Riad Star Hotel, Marrakech

Amazing property, amazing staff, location was very good but it was really hard to get there at night when the medina is closed.

Ali and the staff, including Lehsan, and the girls, made our trip such a wonderful experience. Every morning we would have a little banter of laughter during breakfast, which was a treat, and we would chat away like old friends. Ali made our trip special and helped us with our requests, he patiently answered our questions and Lehsan, now a trainee, was so nice. He went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and feel completely at home.. ☺️ Khalid from Riad Cinnamon welcomed us with open arms when he heard we were guests of Riad Star and we enjoyed a cup of tea with him.. such a gentleman. All the three properties have been beautifully designed. It was an absolute pleasure to stay at Riad Star and we highly recommend Riad Star, Cinnamon or Spice to anyone who wants a very special.Morrocan experience. We feel your quote "Come a strangers and leave as friends" is apt.,👌☺️

It was a lovely experience but the bathrooms we feel need a little upgrading.

Excellent location. Ali and his team were very friendly and did everything they could to enhance our experience during our stay from lovely breakfasts on the roof terrace to booking restaurants etc. The hotel App was also excellent for pre arrival communication (booked a car to pick us up from the airport, arranged dinner for the first evening + booked a few restaurants and a trip to the Atlas Mountains) local information and for navigating the Souks

Some refurbishment work taking place at the Riad which meant that the courtyard was not open but was covered in a dirty plastic covering. Resulted in it being very dark inside the Riad and lost a lot of the wow factor we were hoping for with this Riad. Spa facilities didn’t look great so no-one in our party fancied using them

My recent stay at Riad Star was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. The staff, including Amine, Sayed, Fatima, and fatim-zahra went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction throughout our entire stay. One of the highlights of our experience was the fresh and delicious breakfast served every morning. The variety of options and the quality of the food truly exceeded our expecttions. It was the perfect way to start each day of our stay. In addition a beautiful cake was made especially for me to celebrate my Birthday (I am forever grateful for this 😊!!) Safety was also a top priority at Riad Star. We were impressed by the attention to detail and the measures taken to ensure the safety and security of all guests. In the evenings, we were even escorted to and from the Riad, providing an extra level of peace of mind. Overall, our stay at Riad Star was nothing short of memorable! We can't wait to return for another wonderful experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a truly exceptional Riad experience.

The staff make this Riad what it is. Amine in particular was exceptional. So helpful and friendly. It's beautifully decorated and we only discovered the history of it being Josephine Baker's former home once we got there! Great breakfast included, and only a few mins away from the edge of the souk and some of the main tourist attractions, but almost silent at night which is amazing being in the Medina. Also some great restaurants and cafes within a few minutes walk too. The app is amazing!! So helpful and packed full of top tips and places to visit and eat. It also works offline and the map feature meant we never got lost!! Very clever. Overall a great, central place to stay in Marrakech. I'd recommend.

Some areas of the riad are looking a little tired with broken furniture and not quite as shiny as in the pictures. There were obviously some renovations taking place while we were there too (which is great to fix the above comments) but which meant we couldn't really enjoy the roof terrace sadly during our visit. Also, and this is no fault of the riad, there are lots of scammers hanging about at the end of the street so you have to have your wits about you. The down side of it being a quiet, side street I guess. This is common across the Medina though so again, not a flaw of Riad Star, just something you should be aware of depending on your party type. The staff are great at trying to help as much as they can, even accompanying us when possible. Don't let these things put you off. I'd still recommend staying here to anyone else visiting Marrakech.

The staff is great, everyone is helping!!😊 the room was cozy.

The only bad thing was that there was very much audibility in the rooms; when someone came into the house late at night ,after the disco you could hear all the conversations and noise very much.

I can't recommend this riad enough. Location is absolutely amazing and they made every effort to make it a home from home for us and our 2 and 6 year old. Beautiful riad in every way, stunning decor. The Ebony room really suited our needs with 2 double beds and enough space it didn't feel cramped. They welcomed our two children (who are not the quietest!) in every sense, encouraged them to use the dip pool, furnished them with sweets and biscuits, gave them hot chocolate and were generally super thoughtful and affectionate.

The peace and quiet of the Riad, the rooftop area, the app and the breakfast !! The Riad has lots of character, feels like a home, with friendly and helpful staff.

Initial communication via Booking.com was poor. A standard e mail was recieved, subsequent communication was slow and my messages were not read properly or replied to properly.

My recent stay at Riad Star was nothing short of exceptions, thanks to the amazing service provided by the caretaker, Amin, and the food offered.

Absolutely loved it! Me and my friends stayed at the Riad for eight days. The hotel was amazing they had everything you could ever need. In the morning we had breakfast which included lots of different foods. Breakfast was very delicious and fresh every day.The staff was really friendly and helpful. When we arrived one of the staff members (Amine) greeted us and brought us tea and cookies to welcome us, then he gave us some ideas and explained what we need to see in the town and offered to book some things for us as well. They clean the rooms every day and whenever we needed help they were available. Amine helped us a lot to get to know everything in the town and feel safe there for which we are thankful. The staff helped us to surprise one girl of our group with the birthday breakfast and it was an amazing surprise-we were so thankful. The riad also has a really beautiful terrace which you could use at all times to chill or sunbathe. Overall we enjoyed our stay a lot and we definitely recommend!!

