TOC Hostel, Madrid

Right smack in the center of Madrid, location can’t be beat. We stayed in a family room on the fourth floor; our two teenagers enjoyed the room setup. Room was very cozy, warm and clean, with a small french balcony and really well insulated from the outside hustle and bustle. Hostel feels like stepping back in time (in a good way), quirky staircase, very nice communal eating area, pool table and bar. Staff was extra friendly and helpful.

Nothing! but if something can be suggested it would be some shelves/more hangers in the family room.

En-suite Showers/toilets in a 6-bed not having locks was a bit weird

Fantastic Location, right on Plaza Puerta del Sol, so very close to all the shopping streets and restaurants and cafes and even the museums, el Retiro park, Royal Palace were at 20-25mins distance.. Very clean rooms, good comfortable beds and good lighting.

I had to access the room (1st floor) through stairs, and there were a lot of beds on that floor, so making it difficult to access/making it without access to Elevator is not a good idea.

The staff was really friendly and hostel looked cute and had warm feeling.

Room should be vacuumed better. There was like six old towels from previous travelers and a lot of hair on the floor. So just a little bit more extra cleaning on the room edges :)

Clean hostel in the city center with all the facilities around. Reachable to all shops, food joints and clubs.

The beds don't have the curtains for privacy while sleeping and when reaching the second bed there is no grill to catch n it is dangerous at night when everyone is sleeping and you try to get out of the bed in dark without handles

THE place to stay in Madrid for solo travelers located in the center of Madrid a 5-10 minute walk from the Grand Via The room is spacious, one part is 2 toilets and 2 showers and the second part is the beds which were very comfortable there is lighting and a charger next to the bed

there is no curtain for the bed large suitcases do not fit in the storage unit in the room

The location of the hostel was excellent. The rooms were clean and tidy. The common area was spacious and practical. The prices at the bar in the common area were reasonable, and the bartenders were very friendly. I didn’t experience any issues during my 2-day stay.

It could have been even more comfortable if the beds had curtains.

Location is perfect, its not easy to come from the airport but everything else is very easy to get to. Beds are nice and comfortaboe and a little bit bigger than I am used to which was nice. Stuff was amazing and really helpful. View from the terrace was also really nice as the city was coverednim christmass decorations. Definitely very good value for money.

I dont like that toilete and cabins are separated but it was not a huge problem. In our room we had problem with flushing so its something that should definitely be fixed. Also cabins for showers are semi-transparent which is not a huge problem but it could be uncomfortable sometimes for women in mixed rooms. Also rooms lack some space to leave the shoes and some there is enough space to have a chair or two for putting shoes on etc. Breakfast was good but I would prefer more savory options (there are plenty of sweet options for people who prefer it)

TOC Hostel sits right in the centre of Madrid which means you step outside and immediately collide with history tapas and confused tourists. Location is almost unfair, Plaza Mayor is minutes away and the city basically does not let you sleep early. The place feels modern clean and well organized like a hostel that went to business school. Big common areas a bar downstairs and enough social energy to accidentally make friends even if you planned not to. Rooms are tidy and beds are comfortable enough to forgive the fact that you are sharing oxygen with strangers. It is lively especially at night so this is not a monastery retreat. If you want silence look elsewhere. If you want convenience atmosphere and a hostel that feels more polished than most apartments this works very well. Madrid was founded in the 9th century and somehow TOC managed to squeeze itself right into the middle of it all. Not cheap but you pay for location and sanity. A solid choice if you want Madrid at full volume without sleeping on the street.

Staff were very friendly and always present. Hostel was very clean, also shared rooms with incorporated shared bathroom were clean. I slept well on the comfortable beds. Breakfast was good and there was always a safe and pleasant atmosphere everywhere.

I’ve stayed in TOC hostels in Barca & Sevilla previously. This Madrid branch is also top drawer regarding location , facilities & most important price.

Everything is amazing, so cost-effective. It has a great location, literally in the center of the city. Going to any tourist attractions is so close and convenient. The room is so clean, the staff is welcoming. Even the hallway smell nice,I think they used perfume. It has a great privacy and the bathroom is big and clean. I will definitely visit there again

Toc Hostel is a great place for solo.tourists like me who are visiting the Madrid city centre.

The shared bathroom was although clean but the sink basin was designed in such a way that you cannot prevent water from accumulating on the floor. That makes it harder to was your face without getting the water spilled on the floor. I made a suggestion to the receptionist that they can place a cloth mat on the bathroom floor to prevent water spillage from making a pool.

The location is amazing.It is next to sol square and 3 minutes walk to grand via. Metro is just 100 metres away. There is cafe opposite and everythjng you need. The room is clean, the bed was very comfortable and felt safe. Its the ideal place to stay im Madrid.

Everything was great….the location at the heart of Sol, the staff, the facilities, the room, the cool cafeteria and the shared kitchen. A fantastic choice in Madrid, total class and value.

Is well located

The hostel was in the center and there was a variety of restaurants/fast food chains around it apart from stores and souvenir shops. The metro and general transpo are also within walking distance so it's very accessible. For the rooms, the 6-bedroom I stayed in was clean and the bunk bed was comfortable. There's also a bar/kitchen and the breakfast buffet included with the price I paid for was great.

The Bar, last time I was there the Bar was at the rooftop, now looks so fancy

I booked a mixed bedroom and there was mainly guys, so my bad, you can imagine the bathroom

This hostel is in such a gorgeous building in a very convenient location in Madrid. Staff were very friendly. My room was very spacious for 6 people. Everything was clean. More than enough storage.

Room was not ready at 15:00. Toilets were not clean - shared for room 101-104 (some clients must have a very poor behavior, if you have a stomach issue - use the brush!) "privacy curtains" on the beds.

The beds were amazingly comfortable. The staff were on point and available 24 hours a day. The location was spectacular. When I lost my room card, they were totally accommodating and friendly. The temperature inside was wonderful. It was, overall an amazing and lovely place to stay and I would recommend it to anybody.

We were in the girls dorm, and sometimes guests would come in at two or 3 AM making as much noise as they would at a normal hour of day, and the bathroom and showers are right next to the bedroom. But maybe that's just dorm living. I don't hold toc hostel responsible for other peoples actions, but that could've been a little quieter. I would like to have seen more public seating in the bar or dining area, in order to have a place to land outside of the bedroom. Everything else was great!

The location is excellent, and the overall experience here was very relaxing and pleasant. The shared kitchen provides everything you need.

The location is fantastic to explore Madrid. have stayed here several times. Its super clean, very close to Sol Metro, the staff is great, very comfortable beds, overall highly recommended.
