Riad Star Hotel, Marrakech

The riad has a nice aesthetic overall. The staff is very courteous and helpful. The breakfast was good, with typical Moroccan items, and eggs to order and fresh orange juice. The water temperature was good in the bathroom. The rooftop is very nice with different cozy areas. The location, as with many riads, requires walking down a few narrow streets to get to the souks or to the taxi stand, so would not be ideal for those who want to minimize walking distances.

Some members of our group found the beds uncomfortable, while others had no issues. The in room safes should be updated with newer models that are larger and easier to use.

The property was lovely and location very good. The staff Ali/Mourad and the entire team are suburb. Their warmth, professionalism and genuine care of us over the last three days made our trip. They are the gold stars!!!

I think the spa was not open. I asked multiple times before going to the hotel and I received no answer for it. Only some days before, I was told that I could book on site. When I was there I was told that there was no spot available (during our stay, we did not see any other guests). I chose this accommodation also because of the spa option, but I could not have access to it.

Fabulous location and super friendly and attentive staff in riad. We were given some excellent recommendations of restaurants/ places to visit (and avoid) and offered a driver to drop us off at different locations for the day for an excellent price. Lahcen welcomed us on arrival and was very responsive and attentive to all of our questions/ requests and made sure we had a super easy and smooth experience. Felt super safe and looked after and would definitely return again! Breakfast was great too.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay here. The staff was super helpful. The medina it'self is difficult to stay in. There is a lot happening there that most westerners might feel uncomfortable with but getting to this Riad each night was the highlight of our trip.

Lahcen is a really nice person. He was always available and arranged all what we needed during our stay in Marrakech. The riad is really well located in the medina. 20-25 minutes walking from Jeema El Fna. The family room is well adapted for a family.

you should imform visitoris about potential scams, as we unfortunately got scammed at the end of the road as this group of boys at the end of the road telling us that the road was shut due to the Mosque being on. They then continued to lead us down a different road and then resulted in us giving them money for the wrong directions. was not a nice experience at all and we did not feel safe going back to our riad or leaving.

Lovely riad in a great location. The staff were lovely, especially Lahcen who went out of his way to find a cell phone we’d left in a taxi. He got it back in less than two hours.

The riad was very fresh and clean with friendly and attentive staff. The rooftop was our favourite place to be: spacious, calming and with a view on the city.

A little bit sterile, warmer lights would have been nice. We woke up the last morning with a room filled with about half a centimeter of water on the floor after the nights rain. Thankfully our stuff didn’t get wet, and we could simply pack and leave the room after having breakfast. The breakfast area was also wet, which they only started wiping after we asked them to. It would have been preferable if the breakfast area was already dry when we got there, and that they would fix our room while we had breakfast.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Lovely breakfast on the roof terrace. The Riad is stunning and the location is very central with a few exceptional Morrocan restaurants nearby. Would highly recommend.

The Riad was beautiful with an incredible roof terrace with views of the Atlas Mountains. The room was a great size with all the amenities required for our stay and hot water in the shower with good water pressure. Staff were so kind, friendly and accommodating made sure our stay was perfect. They were always checking in with us, advising us on places to go (providing maps and personal recommendations) and happy to help with anything. The breakfast was delicious and they catered to our vegan requests, they were very understanding of dietary requirements and would go above and beyond to accommodate these where they could. The location was also great, super central and easy to walk everywhere you wanted to go but just outside of the souks so was nice and quiet during our stay. Would stay again if in Marrakech and would 100% recommend Riad Star to any other travellers.

It was a little run down. We stayed in the Jazz room and I was a little claustrophobic due to no windows.

the staff there is precious , AALi is a very professional , kind caring and smiley person always ready to help, support , advice and have a good word for anyone. We had a marvellous stay. All the staff was absolutely Fabolous and the breakfast was every day different and very nice , we enjoyed the coffee and the very tasty fruits we been offered .

We find that the pictures of the Riad are photoshopped a lot. The Riad is nice and very characteristic in a great location . But the Riad needs a good TLC, the rooms were draftee and cold as the windows could not close properly , The swimming pool is not indeed that one pictures in the photos is much much smaller and is more of a fountain thought. The breakfast area is not indeed the one of the pictures is way different , nice but not as in the pictures. The room were much smaller and the one shown are made bigger and brighter by a very good use of photoshop. We believe the price paid is way too over the quality of the structure , AAli and his staff is precious and really a fab asset for the Riad , all of them weight in gold . thanks you

The location is hard to navigate to because cars cannot enter the Medina streets and it’s hard even with the GPS to find walking directions but people were nice enough to help us

The staff are this place’s biggest asset!❤️ever so warm and welcoming. Endless supply of water. Can recommend attractions. Helped us book a trip to Ourika valley even after we we left the riad. The breakfast is super delicious and generous portions. The ladies (3 Fatima’s and Hind) were lovely, recommended where I could get Moroccan soap when I asked and made us incredible food! Ali and Khalid walked to taxi ranks with us a few times as was a bit tricky and were super friendly to my kids. Because it’s a small Riad and there were only 2 or 3 other families which u don’t see all the time, it felt so safe and like a home! I could let my kids (10&12) play in the pool which our room over looks and can hear them and be comfortable. The location couldn’t be better for attractions in the Medina. You can walk everywhere, yet not on a busy road so we didn’t hear the motorbikes or street noise at night at all. Despite being an old-ish riad it’s clean and nicely decorated. Thanks everyone for a memorable holiday 💖 If it’s your first time in Marrakech Madina, I’d strongly recommend booking a taxi through the riad to meet you at airport as no taxi will drop you off at door of riad. There comes a point cars can’t get past and you have to walk this is tricky for first timers at night in the alleys. We booked a taxi with them so Ali met us a taxi rank in Madina and walked us to riad and a man with a big wheelbarrow sort of thing pulled our bags so no stress.

