The property is far from being as luxurious as it looks on pictures. The property has great potential but not well maintained with poor decoration or extra objects that spoils the whole look of the property. It is quite noisy too.

Lovely riad in a great location. The staff were lovely, especially Lahcen who went out of his way to find a cell phone we’d left in a taxi. He got it back in less than two hours.

Great location near a couple of really good restaurants, lovely refurbishment of an old riad.

Rooms very small compared to photos. Breakfast was supposed to start at 8, but staff didn’t start till 8, so twice took over an hour to come after ordering. Cold pancakes and yesterday’s stale bread served. Pool was more of a big bath with a crust of flies on the surface - no one went in it when we were there. All the furniture needs a good deep clean: dusting, cleaning upholstery, wiping table surfaces. Stingy on towels which were greying and stiff. No hand towel in ground floor loo despite repeated requests.

We were really excited for our stay in the house formerly occupied by Josephine Baker and the promises made in the website and other promotional material. For the rates that were charged the service was pretty poor. The location while good was also very noisy. Breakfast was underwhelming. Staff were very sweet but clearly lacked training in handling a hotel (dirty towels and not very clean rooms). Overall while the property has a certain charm it certainly did not live up to the hype on its website.

Wonderful staff. The facilities were lovely. The wifi was strong. And the location was great.

Our taxidriver called the hotel for collecting us from a parking close to the hotel, to guide us to the entrance. Such a friendly and nice boy. But no advertising sign outside on the hotel, very strange. The room had NOT been updated for a very long time and the shower walls are always wet. Breakfast was okay but started a little late, but again the girls were very kind and friendly. Close to the hotel are several good restaurants and the small shops within a few minutes walking. We cancelled the last night.

The room was clean and cosy, the breakfast was truly excellent and the location of the hotel was right to the old center of Marrakech

The staff were exceptionally helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Lovely breakfast on the roof terrace. The Riad is stunning and the location is very central with a few exceptional Morrocan restaurants nearby. Would highly recommend.

The position of the Riad is very convenient and the staff has been extremely helpful.

I think the details and the quality of the Riad is neglected. The public areas are quite dirty (sofas and loungers extremely dirty) and also the room could be looked after a bit more.

The Riad was beautiful with an incredible roof terrace with views of the Atlas Mountains. The room was a great size with all the amenities required for our stay and hot water in the shower with good water pressure. Staff were so kind, friendly and accommodating made sure our stay was perfect. They were always checking in with us, advising us on places to go (providing maps and personal recommendations) and happy to help with anything. The breakfast was delicious and they catered to our vegan requests, they were very understanding of dietary requirements and would go above and beyond to accommodate these where they could. The location was also great, super central and easy to walk everywhere you wanted to go but just outside of the souks so was nice and quiet during our stay. Would stay again if in Marrakech and would 100% recommend Riad Star to any other travellers.

The staff were fantastic and helped with booking tours and airport transfers for us, all excellent recommendations. Thank you to Ali - he was super! The room was nice and the beds were firm which we loved! Good pillows too. Lovely shower. The rooftop terrace is the highlight of the hotel.

When other guests were up late at night it was really loud in our room. As the only window in the room was into the interior courtyard which had tables where people hung out and also the kitchen where they served breakfast, we could hear everything. If I returned I would definitely wear ear plugs. We also had an optional conjoining room that had other guests in and we could hear everything through the door. The breakfast had limited options and the kitchen area was messy at times. The outdoor pool is more like a fountain. The spa facilities are very limited. Overall the photos look better than the reality.

The staff and the roof terrace made it an amazing place to stay.

It was a little run down. We stayed in the Jazz room and I was a little claustrophobic due to no windows.

No sign to hotel. When we asked for bottled water and bath robes they never came. Hotel is advertised as 5 star, when service is 3 star as are some of the facilities. Breakfast was boring. We ordered evening meal on roof top terrace, it was cold when it arrived.

