Hotel Emperador, Madrid

Good location, friendly stuff, wonderful pool, and the breakfast menu was amazing! Especially, we loved relaxing and excellent view from the pool. There are some supermarkets near the hotel and the bus stop of no.101 which is free for ride.

The resting area around the pool didn't have a lot of shaded spaces!

The room was a really good size for 3 adults. The location was nice and central with many restaurants to choose from. The rooftop pool was deep and large enough for a swim and there were lots of loungers. The view up there was also great! The breakfast buffet had a lot of variety. Lobby staff were very friendly and helpful.

The English speaking staff were a great benefit to us. Always friendly & helpful. Nice rooftop pool with a great view of the city and surrounding districts. Service staff were on point and also very helpful.

Loved the vibe & character of the hotel. Fabulous terrace bar & pool. Internal decor very stylish & grand! Reception staff were very friendly, helpful & attentive. Buffet breakfast very tasty, especially the cooked food.

Great location right in the heart of Madrid. Pool area was really nice and a lot more beds and options (ie shade, sun, music) than I had expected. Pool bar service was great although could be a bit slow at times.

Air conditioning was hard to control and the room was quite warm although it was an exceptionally warm few days. Drinks at the bar were a bit pricey too compared to other local and roof top bars. Only having three lifts for such a large capacity hotel meant there were often long waits to get service and we often had to take the stairs instead which, whilst good for our health, would not be an option for people with reduced mobility, or when carrying luggage or with small children.

Location is fantastic. The rooftop pool and bar is excellent.

Location in Gran Via. It’s perfect for shopping experience. Restaurants are all around us. Supermarkets in a walking distance. Everywhere I wanted to go were close by. I would highly recommend it and I will consider stay there for my next visit. The pool area and facilities are great for a day to sunbathe and relax.

Mind you! Walls are thin so bring with you ear plugs.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great! Really good selection and good quality,with plenty of healthy options. Room was very comfortable,pleasantly decorated and very good bedding. Terrace was superb,we were able to swim and sunbathe every afternoon after a mornings sightseeing,which was so easy given the location. We were worried the terrace may get too busy high season,but the facilities were more than adequate ensuring everyone a relaxing afternoon and opportunity to cool off. Evening menu was very good,high recommend the Mediterranean salad. All round fabulous hotel and great few days in Madrid.

Nothing,just one minor thing...new little milks for tea tray would have been good each time the room was done.

This was our second time here. We love this hotel. It’s very central and has everything we needed. We also got upgraded this time which was wonderful. Our room was much more spacious and bright

I don’t have any dislikes. The only recommendation would be a mirror in the bedroom part of the rooms as if someone else is showering or using bathroom there is nowhere to do hair or makeup

They never specify that rooms do not have windows with views. I had to upgrade my room (thus pay more) in order to have a window with real air and light (the one they originally assigned me had a window to the interior of the building, thus no fresh air or light)

Customer experience rep was very supportive and helped us celebrate our anniversary.

A really nice hotel in central Madrid and well placed for all the attractions. The hotel is in excellent condition, the facilities very good, especially the swimming pool/rooftop and the restaurant there. Breakfast is excellent. The gym is adequate as a diversion. Overall a really excellent stay and worked well en famille.

Pool area was lovely and clean, beds were comfy and location was perfect. There are plenty of sunbeds on the rooftop as well, with people coming and going lots, so seems to not be any problems getting a spot

The decor and the rooms are quite dated and “tired”. Like, the carpet is super old but the rooms are still perfectly fine and comfortable and clean!

This is a very good hotel and I would definitely recommend it and stay there again. The location is right in the centre with three Metro stations nearby with access to the entire Madrid Metro network. The hotel has a beautiful private pool, bar and terrace on the roof which is a MUST SEE and is part of the room rate. It had the vibe of an upmarket private members' bar with a large swimming pool, a restaurant, various levels within which to sunbathe and relax as well as a stylish bar. The best part is the view of the city. People would pay a lot of money to see views like that elsewhere and it is included in the price if you are a guest. All the other facilities are what you would expect of a four star city centre hotel. The decor and rooms are certainly very dated and an update would modernise the hotel however this does not take away from the fact that the hotel is of a very good standard with very helpful staff on reception. A very good choice if you are visiting Madrid. I very much enjoyed my stay.

The Riad was very clean and spacious. Pool area was awesome. It was very convenient to have washing machine on the unit.

Air conditioning is only in the bedrooms so it made spending time with others difficult unless you were in their bedroom. Could never get TV to work. Please provide instructions so guests can use it.

Beautiful old time luxurious hotel.

My wife has a disability and the only way to enter was through steps or a steep slope. The steps were the safest option however proved to be difficult,

Walls are a bit thin. The bed felt like I was always falling out of it.

An exceptional hotel located in the very heart of Madrid within easy walking distance of all the main sights. We were visiting for a special occasion and the front desk very kindly upgraded our room to a beautiful junior suite to mark the event. The rooftop pool was a luxurious touch and was impeccably maintained. The service was outstanding, and every member of staff we encountered was warm and welcoming. We will definitely be returning.

We've stayed a few times before and it's a great hotel. The location is amazing, the staff in reception are lovely, helpful and welcoming, the room is a good size, clean and well equipped, and the pool is superb!

The same every year, the pool staff leave a lot to be desired. They don't like you going up to the bar to order, but then don't come around to take orders for ages! They aren't particularly friendly and the prices by the pool are extortionate. This year they had a pool DJ playing one of the days, good music but way too loud (and I like loud music!). Also the double bed in the room was actually 2 singles pushed together and were on runners so move apart and you fall down the middle if you roll over.

Housekeeping kept coming into my room without knocking; multiple times per day. And left their belongings including the master key in our room multiple times too.
