The Ovolo Laneways Hotel, Melbourne

The close proximity to theatres, bars and Melbourne’s Chinatown. The Reception staff were warm, friendly and really helpful.

We had a great night. Place was very clean and comfortable. Bathroom was super tiny but aside from that we loved the room. Will be back 🤩

The location was great for restaurants and attending a concert, the staff were welcoming and friendly and the room was clean.

If we were staying longer a window to look out would have been nice.

From the moment we walked in the front door we were greeted with genuine staff that seemed to enjoy their job and engaging with us as a group. The staff went above and beyond for all of our needs! Oh, and the bed was soooo comfortable (what an amazing sleep)!

Comfortably fit our family of 4. Great location. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

The location is excellent; a nice walk to all tourist attractions. We were upgraded and the room was very large and comfortable

Amazing location, rooms are beautiful.

There are no robes in the room (however, I didn’t ask reception so perhaps you can have them brought up!). My room service QR code didn’t work.

Personal touches.

We loved everything about the Laneways Ovolo! It was fun, colourful, had super friendly staff, lolly bar for the kids at reception. The room itself was clean, large, the beds insanely comfortable. We were able to cast to the tvs. Kids loved the slippers and dressing gowns. Location was amazing also. This is our family’s go to hotel when in Melbourne.

Stayed here before that’s why we came back. But we were a little disappointed, there was an unpleasant smell, which we think is damp problems. Smelt mouldy. Sorry just being honest

Nothing to dislike…

Location and boutique feel of the property are great! The beds are very comfortable and the outdoor terraces in the top level apartments are amazing!!

Service model has changed. Added inclusion such as free mini bar and in room coffee machine are no longer included and that’s a shame. It made all the difference to a typical hotel experience.. Rooms are nice but there is now nothing extra to make you feel like it’s a special hotel.

The convenience of the location, the staff, the room had the necessary facilities and it was clean. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The girls loved the complimentary lolly trolley and hubby and I loved the complimentary coffee, tea and chai station on the ground floor.

The floors probably needed a mop and the toilet flush was a tad weak. These are just super minor things we picked up.

The staff were so friendly amd helpful, the room was really good. And loved the location, so central to places I the city.

Having to leave and go home.... See you next time I'm in Melbourne.

The air conditioning didn't work very well, it was a bit hot in the room even though we had the air conditioning set to the lowest temperature

The staff were 10/10 and made this place awesome. Sadly one of them I learnt is leaving, good for her to go travelling, a shame she wont be there to welcome us next time!

The location is amazing, near amazing restaurants, bars, train and tram stop. The staff is lovely! We got an upgrade at check in, and the service was amazing. Happy hour with free wine every evening is a sweet bonus!

Staff we encountered were all friendly and helpful with what we needed. Also a great location. Rooms were tidy and nicely decorated. We also got a free room upgrade!

The rooms lacked soundproofing as we could hear conversations occurring in the hallway and rooms next door.

The free lolly bar is such a wonderful addition. The location was perfect and the staff were so so kind and helpful.

It is a lovely, quirky little hotel with great staff and a terrific location. Rooms are a good size and very comfy. Lots of snacks and wine to choose from an honesty bar and free lollies to top it off.

Had to be the best location to stay , the room was clean tidy good size, the shower was a great size staff so friendly and helpful,Lots of restaurants near by right on the edge of Melbourne chinatown.