It wasn’t as fantastic as the photos appear! But it was ok.

The location is hard to navigate to because cars cannot enter the Medina streets and it’s hard even with the GPS to find walking directions but people were nice enough to help us

The hotel rooms were fine and the roof terrace is very nice.

The location of the Riad is very bad, we initially struggled to find it at first as no one from the hotel responded to my messages regarding arrival. Then getting to the riad at night you have to go through dark alleyways where there are countless men who harass you for money. We were most disappointed when trying to get back to the riad we were followed by men, we thought we were safe when we got to the Riad and Khalid opened the door but he was no help and watched us get harassed by these men who were demanding money and instead of helping and closing the door he was telling us to be quiet. Be very careful if you decide to stay here as you will be constantly worrying about your safety when wanting to go out.

The staff are this place’s biggest asset!❤️ever so warm and welcoming. Endless supply of water. Can recommend attractions. Helped us book a trip to Ourika valley even after we we left the riad. The breakfast is super delicious and generous portions. The ladies (3 Fatima’s and Hind) were lovely, recommended where I could get Moroccan soap when I asked and made us incredible food! Ali and Khalid walked to taxi ranks with us a few times as was a bit tricky and were super friendly to my kids. Because it’s a small Riad and there were only 2 or 3 other families which u don’t see all the time, it felt so safe and like a home! I could let my kids (10&12) play in the pool which our room over looks and can hear them and be comfortable. The location couldn’t be better for attractions in the Medina. You can walk everywhere, yet not on a busy road so we didn’t hear the motorbikes or street noise at night at all. Despite being an old-ish riad it’s clean and nicely decorated. Thanks everyone for a memorable holiday 💖 If it’s your first time in Marrakech Madina, I’d strongly recommend booking a taxi through the riad to meet you at airport as no taxi will drop you off at door of riad. There comes a point cars can’t get past and you have to walk this is tricky for first timers at night in the alleys. We booked a taxi with them so Ali met us a taxi rank in Madina and walked us to riad and a man with a big wheelbarrow sort of thing pulled our bags so no stress.

First room (family suite) had such a nice arrangement and two bathrooms but the top one had a smell of sewerage and the shower was very slow draining but they moved us to a different room when we explained Did not feel the Moroccan Hammam/ spa was worth the price. It could really do with an upgrade to its facility maybe sauna and aircon in the massage room and some TLC.

Breakfast was very varied and delicious. We were provided bottled water on request. The room was clean, very room and came with aircon. The room was cleaned each day. The hotel held our luggage in a safe place as our flight was after check-out. The location was 5 minutes walk from the main square.

Beautiful designed Ria. The staff is amazing. Never felt more welcomed. The managers were always there to help and our stay was a delight.

Ali particularly but Amin also, and everyone else, couldn’t do enough for us. They were exceptionally helpful and thoughtful. They would arrange anything we asked for.

The term "RIAD" means an acomodattion inside the Medina. The Star was a truly marrocan experience, the staff extremly friendly makes you feel like home.

Location at the first sight

It’s the best location if one wants to be closer to Medina. Breakfast served was wonderful and had some changes everyday. Staff is exceptionally caretaking.

Only thing I could think of was the shower area in the bathroom where water was draining quite slowly.

The breakfast room was quite cold due to the very high walls.....but we always had to ask for heater.

Service is wonderful. Booked pick up from Casablanca airport with Riad and booked drop off with Riad, no issues. Very smooth transit and very nice welcoming first night. Many tips offered. Loved how there was a common area with kitchen you can use and water for you. Breakfast was very attentive. Everyone was so nice. Housekeeping is good. Location is good. We were able to walk everywhere.

First time at Riad, not used to not having outside light. Room is dark and not enough light. The toilet and bathroom is on older side and you’ll hear the toilet running after the flush.

