Bathrooms need renovating. Shower over bath is difficult for those with mobility issues Very slow lifts.

Everything!! We had a fabulous stay here. Only for a couple of nights, next time will stay longer. The high points are for the staff, all helpful happy and polite. The room, spacious and clean. There is a lounge area so if you need to work while here you can. Small kitchenette fully equipped. Big comfortable bed and very quiet room. Buffet breakfast was good, with selection of hot food, pastries, cereals and fresh fruit. They offer a free wine in the evening between 4-6, and there is snacks from the meal area as well. Love the decor of the hotel, warm and inviting.

Shower heads were a bit low if you’re tall

The room was spacious with lovely soft furnishings and bed very comfortable. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Wine down was fabulous as was the included breakfast.

The bathroom. We felt this needed a renovation - it was not comfortable or easy getting into the bath to have a shower as I have a fracture in my foot. These days and for this price we expected a separate shower.

The room was very nice, tidy & we really liked the heart chocolate gifts. Many vintage toys, we enjoyed playing & we remembered our childhood. The view was not that nice.

The only down side was the parking. We had a very negative experience, in the cold weather the card did not open & our 2 years was crying.

Room was GREAT! A really nice, comfortable space to be in. It was well laid out, equipped with everything you need. Kitchenette with pod coffee machine etc. Very clean and nicely decorated. Very comfortable.

Although facility accepts American Express credit cards, was not notified that there's an extra % charge to use it until arrival when payment had already been charged & cleared. There are 3 steps down from sleeping area to living room & a high bathtub to access shower.

Everything - the decor of hotel, the ease of check in/out, staff all brilliant, room just amazing - so big and so quiet!! The breakfast was superb, and the convenience of being able to grab a snack or coffee during the day was just so generous. Definitely will be back and now know how well equipped the rooms are for self-catering if required.

Honestly , there was nothing we could fault. Oh, maybe the lift - but at the end of the day, it went up and down - but only one of two seemed to be in operation. Having said that, it did not really impact us.

Staff were great and responsive to request. Location was great. All staff were pleasant to deal with.

Beautiful historic building. Great location in the center, close to trams. Good breakfast. Snack and coffee station open all day, evening free drink at the bar. A wonderful hotel.

No hotel restaurant. The restaurant not part of hotel was very loud when we arrived. Difficult to check in on the mezzanine and hear what was being said. It was then closed for most of our stay. Not a big deal really. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Unbelievable location - As a born and bred local getting away for a weekend I am left thinking that there is simply no better placed hotel in the city. For any tourists unsure about this. I unequivocally guarantee you will not find a more convenient location in Melbourne. The rooms are big and would be amazing for a small family to comfortably lodge. The kitchenettes are actually massive and are as big as what you would see in a small residential apartment. The appliances work well and the building is clean across the board. The service during breakfast was great.

I’ll preface by saying I knew what I was up for when making a reservation but just set your expectations when booking here regarding the levels of service you will receive. It’s designed and advertised as a self contained apartment-hotel experience. If you are not used to this you may think the levels of service are not in line with what you’re spending especially if you are accustomed to Asian hotel hospitality. The building is old - little attempt has been made to keep the decor modern and despite it being completely spotless and clean you may feel like you are not getting the premium live-in experience. Especially given the price at or just over $300aud a night. The bathrooms in particular are dated, small and were definitely the most disappointing aspect of the stay. I am 6’1 and I was not able to comfortably stand in the shower - the shower head uses water saver disc and as such the head pressure is very low. The breakfast was a blend of continental and buffet style featuring all the normal items. The items in the warmers however were lukewarm borderline cold (egg dishes) I attended breakfast at the first available time 7am which indicates the food is being reheated or prepared too early. Again the breakfast offering for the price is just okay.

A magnificent building. The one bed apartment gave me lots of space for a week long stay. Easy access to trams, trains, shopping & food. The guest lounge was a lovely bonus. A space to relax with a tea or coffee if you didn’t feelings like staying in your room.

