home.
