InterContinental Hotel Dieu, Marseille

Breathtaking location. Wonderful staff. Byredo products in the rooms and absolutely everything you need in the room. Possibly the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in worldwide.

Only slight is the entrance to the hotel isn’t that discernible at nighttime.

The hotel was beautiful, and the beds were the BEST I've EVER slept in. Like nothing else! Staff were super lovely and welcoming.

Location was excellent, close to nice restaurants, wine bars, and cafes as well as tourist attractions such as the Vieux Port and the Mucem

The room itself was nice and spacious but it overlooked an alleyway and there was a huge amount of noise in the early morning hours that took away from the overall experience

The hotel is in a very good location, great views and a good breakfast. We really enjoyed our time there, beautiful hotel and very friendly staff

Nothing better than good products!! Byredo toiletries just added to the luxury.

The spa was a disappointment- weird setup, hard to get to and a maze of elevators in the lower levels of the hotel. You have to make an appointment even to use the pool

The hotel is classy and views from the first floor terrace are beautiful. The rooms are exceptional and very comfortable. I stayed one night at another hotel in Marseille with friends during my stay and was very happy to return to the InterContinental for my last few days as it felt like luxury. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating.

I did not have time to go to the spa but if there had been an outdoor pool then I would have used it.

The hotel was grand and stately on top of the hill overlooking Marseiile. The room was quiet, spacious and so comfortable. Loved everything about this hotel. A real highlight.

Our only mistake is we didn’t dine at the beautiful terrace. Our regret. The views looked amazing. We missed it!

Right at the arrival, we were asked to establish a deposit of 1600 euros, in addition to the full payment of the room for 7 nights (in advance, plus city tax). Apparently, to cover expenditures in the hotel: minibar, restaurant, etc. I told to the receptionist, that this is excessive, the answer was that, this is the procedure. After a long negotiations, I deposited 550 euros, which was returned 3 days after departure. As a revenge, we spent 0 euro in the hotel.

Such a beautiful old building with modern but in keeping design throughout the inside.

- the location was good - dine in had some delicious options - staff were professional…mostly - the balcony is incredible - smart tv is a plus - valet service is great - overall structure is grand - had an issue with the room and was upgraded up to par with all 5 star hotels

- it’s a little bit tiresome to visit the center since the hotel is on high ground - hygiene could’ve been better - the problem in my first room could’ve been avoided

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We based ourselves at the hotel for a week, while we toured around Provence. Hotel lovely; breakfast great; services all great (house keeping, breakfast; front desk; concierge). All services great. Breakfast is really good - food and service. Naima’s crepes are the standout!!!

Charging €39 for 1 nights parking is excessive, having paid over €300 to stay there

Spectacular view, breakfast until 10:30, unobtrusive, friendly and helpful service, this is THE hotel in Marseille and we will definitely come back.

There was nothing not to like.

Excellent views. We were lucky to be upgraded to a room at the front with a patio overlooking the harbour. Bedroom excellent, bathroom very good.

Minor point, the staff at breakfast couldn’t seem to make a good coffee. Asked for a latte, should t be difficult for a 5 star hotel! The first cup brought was cold, second cup was black coffee with a jug of warm milk, third attempt was hot but bitter coffee.

This accommodation was perfect for our needs. The location was excellent and the room very spacious. The staff were efficient and friendly. The breakfast was fantastic. We would definitely stay here again. Warm regards, Kate and Garry