Prime location. Ideally situated in the city's core, this location offers convenient access to various attractions and a multitude of excellent nearby restaurants. The rooms are quite spacious and come equipped with all the necessary amenities. Additionally, the complimentary bar available at all times is a fantastic perk.

The location was perfect for us, right in the CBD and near attractions like the art galleries, botanic gardens and a great range of restaurants and bars, with great transport around the city (although we walked most of the time). We loved the breakfast and the general relaxed vibe of the hotel.

It was quite good. I don't have a major dislike. Our room faced an alleyway, so not the most scenic, but it didn't matter to us.

Loved the breakfasts, lovely professional staff, beautiful building, affordable price, spacious room, bathroom.

Garbage hasn’t been emptied/towels changed in the morning as requested whilst we were away. Had to call reception second time in the afternoon. When the cleaner came, she didn’t empty one of the bins that was very full in the living room area.

Loved the hotel.

Pretty much everything. Got a great deal, stayed in Loft King Spa room. Absolutely fabulous space and the tub was great. Plenty of space and everything we needed was there. Complimentary breakfast, snacks, wine hour and even popcorn to Netflix & chill. And every spot we went to was walking distance or easy to reach by close trams. I honestly will make this my go to hotel for a Melbourne visit!!

The shower floor was a bit slippery and a handle was loose. Easy fix and with so many pluses, only a small matter to fix.

Super accomodating, friendly and kind staff. They assisted us in making up beds for our two children before we arrived and help us to check in past midnight.

The property is gorgeous! Our Suite on 7th floor was huge and stunningly decorated! The complimentary drink and nibbles on arrival and nibbles during the day was so generous! Breakfast though simple and in a small area on the mezzanine floor was delicious! The staff were ALL SO amazing and could not do enough for us! Full apartment style with kitchenette and laundry. So many small touches…they had thought of their guests needs beautifully!

Downstairs is a separate restaurant that can be used as a wedding venue meaning the entrance to the hotel reception is through the side door. Not a major though!

Wine Down 4-6pm Breakfasts - fairly simple, but all one needs Quiet and comfortable rooms. Lovely staff.

As a chemically sensitive person I found the all-pervading artificial scents nauseating. It lacks an appealing lobby and feels disconnected from the non-atmospheric separately managed restaurant at ground level.

I had a communication problem so that the requested room was not available on arrival later in the day.

The location is central to access the sites around the city. Trams, restaurants, cultural arenas all within walking distance. Regarding the accommodation you simply have it all. Rooms perfect, modern and very well maintained. Breakfast excellent. Wine down for all guests in the afternoon was a great start to have a wine before heading out for a meal. Lastly the staff… a delight at every point. Helpful and committed.

Great location. A charming older style hotel with character. Helpful staff. Comfortable bed. Lovely toiletries. Breakfast were well prepared and generous..good selection of food. Happy hour offered each afternoon for guests.

Staff were fantastic. Lounge and snacks were such an amazing touch that we really enjoyed. Breakfast was a great mix of hot and cold choices. Room was excellent and comfortable.

All staff were extremely friendly and assisted in every way. The buffet breakfast was perfect in every way. Afternoon Wine Down sessions were a great way to relax before dinner. The bar tender who was working every afternoon, was so friendly and the face that everyone needs after a long day. The building itself was like stepping back in time. To stay in a building which was once a large bank - now we are all a part of its history.

Our third stay. Very comfortable and familiar. Starting to look a little tired and probably needs targeted refurbishing. Service excellent in general. Breakfast good. Evers recommended an Italian restaurant for Sunday evening which was superb.

Harris offered a discretionary clean on day 2. Nothing happened. Why can’t you make the bar/restaurant available at the weekend ?

All staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs, customer service was a very high quality and we were very impressed. Breakfast was delicious, location was very walkable to Bourke St Mall, Melbourne Central and Chinatown. Room was spacious and clean. We would definitely stay again!

I wish there is more hooks for me and my husband to hang our towels to reuse them, as there are two rolled towels above the toilets which is not so hygiene.

Very well-appointed accommodations; contemporary and comfortable. Breakfast was better than expected, with plenty of variety. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Location is ideal!