The term "RIAD" means an acomodattion inside the Medina. The Star was a truly marrocan experience, the staff extremly friendly makes you feel like home.

Excellent location, lovely place, but most if all the staff extremely helpful and accommodating.

It’s the best location if one wants to be closer to Medina. Breakfast served was wonderful and had some changes everyday. Staff is exceptionally caretaking.

Only thing I could think of was the shower area in the bathroom where water was draining quite slowly.

Service is wonderful. Booked pick up from Casablanca airport with Riad and booked drop off with Riad, no issues. Very smooth transit and very nice welcoming first night. Many tips offered. Loved how there was a common area with kitchen you can use and water for you. Breakfast was very attentive. Everyone was so nice. Housekeeping is good. Location is good. We were able to walk everywhere.

First time at Riad, not used to not having outside light. Room is dark and not enough light. The toilet and bathroom is on older side and you’ll hear the toilet running after the flush.

Stayed as a group. The rooms were clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the riad was spectacular. The breakfast served includes local tastes. Tea, coffee and hot water were always available in the common room. The terrace has a lovely old city view with comfy cushions.

Would be better if there were bathroom slippers.

The Riad is beautiful and authentic: we felt the real marrocain atmosphere. The breakfast was well served and the quality was good. We arrived late in the morning and we were welcomed in an excellent way with a typical mint tea. The staff is nice, polite and always available. Amine is the perfect host, helping us in every situation: he gave us advices and suggestions for visiting Marrakech.

With the value of the rooms there should be room service available everyday. We got at request, and on some days when we didn't ask for it we got. Staff are extremely friendly, helpful and courteous. Ameenas food was very tasty.

One bedsheets had a small hole in it but during sleeping the hole got bigger and when room service was asked for the beddings weren't changed. Although it is a riad and has the old look to it too some of the condition of the furniture weren't great. The metal bedside cabinets were damaged and I got a scratch from it and couple of outfit got caught on it and damaged it. Also ants around although we don't mind and the hotel seems it's being cleaned it's always there and flies.

Sometimes can hear inner courtyard chats, but hey that's the concept of a riad, so it's kind of natural to hear a bit of interaction.

the property is very nice inside and super clean. there is a nice breakfast with sweets fruits tea water and Moroccan food. I want to pay attention to the staff for how kind reliable and helpful are. it is not safe to go around Medina 4 ladies alone. thanks to Ayoub who escorted us every single time and made us feel safe and at home. he was special and amazing

We had a wonderful stay at the Riad Star The staff ,especially Ali,went absolutely over and above to meet and greet us and make sure we didn’t get lost! They were so kind and helpful The Riad was beautiful inside and our room was wonderful ,such a lovely experience and I’m so glad we chose to stay there I loved being in the medina and close to it all but it was still amazingly quiet inside the Riad as it’s perhaps just a little further out from the commotion making it lovely and peaceful We had a scrumptious breakfast on the last day as I was out very early exploring the first days They had everything you could have wanted,pancakes were especially delicious! Many thanks again for a most wonderful stay!

Stayed in a family room with 5 friends for 2 nights - was a perfect size and great location! Staff were friendly and the breakfast was great. Definitely check out the roof terrace if you stay here!

Staff were helpful with arranging taxis but they were very expensive so would recommend getting a metered taxi from a rank rather than booking through the hotel

Staff in the Riad were so welcoming and helpful during our stay, with access to mint tea and water at all times. Terrace was beautiful, a peaceful place amidst the hustle and bustle. Breakfast was a 10/10, we were even offered eggs one morning!

Our shower had an issue which we feel should have been checked prior to our arrival. We really appreciate that the issue was seen to promptly but in the intense heat that we experienced while staying in the Riad we needed the cold setting on the shower to be working. We also found the mattresses to be quite hard for our liking. That is just personal preference but you would like to have a great night's sleep and that was not always the case.

Breakfast was well prepared each day and better again available on the rooftop. Very quiet considering its location. ALso was a pleasant surprise to find out it was Josephine Bakers old house at one point in time!

Everything was amazing! Thank you so much to all the staff at RIAD STAR for making our trip awesome. Abdou, Ayuf and Said made sure we always had someone taking us around since Marrakech roads can be a little confusing, they took care of literally everything. Great communication, always available, very patient with all our plans. The riad is beautiful, close to all the attractions in the medina, very clean. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, our room was equipped with everything you would need. We will for sure be back!

Beautifully restored riad in a good location, unique decorations and history. Our room (Harmony) was very big, good value for money. We liked the mint tea on arrival and staff were helpful when approached.

No sign on the front door, just the number so you need to pay attention to the address to know you've found it when you're there. It's down quite a dark little lane, we were fine as there were two of us but I would have been nervous walking back alone at night. Staff told us they didn't do dinner at the riad when we tried to book it, although our emails said they did. Also it was confusing at breakfast as the only two dining tables in the main courtyard were already taken when we got downstairs, and staff seemed too busy to direct us. We also weren't sure if the kitchen island and tea facilities were available for us to use or were for staff only.

Breakfast was absolutely amazing, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Zakaria was super helpful and the host with the most. He really looked after us.

Nothing bad to say about Riad Star at all. As an area to stay, in the Medina, you really need to know where you are going. Beware of "helpful" strangers looking to give you directions for a large fee!
