TOC Hostel, Madrid

Excellent location. Beautiful building.Very helpful and friendly staff. Kitchen fully equiped. Great value for the money. Even thought they are providing breakfast ( for extra price), i was allowed to use the kitchen/ dining area to prepare my own breakfast at the same time. Rooms are very well insulated, quiet and heated if needed.

No privacy blankets in the beds. It would be nice to put at least 1 chair in the room. I stayed in 6 bed shared dorm. If you are staying on the top bunk, it is impossible to sit down and put your shoes on. There is certainly enough room for it. One of the evenings I stayed, bar area ( adjactent to kitchen/dining) was closed for a private function, but there was no alternative space given to hostel dwellers, so it got really crowded in there and you could not get a drink unless you brought one yourself from outside. That was not great, considering you found out about closing only when you got in the bar area and quite late in the evening. Separating trash bins in the kitchen have no signs on them, so travellers just mix all disposal in all of them, and they get full and dirty by the end of the day. All of those complaints are just small, but it would make a difference.

The common area was nice to hang out, play billiards, work etc. Great location! Staff was very helpful and kind.

One matress was comfy, the other one was worn out, we informed the desk at the end of the stay and hope they provide a new one (room 105, bed 3). The bathroom light never fully turns off and the "night light" is very bright, so you need a eye mask.

room was smelly because of a guy that didn't shower! no window in the bathroom and could not sleep with balcony door open. Bed was ok but the mattress took the shape of my back, not recommended if you're staying more than 2 nights. also, getting to the bunk bed is not as easy and accessible as other bunk beds I ve slept in.

The rooms and the bathrooms are small, also the beds could be better, nothing wrong to have a curtain for a little bit of privacy

Literally everything else, this had the feel of a nice hotel but it’s a hostel. The bathroom in particular was so calming and the shower was great. You have a little balcony. Great common area with a good kitchen, bar, and pool. Unbeatable location and very good value.

One of the lockers was broken, so 1 person didn’t use a locker. The bed frames were wooden so the ventilation wasn’t great, and it felt hot even in March. Just opening the balcony door was a quick solve, but this might be a challenge in the summer, or if any of your roommates don’t want to open the door.

So friendly team , room is excellent clean tide , location is perfect.

I like it all mostly the hospitality from staff in reception they are very nice talking in good English friendly and helpful , my first trip Madrid and I choose this hostel and it’s very satisfying 😊

I only stayed one night, with no negative points. Furthermore, the property was well located for tourism. The staff were friendly, and the overall appearance were clean and attractive.

I had no complaints. The only improvement I would suggest is providing towels for guests.

Excellent place with a professional and friendly team, available 24/7. They offered great tips and helped us navigate the city: what to do, where to go, and how to get around. The room was fairly large, comfortable, and very clean. The location is unbeatable: super central, only a 1-minute walk from Puerta del Sol, close to Gran Vía and the main shopping area, with metro and buses all around within easy walking distance.

One downside is the shower area privacy. The shower is located right near the entrance of the room, so whenever someone comes in or goes out, they pass by that area. Since you wouldn’t usually bring clothes into the shower (they get wet), you end up stepping out with just a towel in that space, which can feel a bit exposed. Personally it didn’t bother me too much, but in a mixed/shared room setup I can see how many women might feel uncomfortable with it, and I wouldn’t choose this room type for my girlfriend. Breakfast was okay, but nothing more than that quite basic

My Trip was amazing and the first impression of this trip was the reception guys at Toc Hostel, especially Alexandro Garcia, he is very helpful and great man. The hostel is very well located, is very clean and well taken care of, and it has a good kitchen where we can prepare food. The rooms are silent, it's a good place to rest.

I liked the common area and it was in a great location.

The beds didn’t have curtains and there was a creepy man staying in my room so I felt like I had no privacy

It’s almost located on Puerta del Sol, you can get walking everywhere.

Very pleasant hostel, with nice design. Very good located in the old city center, near to many attractions and metro station (Sol). There is also a big shopping center in the next building. Anyway quiet (I had a room on 2nd flor from the yard side). Stuff was very polite and helpful. There is great common area in the kitchen/dining room where you can eat and relax by good, quiet music. I had a room with bathroom, where WC was separated from shower what is an advantage. Also plus for big locker in the room for each person. Opening door by card very comfortable. Heating was in place (and working). I recommend!

Maybe only a curtain in the bed was missing, like many people mentioned already.

The location was ideal, the breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of choices, and I really enjoyed the overall atmosphere. Everything was excellent.

Honestly, there was nothing in particular I didn’t like—everything went very well.

Everything was perfect!! Amazing! I can’t complain! The place is clean, staff is very very helpful and he explains everything properly! The card contactless key is amazing!! Lockers are big!! I’ll definitely come back! Just some suggestions! There could have some curtains for privacy!! Would be nice! USB spot to charge in bed also could help a lot! But all is perfect!!!

Right smack in the center of Madrid, location can’t be beat. We stayed in a family room on the fourth floor; our two teenagers enjoyed the room setup. Room was very cozy, warm and clean, with a small french balcony and really well insulated from the outside hustle and bustle. Hostel feels like stepping back in time (in a good way), quirky staircase, very nice communal eating area, pool table and bar. Staff was extra friendly and helpful.

Nothing! but if something can be suggested it would be some shelves/more hangers in the family room.

Fantastic Location, right on Plaza Puerta del Sol, so very close to all the shopping streets and restaurants and cafes and even the museums, el Retiro park, Royal Palace were at 20-25mins distance.. Very clean rooms, good comfortable beds and good lighting.

I had to access the room (1st floor) through stairs, and there were a lot of beds on that floor, so making it difficult to access/making it without access to Elevator is not a good idea.

The staff was really friendly and hostel looked cute and had warm feeling.

Room should be vacuumed better. There was like six old towels from previous travelers and a lot of hair on the floor. So just a little bit more extra cleaning on the room edges :)

Clean hostel in the city center with all the facilities around. Reachable to all shops, food joints and clubs.

The beds don't have the curtains for privacy while sleeping and when reaching the second bed there is no grill to catch n it is dangerous at night when everyone is sleeping and you try to get out of the bed in dark without handles