The Riad is beautiful and authentic: we felt the real marrocain atmosphere. The breakfast was well served and the quality was good. We arrived late in the morning and we were welcomed in an excellent way with a typical mint tea. The staff is nice, polite and always available. Amine is the perfect host, helping us in every situation: he gave us advices and suggestions for visiting Marrakech.

With the value of the rooms there should be room service available everyday. We got at request, and on some days when we didn't ask for it we got. Staff are extremely friendly, helpful and courteous. Ameenas food was very tasty.

One bedsheets had a small hole in it but during sleeping the hole got bigger and when room service was asked for the beddings weren't changed. Although it is a riad and has the old look to it too some of the condition of the furniture weren't great. The metal bedside cabinets were damaged and I got a scratch from it and couple of outfit got caught on it and damaged it. Also ants around although we don't mind and the hotel seems it's being cleaned it's always there and flies.

Sometimes can hear inner courtyard chats, but hey that's the concept of a riad, so it's kind of natural to hear a bit of interaction.

Stayed in a family room with 5 friends for 2 nights - was a perfect size and great location! Staff were friendly and the breakfast was great. Definitely check out the roof terrace if you stay here!

Staff were helpful with arranging taxis but they were very expensive so would recommend getting a metered taxi from a rank rather than booking through the hotel

The help with bookings in the area was great and the staff was great, especially Ayoub.

Staff in the Riad were so welcoming and helpful during our stay, with access to mint tea and water at all times. Terrace was beautiful, a peaceful place amidst the hustle and bustle. Breakfast was a 10/10, we were even offered eggs one morning!

Our shower had an issue which we feel should have been checked prior to our arrival. We really appreciate that the issue was seen to promptly but in the intense heat that we experienced while staying in the Riad we needed the cold setting on the shower to be working. We also found the mattresses to be quite hard for our liking. That is just personal preference but you would like to have a great night's sleep and that was not always the case.

Breakfast was well prepared each day and better again available on the rooftop. Very quiet considering its location. ALso was a pleasant surprise to find out it was Josephine Bakers old house at one point in time!

No door between the bathroom and bedroom.

Beautifully restored riad in a good location, unique decorations and history. Our room (Harmony) was very big, good value for money. We liked the mint tea on arrival and staff were helpful when approached.

No sign on the front door, just the number so you need to pay attention to the address to know you've found it when you're there. It's down quite a dark little lane, we were fine as there were two of us but I would have been nervous walking back alone at night. Staff told us they didn't do dinner at the riad when we tried to book it, although our emails said they did. Also it was confusing at breakfast as the only two dining tables in the main courtyard were already taken when we got downstairs, and staff seemed too busy to direct us. We also weren't sure if the kitchen island and tea facilities were available for us to use or were for staff only.

Breakfast was absolutely amazing, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Zakaria was super helpful and the host with the most. He really looked after us.

Nothing bad to say about Riad Star at all. As an area to stay, in the Medina, you really need to know where you are going. Beware of "helpful" strangers looking to give you directions for a large fee!

the staff is AMAZING, Ali, Ayub and Asna did their best to help us in every request or need. they are always helpful, available and kind. the location, in the heart of the Medina, is perfect. we had beautiful breakfast and a wonderful tailor made dinner, amazing.

it’s not the Riad fault but the taxi service from the airport wasn’t perfect. the service is handled by an external company but they weren’t on time and we waited outside the airport. maybe they can clean better some spaces

It's a lovely building in the heart of the Medina. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Ayoub really goes. the extra mile. He will do his best to help with anything. really nice man.

Water pressure low to the shower and very hard to get the right mix, either boiling or cold. Cold in most communal areas but the room was warm.

not far from the souks

The rooftop area was a great retreat from the busy city and we had quite a few cups of mint tea. The family room was perfect for us with three grown up kids. But above all, the hotel host Amine was so kind and helpful and helped us with any request we had. Golden star to him.

Location but this is only because we found the medina dirty and most of the people rude. This is in no way a bad reflection of this riad. Only our opinion
