The Westin Beale Street, Memphis

I like the location and the opportunity to get an early check in & receive additional keys was definitely a plus

The valet crew was very impolite especially the person who sits in the physical garage…as well as the non direct phone service prior to our arrival

The beds are super comfortable, and the food from the restaurant was great. The valet is cool & convenient for guests. This is the 2nd time staying at the property this month. Employees were professional and exceptional from front door valet to kitchen, with exception of 1 front desk employee both stays.

Overall, The Westin is a nice, classy hotel. Employees like Adi should definitely be removed from the front desk. She does NOT have the front desk hospitality required for a hotel of this class & magnitude, she should NOT be any guests first encounter at this hotel, maybe at a motel 6 or something where you expect the employees to have those types of attitudes. My suggestion is for her to work in valet, taking luggage out of trunks or in the kitchen as the garbage runner or something. Her swift, rude, non character, non chalant, fast talking snottyness to guests is UNEXCEPTABLE! It's ridiculous that all of the employees my husband and I had encounters on both stays was wonderful, from head valet, super nice guy, Angel is super, super nice and guest friendly, Rai at the restaurant, very nice lady. My husband and I live in the city and are business owners. We are NOT out of towners. We like The Westin and dont appreciate how this visit turned out. The first visit earlier in December, a wonderful visit!! with the exception of Adi, this visit on New Year's Eve, not the same, and it started with the front desk (Adi). This employee will cause more issues for the hotel if she remains at the front desk. She would be the ONLY reason I would never stay there again, she is horrible! Please put it in the back, please. I'm floored, out of all the employees I had encounters with, she don't belong, she's hurting business. One more thing, and this is on The Westin. Why would you guys put snacks in the rooms with ridiculous prices like that? A can of pringles (small stack) for $8, candy container of snickers for $25..can you guys reduce the prices a bit on snacks, please.

My initial check in was somewhat uncomfortable because not only did they have my check info correct the dest clerk was somewhat abrasive towards us until she realized that every problem she was having during the check in process was something that was caused by her establishments afterwards we were treated accordingly. The next day while exploring we returned to our hotel room and found it unlocked and opened and asked manager and staff why when and how about this situation and we given every lie and excuse including the hotel clerk and cleaning lady didn’t know what was happening! Thanks god that was our last day there we were very uncomfortable and concerned about that couldn’t sleep a minute that night! I would not recommend this place! Nice building, terrible staff! 2stars?

The price was ridiculous, had to pay $36 for parking plus $200 deposit that wasn’t known about

I was charged 2xs for the room we stayed in also charged for stuff from the room bar that wasn’t even used.most of the staff was very rude unwilling to help with the double charge. Didn’t get my 200.00 security back until almost 2 months later because I had to dispute it with my bank food and drinks in the common store where outrageous Bathroom door handle fell off the day we arrived

The location was nice due to it being next to the Fedex Forum.

I asked if I could check in 3pm to 4pm and I received a message that is was approved. I arrived at the hotel at 5pm and was informed that my room is not ready and they did not know when it would be. I had a concert planned and I wanted to change clothes and put my bags up. This could not be done due to my room was not ready. I did not get a text when my room was ready like I was told. I did note get in my room until almost 12am. I had to pay for parking as well and not just hotel parking but the event parking price which was $50!!

My room wasn’t ready until 7:30. Check in as 4. I was told they were cleaning the rooms. But then I was told all the rooms were clean but they had to be inspected. I told her we had plans and needed my room. I was told I could use the public bathroom to change.

The walls are thin. We could hear the people next to us and they could hear ours. Which was a little uncomfortable.

The rooms were fantastic, with the added extras made a nice touch. My only suggestion would be if there are two people staying in the room for two days ensure that there is enough coffee pods and milk available to have at least two coffees each.

The breakfast team let you down dreadfully. It was not busy when we went in. In order not to embarrass the breakfast team I made a complaint at the check in counter at the main front desk. All our meals were luke warm (omelet/potatoes) and or cold (oatmeal). The coffee was cold we asked for a jug of hot water to warm up the coffee, we had to ask for refills on coffee. The lack of hospitality etiquette needs to be addressed. Extra milk served in a cup not a jug, try pouring from that into coffee cup or oatmeal bowl. The attitude to service to the customer was lapse to say the least. Disappointing especially from a establishment like the Westin. We paid top dollar to stay here and are treated as though it’s a bother to be looked after.

The room was good. The bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel was just around the corner from Beale Street. The bar in the hotel was also well stocked.

Our breakfasts in the restaurant were slow and not very good. It took 15 minutes to get our coffee and another 5 to get fresh milk then the breakfast was another 25 minutes and it was not hot or even warm. It is a pity as the rest of the hotel was great.

The location, friendliness of the staff, and cleanliness were all highlights of this property. You walk out the front doors, turn the corner, and you’re right on Beale!

Only downside to the property was that our room had a connecting door with another room. This is usually not an issue, but it let every (and I mean EVERY, cue the Marvin Gay) sound come through like it was wide open. Only downside to our stay.

The bathroom shower needs new caulking and deep cleaning in grout. Every shower that we took we had a water mess on the floor outside of shower to clean up. Only large, king-size pillows were available and we were very uncomfortable with the pillows provided! The staff at the front desk when we arrived AND when TRYING to check out were poorly trained and made SO MANY mistakes with my credit card. It worried me that I would have problems for weeks with over payments, but it wound up being straightened out within a few days after we left the hotel.

The mattresses need to be switched out they had big indentations in them which killed me and my husband’s backs! We left a day early! Probably won’t visit Memphis again! The bartender was great at making drinks and pleasant once you got her talking

One of the elevators was broken which caused a lot of long waits to use the elevator. I also would have preferred a refrigerator to the minibar. The description made it seem like breakfast was included in the stay. Breakfast was for sale which is not the same as “breakfast included” as described.

They had technical issues with cards getting in room and elevator. Get to room after being out to find remote was dead to TV. Something that should be check if room was ready. Not a huge deal.

If you’re going to a game, this is the place to stay. Comfortable and affordable. Clean and staff were very nice. Bathrooms are excellent!