First room (family suite) had such a nice arrangement and two bathrooms but the top one had a smell of sewerage and the shower was very slow draining but they moved us to a different room when we explained Did not feel the Moroccan Hammam/ spa was worth the price. It could really do with an upgrade to its facility maybe sauna and aircon in the massage room and some TLC.

Breakfast was very varied and delicious. We were provided bottled water on request. The room was clean, very room and came with aircon. The room was cleaned each day. The hotel held our luggage in a safe place as our flight was after check-out. The location was 5 minutes walk from the main square.

The property was built with an excellent design. The decoration is outstanding. It feels very homey.

The highlight of our stay is the interaction with the staff. The two property managers Ali and Khalid went far and beyond to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The rest of the staff were also friendly and welcoming. We will go back whenever we can because of them.

The staff! They are what made our trip amazing! The location is right at the centre and close to the souq! Only coming back at night is a little risky! Make sure you have the location on your maps or else you will get lost especially as there is no signage outside! The property is a little dated but it’s a riad so it’s bound to be like that! Loved the stay and the breakfast but overall the people especially Ali, Khalid and another lady I don’t remember her name

Just the location was a bit in the middle, the gates shut early so we had to reroute.

Ali and the staff, including Lehsan, and the girls, made our trip such a wonderful experience. Every morning we would have a little banter of laughter during breakfast, which was a treat, and we would chat away like old friends. Ali made our trip special and helped us with our requests, he patiently answered our questions and Lehsan, now a trainee, was so nice. He went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and feel completely at home.. ☺️ Khalid from Riad Cinnamon welcomed us with open arms when he heard we were guests of Riad Star and we enjoyed a cup of tea with him.. such a gentleman. All the three properties have been beautifully designed. It was an absolute pleasure to stay at Riad Star and we highly recommend Riad Star, Cinnamon or Spice to anyone who wants a very special.Morrocan experience. My recent stay at Riad Star was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. The staff, including Amine, Sayed, Fatima, and fatim-zahra went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction throughout our entire stay. One of the highlights of our experience was the fresh and delicious breakfast served every morning. The variety of options and the quality of the food truly exceeded our expecttions. It was the perfect way to start each day of our stay. In addition a beautiful cake was made especially for me to celebrate my Birthday (I am forever grateful for this 😊!!) Safety was also a top priority at Riad Star. We were impressed by the attention to detail and the measures taken to ensure the safety and security of all guests. In the evenings, we were even escorted to and from the Riad, providing an extra level of peace of mind. Overall, our stay at Riad Star was nothing short of memorable! We can't wait to return for another wonderful experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a truly exceptional Riad experience.

The staff make this Riad what it is. Amine in particular was exceptional. So helpful and friendly. It's beautifully decorated and we only discovered the history of it being Josephine Baker's former home once we got there! Great breakfast included, and only a few mins away from the edge of the souk and some of the main tourist attractions, but almost silent at night which is amazing being in the Medina. Also some great restaurants and cafes within a few minutes walk too. The app is amazing!! So helpful and packed full of top tips and places to visit and eat. It also works offline and the map feature meant we never got lost!! Very clever. Overall a great, central place to stay in Marrakech. I'd recommend.

Some areas of the riad are looking a little tired with broken furniture and not quite as shiny as in the pictures. There were obviously some renovations taking place while we were there too (which is great to fix the above comments) but which meant we couldn't really enjoy the roof terrace sadly during our visit. Also, and this is no fault of the riad, there are lots of scammers hanging about at the end of the street so you have to have your wits about you. The down side of it being a quiet, side street I guess. This is common across the Medina though so again, not a flaw of Riad Star, just something you should be aware of depending on your party type. The staff are great at trying to help as much as they can, even accompanying us when possible. Don't let these things put you off. I'd still recommend staying here to anyone else visiting Marrakech.

The staff is great, everyone is helping!!😊 the room was cozy.

The only bad thing was that there was very much audibility in the rooms; when someone came into the house late at night ,after the disco you could hear all the conversations and noise very much.

I can't recommend this riad enough. Location is absolutely amazing and they made every effort to make it a home from home for us and our 2 and 6 year old. Beautiful riad in every way, stunning decor. The Ebony room really suited our needs with 2 double beds and enough space it didn't feel cramped. They welcomed our two children (who are not the quietest!) in every sense, encouraged them to use the dip pool, furnished them with sweets and biscuits, gave them hot chocolate and were generally super thoughtful and affectionate.
